Titanium Vulcan welders what one to buy?

- I review both Titanium 200 and the Vulcan Omnipro 220 welders to see the differences between them and I test out the new Titanium to see how it welds. I find it strange that Harbor freight is selling both of these multi process welders. I want to see what one is the best welder for the price.
Thank GOD you aren't one of those unboxing people who make you sit through watching them pull out each item one piece at a time. So tedious! You just skip the BS and cut to the chase. Well done!
We have a welding and fabrication contractor come to where I work regularly, he runs a Vulcan 165 TIG machine. He says it runs as good as his comparable Miller rig. He catches a lot of flak from other contractors, but he defends his rig with his work.
Right on thanks for commenting! I have the bigger Vulcan AC/DC ProTig 200 and I really like it. Good for that contractor doing his own thing, I bet he does get Flak from those other contractors, those other guys are so set in there ways and have such brand loyalty in there over priced tools that they tell themselves and others that there’s no way the more affordable tools could even come close to working as good as there high priced tools.
Take care Jeff 👍
Mike festiva many such cases
That old saying I'll let my welding do the talk.
@@Mikefestiva sounds like snap on fanboys trying to justigy a 300 dollar socket set
HI Mike,
I haven't welded for 40 years. I wanted to get a hobby welder so, for the last 3 months I did some research on which welder to purchase. I am doing home repairs on railing, power equipment, old steel furniture and hobby projects. I wasn't going to spend $1500-2000 on a multipurpose welder for my applications. When i found your reviews on RUclips I watched them all. You do an excellent job with your videos regarding content, coherence and usability.
After watching this video, I did decide to purchase the Titanium 200 Welder from HF.
I have used it for about a month with nothing but excellent results. I used it on 110VAC and 220VAC. I have used the MIG, TIG and Stick functions. I did not use Flux core. The results were excellent. This is a great little welder. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to producing these videos. It is much appreciated.
Right on David 👍 After using both welders I also decided the Titanium 200 fit my needs better then the Vulcan. I really like my 200!
Thanks for commenting, I’m glad my reviews helped you out 👍
Masterful educational video. HF has aggressively entered the skilled worker/crafstman's market. With affordable tools like these welders and the lifetime warrantied hand tools, working folk can have a fighting chance. Snap on tools and Miller help workers get into the bottomless pit of debt.
I my opinion miller has made the best welders barnone on top of they will run on the hot side
@@sheilamclaughlin963 Miller is top notch, but they also cost a fortune! I`ve been eyeing a multi welder like one from HF, I just picked up one of there Daytona jacks yesterday, solid quality.
Jeremy Vonk I actually work at HF, we just opened a store in my hometown. The whole time we were stocking the store I kept seeing things as I forklifted them off the truck and thinking “Well there goes another paycheck” haha. I love the Daytona jacks, they look really nice. I’m definitely getting one of the low profile ones soon. 20% employee discount on everything makes everything tempting haha
Bought my 125 on Black Friday of 2019. I had never welded before but after seeing this video and other welding instructional videos, I was able to make myself s nice bbq smoker that I had always wanted. The Titanium 125 is easy to use. All I had to do was adjust the wire speed and heat according to the guide under the lid. I still need to keep practicing but the welds held up and I’m bbqing now!
i have a hobart mvp in the truck, had it for 2years, i now use my vulcan 220 more, almost exclusively! its about the smoothest welder i've ever used. i've welded 3 - 5 minute beads and never hit the duty max. these are really well built inverter welders- don't let the fact they are sold at hf throw you
The Vulcan welders definitely work great 👍 The Omnipro and the Protig are great welders. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks for the video reviewing a non-commercial/hobby welder. I'm just finally getting around to learning welding and don't want to spend a ton on a welder that will only be used occasionally (for now) for smaller projects and yet is multifunction capable.
I don't have either welder in this video. I still have the $100 MIG-90 From Harbor Freight. I think this one I've had for about 5 years. I don't use a welder very often to really justify the cost of a Lincoln, Miller, etc. Last year I used the MIG-90 for a pretty decent project building a rail system to hold cinder blocks in a lawn aerator/spreader. I hit the duty cycle on it several times in that project, but it worked great, and had really nice welds, when I wasn't trying to rush myself to beat the duty cycle.
