I’m 1 week loc’d & I’m ready to quit, sis 😭 I am SO uncomfortable. Going from long/full hair during my 10+ years of being a loose natural to these shrunken baby coils is killing meeee! I’m gonna try to trust the process though. Got some head wraps, head bands, hats, etc. I’m just gonna do my makeup, put on some cute earrings or glasses, & keep it pushing💪🏾

I’m only like 3 months in but most of mine are still pretty skinny for the most part but I do notice some thickening up a little bit. Not the mention my coils were just as short as yours and now after my first retwist they’re already touching my neck 🤗

I started with 2 strand twist and a head full of hair and it took about a year to loc. I'm on my second set, I'm 4 months in and I'm fully loced . This time I started on super short hair. Its going to loc quicker, the shorter your hair is and your not suffering through shrinkage.

Great video! Do you wear a scarf when you workout? My loctician said to wear my scarf (not bonnet) as much as possible at the beginning stage. I'm only two weeks in with my starter locs 🙂My hair doesn't stick up

I am almost two months loc'd with two strand twists and for me, I like to wash every two weeks to get that natural budding look. I don't like the fresh retwist look sometimes cuz I don't want to see my scalp lol I like the natural budding look. Shampoo your hair, just be gentle! Also, instead of using regular water in a spray bottle, I put coconut water in a spray bottle and I spray my hair every couple of days

Yes, I worn hats, then scarfs, it made the process easier . Now after washing I roll my Hair and it looks really nice.

Wow I'm on 3weeks now and this morning my bf tells me he hates my locs and they're ugly and I should cover my hair whenever we are out in public together 😢, I already feel insecure, I've gained some weight over the the past 2 years and my face looks so different and I feel short hair is not for me at this stage but I've been wearing my tiny locs proudly the past 3 weeks and I'm so excited to have started the locs journey again.

Thanks for the video. I'm so scared. I just loc'd mine, and I'm wearing wigs right now. I guess once they get poofy, I'll wear the faux dreads till they start looking better and longer.

If your hair lil dirty it can help your hair grow but if it to dirty it can completely stop hair growth

Not an ugly stage it’s the dreaded stage before they become locs. That’s where the name come from. “Dread Locks”🥰

I think it is interesting that you started off saying other people were saying somewhat certain negative things and then you started feeling a way about your hair. Please don't allow others opinions about your hair affect your view. When I went natural 13 years ago, my mother criticized it. She from that black hair is ugly generation. But even my Black woman supervisor (who flat irons her hair to death) had the never to criticize my short fro. I loved my fro, never felt so liberated, so Black woman beautiful, free from the chemicals and need to always be straight. Just started my locs but I don't care about no so called ugly phrase because beauty is subjective.
