    Thanks for sharing your journey!! I love pros!! It has definitely built my confidence. I am 9 months as of Monday!! The best investment in whole entire life. lol I tell everyone this!! I have 390 locs. I went almost 12 weeks without a retie and I thought it was the end of the world. My locitician started back 3 weeks ago and she did my hair after 2 weeks and we both wore mask while she did it. Anyways, beautiful locs!! Thanks again!!

      You're welcome! I agree, this was one of my best investments I have made in my life lol. Yes girl, I found out my hubby's loctitian started working (she has a small private shop) and I got in with her, we did the same precautions. She said if I had waited any longer it would've been a hot mess cuz of the growth lol. Thanks for watching ❤!

    Seeing your journey gives me a lot of hope for my sisterlock journey, your locks are beautiful! I just started my journey in March, so I’m in the insecure stage where it doesn’t have the length and fullness that I desire just yet. So I’m learning to love and style my hair in its current state. This lockdown is helping me get through this stage without facing the world, where the confidence is coming from me, not externally. I agree with your pros and cons for sure!

    I love this video. Very positive and upbeat. I also like your honesty. It is definitely a process. I hated the process😁. For (6) more I kept waiting to see growth and fullness. So glad you expressed this in the video. I'm (2) yrs locked and it is amazing. I awoke one morning and my hair was down my back😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁. I don't fuss over it anymore. My daughter took the Sisterlock class on Baltimore. She re-tiea my hair every (8-10) weeks. My hair was starting to think when I was getting re-tight every (4-6). Now it's about every two months. You're so right when you said Freedom and ease. As a senior citizen on a fixed income, this is the best decision I could have ever made. I love my hair and I love yours too! Eshe Rudo

      Hey there! I retighten typically every 4-6 weeks. Washing every 2-3 weeks usually works really well for my hair, which is what I was doing when I was loose natural. I aim for plant based most of time, and eat mostly a vegetarian diet. But I eat chicken and or fish a couple times a week. I haven't eaten red meat in like over 10 years. • @TheFabJerLife
      @TheFabJerLife  2 года назад

      Thank you ❤️ I have heard of several ppl that still can have sisterlocks with thin hair, or fine hair. I have a lot of hair, but my hair is fine textured. So when I was loose, it was always difficult to maintain a “big” hair look for long or without lots of product. Certain techniques of locking can allow your hair to swell as much as possible to gain as much volume as your hair allows. That’s what my specialist did. I would go to a loctician for a consult

      Awww thank you!! Honestly since locking it, my products are minimal, much different from my loose natural time. 2 things: Paul Mitchell number 1 shampoo (diluted) and Roux (#619) leave in condition, diluted (from Sally's). Lately these things have been hard to find. So I've been using the Sally's generic comparable to Paul Mitchell which works great, and a different leave in at sally's. I'll find the name. But this watery leave in is all I need a few times a week.

    • @TheFabJerLife
      @TheFabJerLife  2 года назад +1

      Hey! Honestly that is a discussion that would be difficult since it varies greatly based on the consultant’s level of experience, if they charge by the hour vs session, the length of your hair at the time of installation, how often you need maintenance, and your going prices in your geographic location. As a result, installation can go from $400-500s up to $1000+, maintenance from $125+
      So it would be best to do your own research for the best numbers based on those factors

    Seriously considering SisterLocs..I'm scared. My hair texture is soft and fine. Any suggestions??

    • @TheFabJerLife
      @TheFabJerLife  3 года назад +1

      My hair is also fine and soft 😊. I wouldn't let that be your deciding factor. Its moreso important what your curl pattern is like. Soft and fine hair can lock up, but the looseness or kinkyness of your pattern tends to be a factor in how long your hair takes to lock. Any interlocking method like sisterlocs tends to be better option for looser patterns, because it cuts down on your hairs wanting to slide out. My hubby had to do interlocking as well due to his looser bi-racial curls

      Appreciate every stage. When your hair actually locks up it will look totally different. I miss the shoulder length fluffy stage of my sislocs. They are to my waist now but it legit took 3 years about before they started to grow long and after that the growth was insane and I had to keep cutting them. But just enjoy the stages as your hair will never look that way again. Also I took the sisloc rety course and it was the best decision ever especially now with covid but having a good consultant is key because they catch problems before they progress. I still see my consultant for color and a cut for time to time. No one else touches my hair for that. Finally dont slack on retys. If you go a long while with alot of loose hair at the root the greater the likelihood you will have breakage and thinning. Good luck. Best decision I ever made for my hair and wish I'd known sooner about them.

    Hi nice hair. How many locks do you have?

      Haven't counted since the beginning. With new locs formed over time around my perimeter, I believe around 350