I think one of the Vulcan or Titanium multi-process welders will be on my list. I don't do anything commercial, just home DIY projects so having a professional rig isn't exactly something I'd want to spend money on to have sitting around in the shop for months or even years at a time.
Finally a proper comparison and actual useful video without a bunch of useless information. Please keep doing tool videos ...
Thanks for your great comment! I really appreciate it :) I definitely have a few more videos in the works about these two welders. Also a lot of metal projects planned this spring and these two welders will be put to some good use. Take care
Thank you for your review. I am impressed with how you did your review.... you didn't whine and cry about all the bad points of the welder and how it is a HarborFreight and immediately form a biased opinion like some other reviewers (whom I won't mention or name).
I recently bought the OmniPro 220 and the first thing I did was take the cover off.... it is VERY nicely built! One thing I noticed right off is the twist lock connector is a Leviton! A USA made part and not some cheap knock off.
Other things that impressed me was the way the cabinet is made. ALL the edges of the sheet metal are deburred and not sharp. Even the edges are rolled over to increase the rigidity of the case. ALOT of the weight is from the cabinet as it is pretty thick sheet metal.
There are more things about this that just make it better as well. An impressive upgrade from the "normal" HF stuff.
I agree that for a DIYer, these welders are pretty high grade!
Thanks for taking the time to post your comments! I have been real happy with my Omnipro 220, It's worked perfectly for over a year now. I really feel HF has stepped up there quality on this welder. I don't know if you saw my youtube video I did about a year ago where I run the Omnipro side by side with my friends Millermatic 200, They both welded great! The Omnipro even has a bit more options then the Miller did. Take care :)
I've welded on a lot of different brands. The cheap welders run pretty decent. The only real difference is being able to run higher quality on ac/dc settings mig/tig and also being able to really fine tune voltage, hertz, and invert frequency settings. Makes smoother arcs and can run hotter or colder depending on the settings. You really can't do that on cheap welders. But they do lay down beads and will give you the basic welding capabilities. The titanium gives a little more and is actually pretty good for its price. The vulcan omni pro is on the higher end of the cheap welders but performance is on part with mid range welders Like Miller, Lincoln, Everlast and more. The vulcan is a huge bang for buck even now that Harbor freight knows this and raised the price to nearly 1000$. It's basically a 1500/2000 welder for 900$. You really can't complain about that
Finally someone who can tell us what we actually want to hear!
Mike, I like your tests and reviews. They have a good honesty to them and I listen carefully to what you have to offer. Thank you for sparing us the "unboxing"! I have a Hobart 140 (for many years) and am very interested to broaden my welding methods. I learned to weld using a buzz box and stick in the 80's and moved to MIG. But I would really like to add TIG to my repertoire. I am not industrial level but regular home shop user for a variety of projects. I have subscribed. Keep up the good, no nonsense, honest reviews. I'm liking the Vulcan Omnipro 220 but for my use the Titanium may be fine.
Thanks for checking out my video and commenting!
I really appreciate hearing that my reviews are helpful to others 🙂
I also learned on a old AC Lincoln buzz box, I have no desire to ever weld with one again Haha! I really like the Titanium 200, it’s light compact and really welds great! The Vulcan is a step up when it comes to features, it’s a bit more cost, bulk and weight but the TIG is probably a bit better on the Vulcan Omni pro, you can run a pedal, you can ramp the arc down and stop it with the pedal which is nice.
But I think from a learning stand point it was easier for me to learn how to TIG on the Titanium 200 without a pedal. Take care 🙂
Have Vulcan Migmax215 on my service truck. Didn't want to spend the money on a wire feeder to use with my Lincoln Ranger. I plug this guy in and run it in the field and use it in the shop and it has been working great for over a year now. Really good little machine.
Thanks for the honest easy and in depth reviews . I got the Omnipro 220 I believe it has more features , it’s easy to instal and love how the machine gives you a step by step how to plug in the attachments, clamps what gauge and recommended settings etc it’s significantly heavier that the Titanium 200 but I won’t be moving it much . Thanks again !
WENT TO HF 2 WEEKS AGO AFTER WATCHING THIS VIDEO TO PURCHASE THE TITANIUM 200 AND THEY HAD A OPEN BOX TITANIUM 170 FOR $319 AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT HAS NO PROBLEM WELDING 3/8. THANKS GOOD VIDEO.
