I have watched a few LS swap videos I will say the details of the three so far are awesome. I am getting ready to do one in my own truck so this helps tremendously and kinda makes it look easy 😊
Great video I am getting ready to put the 4.8 v8 from my 08 gmc into my 77 gmc square body what do you do for the gas pedal linkage or is that in your next video.
The rear main seal has to be centered on the crank, it doesn’t matter where everything else falls out. If it isn’t centered you will get to replace it down the road. Also put in an upgraded aluminum dogbone and oil pump pickup tube o-ring. That’s the shit that causes low oil pressure down the road. Cheap and easy insurance while you’re there! New oil pressure sending unit, crank position sensor are easy to change with engine out and are sources for oil leaks also. I hate oil leaks! Oh, drop in a new PCV valve to help protect that rear main seal from leaking....
Instant sub man. Love the tutorial. Easy to understand and you give the reasons why things are disassembled and reassembeled a certain way. Getting ready to do my first swap. the only thing that scares me is the wiring. Im color blind. lol
Thanks brotha, that could make it a little harder the reworked harness comes labeled every plug and wire. For the bulk head wiring on the truck you can use a diagram and identify the pin outs based on location in the bulkhead plug here’s a link if you want to check it out select year and engine compartment should show what you need forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?PHPSESSID=e1a661f34362f3766fc027528c281bdd&topic=11766.0
Info and links is in part 1 of the video series they are ls 2 bolt cast manifolds I believe they are made for Camaro I order them off eBay around 200 shipped
I’m new here did I see in your first video on this build that you used stock oil pan just new gaskets? I have an 84 2wd c10 and wanted to know if it would fit with stock oil pan
Hey Bro. Love the videos. Do you know if there are certain long tube headers that could be used in my squarebody without modification? Ive seen others that had to cut the frame or massage the heabers to make them fit.
Thanks for coming back brotha, None that we have tried worked without frame trimming or clearance issues that’s why we have been using the cast manifolds
Speed engineering long tubes fit great with Tejas engine mounts. They perform good, look nice-SS, and are $300. If you use Tejas mounts you can also keep the LS factory low mount AC compressor and keep the truck oil pan from hanging below the crossmember.
I’ve been enjoying this series I have a question do you have to change the oil pan when LS swapping a c10 ?? Because the regular one it comes with hangs to low ??
@@bacfab9259 I ordered one and found a used pump/assembly locally. Going to swap out the stock pump with a Kemso 340. Do I need an inline regulator or is there a stock one on the rail?
A little more cleaning on the motor would of been better I’m the type of person that when I do my swaps I try to get the motor super clean I take it almost all apart degreased it change all my gaskets I leave them looking almost new I’m a clean freak

Right on I appreciate it I try to cover as much as possible without making the videos hours long
I appreciate the feedback

13:20 put pan back on, spin engine 2-3 times by hand to center seal, torque down

17:30 bolt an old bellhousing to block to make sure pan is in correct position. Not to far back. (Have cracked bellhousing with pan back tooo far
Thank you for sharing great information
I couldn’t install the motor without cleaning up the engine bay and rails, shooting a little black paint..
man bro love the videos they are very detailed and motivating. great work sir. cant wait to see the finish project
Thanks brotha
Thank you brotha
Thanks for making this video series. I'm about to do the same thing.
Oh shit Warr performance... good shit 👏 👌
good video, looking forward to the next one
What make are those cast exhaust manifolds? In the future could a parts list be included in the description. Video has great information.

Good Job young man
Thank you I appreciate the feedback
I am about to do the same. Great video
Thank you I hope it’s helpful
Just did my LSA swap I need that harness
Reach out to joe from warr performance he will get you going in no time
I might try to ls my 77 ford f150.
You might be better to do a sub frame swap and motor and trans from a crown Vic… my friend did one it came out great ! And handle’s beautiful
I’m new here did I see in your first video on this build that you used stock oil pan just new gaskets? I have an 84 2wd c10 and wanted to know if it would fit with stock oil pan
Yes if you use the Tejas mounts
Where do u get the cross bar motor mounts and tranny mount I’m actually working on the same build but on a long bed putting a 6.0 in my 86 c10
Tejas steel works
Very helpful video
Thank you
Thank you
What are you doing for the throttle pedal with the drive by wire?
Will be making a video on the complete pedal setup next week

Thank you, the factory oil pan clears with the Tejas motor mounts other mounts out there require a low profile pan
@@bacfab9259 that’s good to know bro thanks for that info …
Crazy concept = truck pan in truck
Is there anyway you can tell how to make them mounts so I can run my ac down low
The motor mounts and transmission crossmember are made by tejas steel works they have a website just Google the name
Have you ever used those tajas mounts on a obs truck?
No haven’t tried that yet
Why get 2 cooling fan sensor switch, isn't it controlled by ecm
2 separate relays for each signal off the ecm
Do you need to program the engine ather you install it what is the name of the store
I happen to be doing this identical swap now. Glad to see the AC compressor will fit. Does that new fuel tank have a baffle in it?
Yes the 87 tank comes baffled

@@cjjohnson1821 what year is the motor if it has 2 lines on the rail it has a regulator already if it has one line you would need a corvette regulator

@@cjjohnson1821 the fuel pressure regulator should be on the rail
What's the front tire size? Looks about like what I want to put on mine.
Question?? Do you run through the engine just to make sure it's good before installing. Just asking cause I want to do mine soon but was curious.
Yes we like to pull the motors out of running donor vehicles
Yeah but I mean do you take it apart and inspect it to make sure everything is good?
@@MICLANTECUTLI yes compression is checked and oil pan is removed to inspect

11542 Aeromotive stealth 340lph
@@bacfab9259 thanks for the reply I appreciate it.
Why not put aftermarket headers ?
Mainly for reliability these manifolds are made for Camaro so they flow better and will not crack
Why replace rear main cover?
What brand is that long wrench u used to remove flywheel bolts ?

Found on eBay but they work great
@@bacfab9259 thanks
What's the name of the motor mounts are the link for them
Tejas steel works
What motor mounts are you using??
Tejas motor mount and transmission crossmember
Have the part numbers for the mounts or link ?
tejassteelworks.com/ they have the mounts you need
The camera wobbling made me dizzy from the beginning. Couldn't get past the first part.
Flexplate not flywheel
