This is a really lovely take on Dorothy! The Ruy Slippers are, of course, iconic, but here's a fun fact for people who don't know: in the book, the shoes aren't described with any specific color, but also seeming to change color depending on the light. They're studded with gorgeous glass beads that catch the light, and in some lights, they can indeed look like rubies! I think the first face you drew did look like Judy, but this Dorothy really did need the classic Hextian spin. She looks simply fabulous for her debut in the Emerald City!
She reminds me of Bryce Dallas Howard, so cute! Her being next to Galinda at the end shows how good you are with shaping the faces with contour and blush because they look like completely different dolls despite having the same base, such a good job, as always!
I still have my Dorothy doll from the 90s, she was display-only by my mom's orders, so, I had never played with her, but she did get fussed with for shelf poses. I also still have a Scarecrow and Glinda from that line! You truly did her a grand justice with this custom doll to go with your Wicked line!
Now I want to see Nessarose as the Witch of the East 😍 (It would be great to see her in something similar to the dress she wore in the San Francisco production, which was inspired by Morrible's clothes 😅)
I’m not sure if you know of her, but there’s a character I know you’d just love from the Oz books: Princess Ozma. Dorothy’s her companion (or in our modern terms, her girlfriend/life partner), and her costume is absolutely exquisite. You must be all Ozzed out, but if you happen to want to make another, I know you’d make her wonderfully fierce. EDIT: Oh and I totally forgot to mention she’s a trans icon
I think this is probably my favourite doll you’ve ever made. I started watching the Wizard of Oz at the age of three and I’m now 52 and watch it at least once every year. So thank you for doing this doll. It just warms my heart ❤

Seriously I cannot wait to see Dorothy in the second wicked and fun fact I actually got to DIY my ruby slippers. It was a little messy at first, but worked out like magic.

This is definetly a collection of dolls they'd show in a commercial after the millionth re-airing of the Wizard of Oz on TV. These are worthy of being on display in my mom/grandmother's home. These are the dolls we'd never be allowed to touch, they're that beautiful.

I do think you made the right call to change her face, it is indeed much more open and youthful and i think it is really cool that you included the first face up as well, it not only shows your thought process and that it is oke to change things but also your dedication to your art, you won’t settle for a face up that does not feel right and I respect that. the reveal was everything!!!! The production, the drama!! I'm amazed at how beautiful each doll is (my fave is miss Elphaba) and how well they fit together. Despite the Ariana face mold, Dorothy and Glinda look sooo different and unique, you really have a magic touch
Oh my OZ, Dorothy looks gorgeous! Its ok if you made a mistake on the make up, the second one looks perfect don't change it. At first I thought the tights would work but you were right, too much Alice in Wonderland going on, stick with the socks. I just love Toto, I was screaming when he was in the basket. I thought to myself why did you made the slippers red when in the movie of part 2 their silver, but they still look gorgeous. Now I have to sketch Dorothy and Toto, one sketch of the slippers will be Silver while the other will be Ruby Red. As for Wicked part 2, lets wait till part 2 arrives, then we'll see what happens to Elphaba's sister if she becomes wicked too, she will most likely need a witch outfit. As for her old outfit, should it be remodeled or left alone? I am looking forward to see the rest of the characters like Scarecrow, Tin Man,, including Lion. For Lion might be easier for an animal figurine or 3d print BJD Lion toy.