That’s a great deal! I think the Titanium line is really great especially for the price, I use my Titanium 200 all the time! Have fun welding 🙂
I have been watching your videos on the Titanium and doing some research for a couple of months. Well, Harbor Freight extended the Parking Lot sale to this weekend. I just couldn’t resist the $629.99 price for the Unlimited 200. Went by a local welding store and picked up a tank of 75/25 and a tank of argon along with some 1/16 tungsten. Then swung by HF and got my 200. Came home, unboxed it, got it set up and plugged it in to 120V. Since I have a Lincoln 225 AC buzz box, I started with stick. Set it on 40 amps and proceeded to run some beads with 1/16 6013. Ran much better than the buzz box. Then, I set up the 0.030 solid wire and gas. I have the HF Titanium 125 flux core machine and I ya e used it a little. I can do “okay” with the 125 wire welder. I ran some beads with the .030 solid wire and found out why people love MIG. Those were some of the best looking beads I have ever ran. After Nestor clears the area here in Georgia, I am going to plug it in to my 230V plug and see what it can do. I will also try my hand at TIG welding too. With only a few minutes of practicing, I love the Titanium 200. Highly recommend it for the home user.
I’m glad you picked the Titanium 200 up! It’s a great welder and the price you got it for is the lowest they ever go for, so you did good.
I really like mine, it just welds so smooth!
I hope that storm passes without causing any damage. The 75/25 shielding gas really helps for clean welds. It’s great to here that your happy with it! Take care
Ive had my titanium for a year now. It just blew up the other day. The machine did great. I loved how smooth it was. It just randomly stopped working and white smoke filled the garage. Took it back to get another or possibly get the vulcan. They didn't have any titaniums or Vulcans in stock anywhere in my state. I just went ahead and got my money back and bought a Lincoln mp210. The titanium was an awesome welder. I dont want to talk down on it. But i was disappointed to see it only last a year. I didn't abuse or use it passed its duty cycle. I used mig and stick all the time on it. Id use tig every so often. If anyone plans on getting the titanium.. just make sure you get the warranty.
Thanks for commenting Colton. I’m sorry to hear it got smoked 😐 I have been running mine for about 18 months and it’s been flawless so far? Time will tell. At least you got your money back on it. You are the first one that’s commented that they smoked a Titanium. I have heard one guy really upset and complaining that his Vulcan stopped working.
I hope you have better luck with your Lincoln 👍 I’m a big fan of buying the extra warranty. Take care
Welders are in high demand in a number of major industries including shipbuilding, pipeline construction, aerospace, and automotive repair. As demand continues to exceed supply, skilled welders have the enviable position of being able to pick and choose jobs based on the type of work they like to do, where they would like to live, and how much they would like to earn. A professional career in this industry will allow you to travel, all the while earning a solid income; not many jobs can compete with that!
Big thanks to you Mike for taking the time to make this video and share from your perspective. Like seriously- most tool review/compare vids are really tough to sit thru (and some leave you wishing you hadn't by the end) but you are totally on point man. Mad props brother keep it up 👍
Thanks Nathan I really appreciate your comment :)
I have quite a few videos in this series covering these two welders, check those videos out if you get a chance, thanks again and take care :)
Don't have a favorite brand...been welding for over 35 years, and used everything.
Usually it's not the machine, it's the asshole holding the lead.
Haha it’s refreshing to read your comment 👍 I have had so many “pro” welders tell me I need to buy a “real welder” BLUE or RED. I always have done the best with what I got to work with, both of these welders weld great. Have you seen my new video series of building a 4x4 articulating mini dump truck? I’m using my Titanium 200 welder, it’s a cool project. Take care man 👍
@@Mikefestiva I will check it out. 👍
You know it.

September 1, 2020 Price is now more different. The Vulcan 220 is now $1,000 and the Titanium 200 is $750. I just now purchased the Titanium 200 after watching your video. I could not decide which to buy. I found your video while standing in the store. After watching this one and the next i see the better value for me. Thanks very much.
nice to see your giving HF a try. i'll be watching 4 more
Best welder review ever! You sir have earned my subscription! I can't wait for the comparison of the other welding types on each machine
Thanks I appreciate it 👍
Wanted to thank you for the time spent on this! Allot of times the thought process can be very discouraging when deciding on two things similar things. I will prob spring for titiaum !!
