Washing your hair aides in growth because your scalps needs to be clean to grow at its fullest potential. I think stylist don’t want you to wash your hair because it’s easier for them to manage.
Thank you for your video. I'm two weeks (almost 3 weeks) in and I'm very self-conscious about how my hair looks now. Although I see growth I was told not to put too much tension on styling it just yet. I must say that I absolutely love your hair and the length. I can't wait to get some fullness in my head. Also, I'm so glad you spoke about shampooing your hair. I was tripping as well when I was told not to wash my hair. Ummmmm....yeah, that's a big negative! I will be washing mine too in about another week and a half. It's a must! I wish you continued success on your journey!
This is such a great vlog! I actually came here because of your reason #2 😂 I just started my locs and keep looking at other loc journeys to help me get through this phase. I started with a big chop even though I was natural already. Just wanted to start fresh. But I definitely was not ready for THIS look I have. Your video helps. I will keep moving forward with it! Also I am a fellow runner! ❤️
Just started following. I'm almost 3 weeks in my loc journey. I appreciate that you are authentic and natural in the way you speak and share. Very candid. Thanks again
You and your locs are beautiful. I Am 4 months In my lock journey started by double twist.. I wash my hair on a regular (water on my head helps me Spiritually) it did actually help loc my hair because my hair is natural curly being a Black & Puerto Rican woman so my hair just natural wrapped / formed/ locked itself. I agree with your advice. Thanks
Doing your thing…..glad to see another new youtuber grinding through the early stages. Keep working and being consistent and things will work in your favor…✌🏽😃✌🏽(and I love your demeanor, you’re not all needlessly high energy, lol)
Great content. Keep it coming. Please do some vids on your training for the marathon. I’m in the process of doing the same and could use some advice/ motivation
I love your hair and its length and how it looks. It kind of reminds me of how willow smiths locs looked before she cut it all off. I'm thinling of starting locs and I dream of having locs similar to yours bc of the fluff and volume, I think its beautiful!
I am currently 5 days into my journey. I started with comb coils and I am already experiencing a lot of frizz. But I’m here for it! You are absolutely right, wearing them out has already helped to improve my confidence. I’m excited to see how my hair will transform in the coming months. Thanks for the tips ❤️ your locs look AMAZING by the way 🥰
Hi Jasmin, I assume you already ran your marathon but it would be lovely to be able to share in that journey with you. I myself am a runner. I am starting all over again now after pregnancy but love running. It would be great to have a sister to share the journey with. As for your hair, it's gorgeous! I am also on a new loc journey. Thanks for the your content, it's encouraging.Blessings xox
Your locs are nice, I’m in my3rd month of my journey, I work in nursing so I wear scrub caps . Days off hats or scarfs when out. Lord give me patience to trust the process. Thanks for your uplifting videos 😉
I’m wanting to loc my hair in April I’m very excited and I’m not going to lie I’ve been watching videos like ouuu ok my hair should look like this but your right it’s your own journey
I'm considering locs but I'm terrified of the awkward stage. I had a consultation yesterday and asked about faux locs over starters but she said don't do it. Your video is more encouraging.
I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who’s nervous about the awkward stage. That’s been the main reason why I haven’t taken moved forward. The plan is to get starter locs on my birthday in November. I’m nervous and excited about it.
😳 READ ME LIKE A BOOK! So we friends now cause no one else would be allowed to read me that way 😂. This is hands down the most impactful video I’ve watched preparing for and being in my loc journey 2 weeks. Yeah like you’ve said I’ve watched a lot. Thank you thank you thank you ☺️.
I hear that over and over about not washing your hair! That’s so crazy! I get my hair washed once per week and I love it! My locs are growing so nicely. I had some girl tell me she couldn’t start locs because she heard you couldn’t wash your hair! That’s freaking ridiculous and hilarious!
Love your videos! I started my hair loc journey Nov 10th. 2021. I was wondering how long you waited before your first experience with water in your hair and was that a full wash, if so, how did you dry it?
I was going to a loctician every two weeks for a wash and retwist in the first two months. After that I started getting retwists monthly and washing in between whenever I felt like my scalp felt dirty
Just subscribed I love your locs and the info you provided will be much needed. I installed starter locs 2 weeks ago 🥰 I guess my natural hair channel is going to become a loc one 😁 Come on over sis
@@JasmineTyon My locs are about the same length as yours and I’m contemplating wrapping them too, but I’m worried they will slide off. How did you manage to make them stay?
you know whats sad! its young black men who go around telling people not to wash they hair. i watch countless loc content both of men & women never do i hear women saying dont wash your hair for months. this just my own personal opinion but women & maybe older men give more realistic loc advice. but I'm speechless with the amount of content that exist of black men saying go 3 to 6 months no wash.
Shampooing your hair is only necessary is you use products. Not everyone does. You can go a great while without doing so. Shampooing your hair doesn’t equal growth. Growth is all about length retention hence why locs retain length. Let’s not misguide people. Video otherwise is cool
@@JasmineTyon helps but there’s people I have witness shampooing quarterly and sometimes twice yearly and their hair grows just fine. There’s people that don’t use shampoo at all and all of these people don’t use product. I’m speaking professionally and things I e experienced and witness. It’s no different than someone leaving braids In for 2 months
@@genejaytre at first i didn’t agree with the no wash point you made. But when you mentioned the braids…yep. Our hair grows with protective styles. It just does. But a clean scalp is also just as important. For my hair, I’ve always noticed that the more i wash and stimulate my scalp it grows like a weed. I’m 51 and have always had long hair, never had a problem growing it. And i NEVER go more than two weeks without washing. But great point with the braids. Really
Washing your hair is not a must AT ALL. My hair grows so much more with dirty hair. When you are not putting products in your hair you shouldn't have build up. Use sea breeze to clean scalp. You have grows better with it's natural oil..... Locs or braids we don't wash hair often.....
Washing your hair is a must. Whether you use products or not there are environmental elements that get into our hair and on our bodies. Dirty hair is just gross. That’s like saying a dirty body is healthier. Absolutely not. You may not agree but I’m stating facts. Blessings.

I'll give it a try once my locs mature more.
