I feel you on the uneven floors. The apartment I moved into a few years ago is kind of warped with the floors. I was able to remedy the issue with some plastic / rubber furniture wedges, so now my shelves are somewhat even now. Anyway, I love the new HQ, Thew. Looking pretty sick. And hey! Free couch! lol
Legacy Armada Megatron is great, I reviewed it as a sort of “emergency” video on my vacation. Only problem I found with it was its lacking things that the original had going for it even without the gimmicks. But i thought it was pretty cool.
I can totally relate to wonky houses. We were doing some renovations once (*necessary* renovations, like if we hadn't done them there was a chance the floor was gonna collapse) and at one point the carpenter threw up his hands and yelled "Nothing in this house is square!"
Nice setup. A few figures missing (Haslab Unicron and Robosen Optimus Prime). A figures I wish I had. Nice haul from TFNation. Working on my own haul video from Botcon 2023.
Loving the new set up looks great and the wonky room adds character. I always see you around at TFNation but you always have so many people around you I never want to intrude on your experience. I completely understand your thoughts on your experience at TFN this year, this year was my first TFN since 2019, I only came for the Saturday and I did feel quite overwhelmed, that’s nothing against the convention and the organisation, but it was really busy and being back for the first time in four years did feel overwhelming.

Sorry it wasn't a very opportune moment; I've never been before and I had no idea what to do with myself most of the time - I'd only been there about 20 minutes when I saw you! Hey, Thew! Love the *new* HQ! Great place to do, `hwatcha do. ;) (ok, I'll stop now, I promise.) With regard to TFNation and your con burnout: We had the same thing happen to us. Chaotic times right before a big 2022 convention, lots of decisions to make prior to going, plans going awry, complications, conumdrums, introvert lockdown feelings... and then by the time we GOT to the convention, we just wanted to go back to the hotel and sleep. Fast forward to this year's con. We limited our schedules for the few weeks before the event, kept our calendar as predictable as possible and such. It made the event a much more enjoyable experience, especially since we took it much slower, much more mellow and go-with-the-flow. We're already super hyped for the 2024 version of said event. Hope that helps your TFN 24 plans. :)
The VNR and Holiday optimus mold was apparently gonna be an Amazon crossover, as that volvo truck is what they use at Amazon. But the deal likely never went through, so now we have the mold in a different flavor lol.
You may have already considered this, but I think you would benefit a lot from some minimal lighting on the shelves themselves. Just relying on ambient lighting makes the shelves look really shadowy, and kinda defeats the purpose of having anything in the background at all. Even if you could find some tiny strings of LEDs to lay along the top or bottom of each shelf would probably make a big difference.
YO THEW! For the figures in the back rows that are hard to see you should/can put pieces of wood or old cassette tape cases under them to raise them up a bit so its more of a 3d shelf setting. Great collection! cheers
I found having a table at conventions greatly valuable for time and comfort back when I was covering them for a podcast and doing panel duties. And I am nowhere near the guy you are - I'm sure there'd be a line of fans and friends at your table!
Ngl Thew, I am so happy for you for getting rid of that Haslab Unicron. We all know how much you detest that thing waaaaay before you even make that Unicron video, and seeing it in the BG of every video since the unboxing video of it have been like super displeasing, knowing how much it made you feel the things you felt and it constantly being there at the back being so proud of its own grandiose-ness, We're so glad to see you got rid of it. It was definitely a toy that happened but honestly you can make do with it. Amazing video as always and keep up the good work!!

See what you need is a drumset with two kick drums, so you can put TOY on one head, and GRIND on the other. Also edit, advice from a drummer that plays similar stuff to you that uses 5Bs: play with a 5A in your left hand, and a 5B in your right bat end out. The Nicko McBrain grip is what's helped me get my blast beats right and get my right arm desynced from my right leg while doing blasts and dbeat, AND using the bat on my ride and my fills makes my drumming sound heavy as FUCK. Fair warning on the cardboard shelf levellers, I did that with a rack my music equipment was on & it began sagging forward again relatively soon, as it slowly just crushed the cardboard under its weight

I picked up a SS86 Brawn earlier this week from Smyths, and just yesterday, I picked up 4/5 G1 Stunticons from a toy fair. Motormaster was the one that wasn't there.

I still have all my figures but I recently got a few more (friend didn’t want his transformers anymore and gave them away) I’m a huge transformers fan, deluxe and legends class were my fav growing up. I used to love the movie figures but then I got into the more exclusive and rare toys. One of my favourite figures I own atm is the Henkei Thundercracker. Very rare nowadays. I also have Ramjet and SG Drift from TFCC
That Energon Mirage got a really nice Banzaitron redeco at a Botcon which is a great version. Also, Shortround has possibly the best toilet fanmode! Congrats on the new living arrangement.
I'm sure you'll fix it or already have, but I noticed at the end of your video, a shining light on one of the bots on the top of the shelf in the back. If that's a sunlight reflection, you're gonna want to set things up so at no point during the day that beam of light thing happens, because it will ANNIHILATE certain robots, especially older ones. Had a G1 bot on a shelf that a thin sunbeam lazily went across over the course of a day(not a single day, just each day repeatedly) and left a terrible "burn-in"/faded mark on it after only a few weeks before I noticed it.