Right on Eric 👍 I really like my Titanium 200!
I use it all the time, right now I’m making a video series of building a mini 4x4 articulating dump truck, my Titanium is a champ on that project! Take care
Thanks for the real world review for those of us that can’t spend huge money on our diy hobbies
Straight forward and easy to understand
Really good video 👍👍👍
Thanks I appreciate that! I hope to post the next video in a week or so. I have been taking this Titanium welder to my work and using it, I liking how small it is, it makes it WAY more portable. I have to say I'm really liking this welder! Take care
Thank you for the time and $ you put into these videos. Much appreciated
Thanks Chris I appreciate your comment 🙂
Your videos are great! They inspire poor hobbyists like myself to keep aspiring in my evenings. Keep up the good work!
I have a hobart 210 for 7 years runs great and out in the field I use a 3,000 watt inverter working good for small to medium sized repair jobs
Great review, I really like the in-depth demonstration of the different functions. This was the exact video I was looking for as I'm debating which to buy for my first welder. Thanks!
Right on I’m glad you enjoyed my video! Thanks
So, what choice are you going to (or have already) make, in buying a new welder?
Really enjoying your videos. As we speak, I’ve got two 35 year old Seelye 240a mig welders that are dead in the water. Have to make some sort of decision on where to go from here. You’re making it a lot easier to decide. Thanks!
By the way, welding repair is $95 bucks to diagnose. Afraid I won't be able to get parts for it. Probably throwing away a hundred dollar bill. Welcome to opinions. What would y'all do?
Wow, I'm actually glad someone went and tested both of these. Honestly had no idea HF was offering 2 different machines, thought Vulcan was the only welding options they had. I'm curious because I've got an old ass Clark 135 that's probably about end of life and looking to upgrade. The more compact machine would be beneficial I think, but I'm curious about the performance with a spool gun and how it performs with TIG. Personally I'm not a fan of foot controls, as I've had surgery on my ankles so it makes it a bit harder to control things precisely, i really wish someone would develop a variable trigger system. I've used 4T in the past as well, but I'd have to try it on both machines to see how well it works before I'd make a decision.
Thank you. I was wondering how they would compare and appreciate your to -the-point style.
fabricated for a living I am retired now and cant afford the welding equipment I used at work (retirement money is way less)so I bought the Titanium 200 and it works great in my shop at home
Thanks for commenting 👍 I really like my Titanium 200 as well, I use it all the time, back when I did these videos HF had not come out with there, good, better, best slogan yet. I bought the Titanium 200 to do a comparison along side my Omnipro, it turned out I liked the Titanium 200 more!
It just fit my needs better, lighter more compact and it really welds great. I’m glad you are happy with yours too. Ps have you seen my mini 4x4 articulating dump truck series yet? Checking out my channel if you get time, I’m running my Titanium 200 and my Titanium plasma 45. Great setup!

My omnpro 220 is a year old too, no issues.Chinese welders have come a long way .I bought a Amico tig 185 about 6months ago a.high freq digital inverter.I use it mainly for field stick welding. It actually runs 6010!.185amp,stick,high freq tig, solenoid in case.dual voltage.I think not cost me 249bucks!
Jeffrey Worth It’s nice to hear that your Omnipro is also working rock solid! I have no regrets buying mine, it’s opened up the possibility to do just about all the welding tasks that my old welder just couldn’t do. Take care and thanks for your comment :)
Are u saying that the Amico welder was definitely worth the money? I was thinking about getting one of their multiprocess welders as well, from amazon. Im always weary of spending more than $100 on one item from amazon, specifically any type of machine, let alone welders. Aloha
Can you run the Vulcan in a generator? (10K-11K) Thanks
@@fernandomarcano4908 i never have, but dont see why not

Thanks can't wait to see future comparisons trying to decide on a welder.
Thanks for checking out my video. I’m looking forward to running these two welders and comparing them. Take care
It looks like this is a great entry level/learning welder as you noted. It's for my garage DIY workshop, I'm not selling anything I make. I saw the add today from HF and wondered if it was worth it. I think it is for me.
Thank you. I've been itching to get a welder, but spending over $400 just wasn't something I wanted to do. And I hate buying used stuff that I don't know anything about.
The more I use both of these welders the better I realize the build quality is. I posted a video covering the duty cycle on both welders in a real world application, they both did great! If you get time check that video out I think you will be surprised at just how capable they are. I also have quite a few other videos covering the other functions like stick, TIG and aluminum spool gun on these welders so check those out as well. Ps I have ran about 22Lbs of welding wire through the MIG gun with zero problems since I bought the Titanium 200 back in December. It’s a solid little welder. Take care
@@Mikefestiva I appreciate the feedback, I think my 'first' welder will be just the $250 stick welder. I'll see how much I actually use it before spending another $400 and opening up my workshop to a whole new line of tools :-)
I have no loyalty to any brand. Loyalty to me has to learned. As a professional, Miller has made it quite clear they are doing my a favor by selling me their equipment. Any repair and that equipment is not earning its keep. I don't care if it comes from Hobart/Miller, Lincoln, HF, China, America, Mexico. All I care about is the equipment does its job at a reasonable price point over its live span. The items I have purchased from HF have done the job. I have used this weld and it worked fine.
I have a Lincoln TIG but need a wire feed welder. Been strongly considering these. Thank your for the no nonsense video.
Thank God you didn't bore us with an unboxing. Just got a thumbs up for that alone. would give you two if I could.
Prices and variety have come down a lot, 3 types of welding in one machine. Wish it was available when I was younger.
I am a welder in the industrial field we have plenty of big miller's we got a omni about 2 months ago its my go to when working in the field I did Change to my personal heavy hitter tig rig but I have no complaints and I run 150amp 10 to 12 hrs a day good welders for the money
I have the 140 and I'm very impressed! I chose it over a Lincoln and Hobart and I'm glad I did!
I am "that Guy" who you refer to in this video. I want to learn to weld without selling a kidney to do so. I need something very basic and your video spelled out the information so that even I could get it. Thanks and I subscribed to your channel so keep going.
Nice to see the aluminum wire feed. My Miller has a pos plastic one that deteriorated after years.
Both of these welders are built quite well, I know it sounds funny because they are from Harbor Freight, but they have really stepped up there quality on these. I have ran my friends Millermatic 200 and I would say they work just as good. Check out my video of real world duty cycle test. They have no problem laying down 150 amp welds on 1/4” metal for long periods of time. Take care
Wow. You are the first person I've ever seen to carry that knife. I love that knife--my EDC. I thought, "A D2 knife for 26 bucks?"
Me too (my kids, actually "Hey, that guy has dad's knife!")
What knife is it?
I subbed on the spring sound affect alone🤣
Mike I also bought a Vulcan omnipro 220 and I've been to trade school for welding I consider myself a good welder and it can handle very heavy duty work its duty cycle is pretty good the best way to run these machines is with dual shield flux core it's got plenty of power to run that also with its relatively good WFS you can get great deposition rates here's the key go to the pure co2 option with mig but run c25 it gives you way more volts on that because pure co2 requires more voltage the machine can't tell the difference what gas your running
I want to upgrade to the new Titanium MIG 170 badly. I have a 110v MIG right now, and I just want to sell it and get the Titanium. Thanks for the vid. I'm awaiting more.
I was limited with a small Lincoln weld pack for a long time, it was a small MIG, so I know how you feel. The Omnipro was a chunk of cash but I have no regrets buying that welder! I completely recommend you upgrading welders when you can, you will be happy you did :) Take care
Great video. I have reservations about hf electronics, but I know these things do work. I'm probably going to spring for a lincoln myself.
I do agree with you on inverter welders. I think they are great, but the electronics are more likely to fail more often than the old transformer style welders imho. It is tempting to buy a inverter welder, but really, I pretty much only need mig for my hobby welding. Tig is interesting, and opens up a lot though...
Mike,
I've watched the three comparison videos and this are great .
Just the info I needed to make a decision. Thanks for taking the time to do them.
Right on 👍 I’m happy they helped you out!
I noticed in store, the titanium doesn’t come with the 1 year risk free trial like the Vulcan does. At 90 days it becomes your problem if it fails. Something to think about if anyone is looking to buy.
Lance Bruhns yes your right about the 90 day warranty on the Titanium, I bought the 2 year no questions asked bring it in for another welder or store credit. They should have offered a one year risk free on this welder like the Vulcan. Take care
You have to pay for the 1 yr warranty with Vulcan. It’s on the fine print on the side of the box
Larry Karr No your not correct, Did you buy the Vulcan? I bought mine and it came with a one year risk free warranty, it was free when you buy it, if you want an additional 2 years on top of the one year you pay another $100. I bought the extra warranty for peace of mind. I also have talked extensively with the store manager and you can add two more years once the 3 years are up for another $100. I may do that down the road just because the way I look at it is $50 a year to guarantee if anything goes wrong you walk in with your old welder and walk out with a new one.
My friend has spent the last 6 months trying to get Miller to fix a problem in his Millermatic 200 and after the third time sending it into them they finally repaired it right. So that’s the Miller warranty for you?
Mike festiva my 1st year was included for free. ~$100 for 2 more years when I purchased mine. I didn’t know that you could add on years of warranty right before the first 3 years expire. Good to know. I think these machines are catching on with people. My harbor freight is always out of the omnipro 220. Solid machine if you ask me.
700 plus like 70 for 1 year warranty, vs Vulcan 949$ 1 year warranty
Hey Mike, Thank you for the tip on the TIPS fitting the Titanium welder. I am just getting started and that was a big help. Thanks dude!
No problem I’m glad these videos helped you 👍
Thank you very much for your help. I am looking at the Titanium myself. You make a pretty bead.
Thanks! Keep an eye out in the weeks ahead for more videos on comparing these two welders.
The "RAWR RAWR" with the clamp and the "sound effect" thing had me laughing haha
I've been welding for 25 years mig tig stick. I'm impressed. I whould buy one.
I really like both welders I decided on the Titanium 200 mostly because of it’s compact size and lighter weight for packing around. Here’s my newest project I’m building, it’s a 4x4 articulating dump truck! ruclips.net/video/vFphyNUhsaY/видео.html
When I first got the unit I forgot to switch it to 220. All it showed was a err notice. Didnt seem to hurt the machine
Lucky Terry Yup. That’s all that happens. Just an error message when you need to flip that switch. No prob.
The video had a nice balance of welding and review comments. Just getting one for projects around the house. Looks like the Titanium will work fine. Thank you!
Great basic straight forward review for the common guy. Thanks!
Thanks Jared!
Duty cycle is nice to have, however if you put need to prep to get further with what you are doing, it should give you ample time to allow the machine to cool off.
Yes definitely, I have worked with welders in the past will low duty cycles and metal prep while giving a welder a break definitely helps it’s easy to adjust your work flow for this. I have actually never had ether of these welder go into a duty cycle cool down when running them. Both are great welders! Take care
This is exactly the video series I'm looking for
william Jarman Nice!
Like I said I will be running both these welders side by side in the videos to come, comparing the pros and cons to help others figure out what welders right for them. It’s strange to me that Harbor freight is selling these side by side? Take care 🙂
I've been eyeballing this welder up the last couple times I went to HF. You convinced me I NEED IT
Thanks for your comment. I have been happy with both welders, I have been welding more with the smaller Titanium welder lately just for the fact it’s more portable, I have been packing it to my work. I’m quite impressed with the real world duty cycles of both of these welders! I have ran the Titanium on 220 volts at 150 Amps for continues welding for over 14 minutes, only pausing to move to the next weld and It never went into a cool down for the duty cycle.
I think both of these welders are great and If you buy one you won’t be disappointed. Take care
@@Mikefestiva Thanks for the update. Definitely getting one soon😃 I need to retire my old Lincoln mig. It's been good but time for a upgrade!
What size is your Lincoln MIG?
We have a smaller 120 volt Lincoln 140 MIG at my work I have used a lot, I have to tell you it’s collecting dust now, both the Omnipro and Titanium weld better then the Lincoln, I have tested them all on 120 volts to be fair and both the Titanium and Omnipro weld nicer and can weld hotter then the Lincoln on 120 volts. I just have never felt the 140 was putting out a true 140 amps. And the duty cycle I have hit many times with the 140 on welding jobs.
I think the transformer style welders have a harder time dissipating heat. I was just talking with a friend the other day, he has a Millermatic 200, it’s a compact inverter welder like these in the video and we both feel like the inverter welders weld nicer then the older transformer style welders. I just figured You might like to know. Take care
@@Mikefestiva I'm embarrassed to admit but I can't remember? Thinking it is a 180HD I'm no expert welder but have done a lot of projects with it threw the years. I'd still keep it around as back up
4T vs 2T pertains more to TIG process. 4t is what the machine would be set to while using a foot pedal for real time

Thanks for your comment, I have never had this option on a welder before.
Good report. My friends and I have been considering this exact comparison. One of us bought the Vulcan but can't stop wondering if the Titanium would have been adequate for what we really use it for. (Mostly hobbies, not professionally)

I just know I still have a lot more to learn but I've surely learned alot an wanna buy a mig/flux core inverter unit like this... And Practice am also make furniture at home an build myself a Gate, also some D.J. trusses... And who knows what else...
Speaking from my own experience I would say no matter what welder you buy I say buy a multi function welder! Before I purchased the Omnipro last year all I had at home was a smaller Lincoln MIG welder, it wouldn’t weld anything much thicker then 1/8” if I had any projects that required welding thicker metal I would take the project to my my friends house, he has higher amperage welders. I have no regrets buying the Omnipro because now I don’t have major limitations with welder capabilities like I Always had in the past.
Plus now I can learn TIG welding! It’s something I wanted to learn but never had a welder that could do that in the past. Now onto the Titanium welder, I wanted to try it out and compare it with the Omnipro, I figured it would be okay but after using it I really like It! The Omnipro is great and has more capability when it comes to duty cycle but for most regular people that weld projects like myself I don’t think most will ever hit the duty cycle much on either welder. The thing I really like about the Titanium is how portable it is, I have packed my Omnipro to my work a few times but it’s a bit big to be hauling around, I have however been bringing the Titanium to my work a lot and welding with it, I wanted to get some welding time on it and it’s been a really good welder!
When you do buy one get the extended warranty so you have no worries if anything goes wrong whether you drop it or something else happens your covered for a new replacement. Down the road when you can afford a gas bottle get one, I welded for years with flux wire but you will be much happier with the look of your welds once you get shielding gas, almost no splatter and beautiful welds. Sorry for the Long reply but I figured I mine as well tell you my experience with upgrading welders, I say the sooner you can get your hands on a welder the better, because you have drive and interest in welding. Take care and I hope to hear back from you in the future with which welder you bought.
2t and 4t are mostly used for tig. Great video thanks for the video
Thanks for your comment!
i also own both and i am a pro welder and love these welders. duty cycle is outrageous my sons titanium welder has not hit a duty cycle yet and we did a whole 2bl spool with out stopping
Thanks for commenting! Yes I’m really impressed with the real world duty cycles on these welders, I welded some 1/4” plate the other day and both welders worked great!
I was running them about 150 Amps and welding almost continuously only stopping I move to the next weld and I ran each welder for over 14 minutes and neither hit the duty cycle. They are great little welders. I appreciate hearing you say the same :) I get a comment from time to time from people that have never used one of these but have already made up there mind telling me there junk, and It seems most of these people are running name brand welders, I run and have ran Millers and Lincoln welders about the same size as these, and these weld every bit as good. Take care.
@@Mikefestiva I would like to say there better than miller and Lincoln of the same price range
Function and features are also way above blue and red
Thanks for your comment! I have been thinking the same, I just hold back on saying much along these lines in my videos because there’s a lot of people that find any reason to say some extremely rude things on RUclips. I did a side by side video of my Omnipro and my friends Millermatic 200 over a year ago and there was some Blue welder fans that definitely didn’t like me even comparing these two welders Haha! The way I feel is how they weld is the true test, both welders welded great! The Omnipro for half the price has a lot more features over the Miller, my friends Miller has actually needed to be sent back to Miller three times now for repairs, so no matter what brand people buy even “ The Best” still break down sometimes. It’s good to hear another person like yourself that has used many welders say your pleased with both of these welders.
Take care
Can I upgrade the tig torch mid gun and rode holder
I have the titanium 200 and the only thing i miss is being able to weld in AC with it . I do quite a bit of stick welding and DC has a habit of producing arc blow on long welds . Other then that i've been real happy with it .
Put your ground clamp.in the direction your welding in.
This is the video that I’ve been wanting for!! Thank you so much.
Short and sweet to the point. Good info Earned a subscriber Keep up the good work.
Right on! I’m glad you liked my video and Subscribed! Take care
Also Mike these welder are great for most hobby welders and diy guys!
I just bought an Omnipro last night along with the spool gun, tig torch and pedal and man it cost more than I really wanted to spend. I'm going to have to keep an eye on your videos while I'm still in my return window. I almost could have bought the migmax 215 and the protig 200 for the same price as I spent so I'm having second thoughts. I wanted multiple capabilities but I also would like to be able to tig aluminum sometime down the road.
From what I have researched the Omnipro will not Tig aluminum. You may want to look a little closer into that.
@@kberkey4028 Oh yeah it won't tig aluminum for sure. What I'm saying is that I got the omnipro so that I could dabble with tig before buying the protig 200 which can weld aluminum but I'm having second thoughts with the welder and every accessory costing over $1500. It would just be nice to be able to get a bit of stainless tig welding done with the omnipro but I'm not thinking it's worth spending an extra $400 over the migmax or titanium and then just getting the protig down the road.
I think you will be happy with the Omnipro, but it is costly buying all the other stuff with it! I bought my Omnipro when it first cam out, then it was on sale for $750, I have not looked into the MIG 215 I bet it’s a good welder as well. Your in the same boat that I’m in, I sure would like to have AC TIG capability’s too! I have been thinking about the protig as well!?!?
@@Mikefestiva Decisions decisions, I wish I was in town when harbor freight had the 15% off sale that was good on welders too.
Great video! Informative and to the point. You have a good teaching ability and explain things well without unnecessary chatter. Subscribing!
Right on! Thank you :)
I'm definitely a hobbyist welder and I'm going to pickup the Vulcan. Thanks for the informative video.
It’s a great welder, I think you will be happy with it 👍
I'm literally a professional welder. My home shop is full of Vulcan welders. They run terrifically.
2T/4T is for Tig, Foot Pedal vs Finger Control. On other multiprocess machines that is usually disabled in Mig Mode
Thanks for commenting, the strange thing is this machine is scratch start, so I guess it would be used to stop the arc with a button but it never came with a finger switch or pedal with it? I have to break the arc just by pulling the torch away quickly then bring it back in for a little post flow gas. I finger button would be helpful for that. I think I’m going to look over the pin outs on the front and see if I can figure out how to wire one up? Thanks for commenting, take care.
@@Mikefestiva Yea not sure never owned or even operated a scratch start Tig, Always had high frequency start? Ran quite a few millers over the years at work and have a AHP at home. 2T is Foot pedal Mode. Pressing down is on, if you have a pre flow their may be a delay, but arc starts with variable amperage based on the max amperage the machine is set to. And off pedal is off, ends arc and start your post flow count. You can run 2t on finger control but its just a on or off switch to machine amperage no control. Unless it is a scroll wheel or a slider, but that is just basically a foot pedal on the torch, having variable amperage at your finger. 4t Finger control is for production work where you know what needs to happen. You press and hold the trigger and you get your starting amperage, release and get your working amperage, press and hold again you down slope to a finish amperage, and release to end arc and start your post flow.
I purchased the Titanium and it did not come with a foot pedal, but for the price, Titanium is Awesome for someone like me that is a hobbyist and not a professional. I still insist on quality and the Titanium has not let me down. It also does not come with the Tungsten tip I purchased my tips from a welding supply for $25 bucks and also Amazon for only $16.00 for the same thing. The Vulcan has a longer duty cycle. Miller and Lincoln have a much longer duty cycle, but you will pay a lot more $$$ !
Right on I’m also a big fan of the Titanium 200.
There’s a lot of good welders out there but just because a welder is sold by Miller doesn’t necessarily make it have a much better duty cycle, My friend owns the Millermatic 200 it sells for about $2000 I have used his welder quite a bit It welds about the same as the Omnipro and the Titanium 200, the Omnipro has a lot more features and better duty cycle then the Miller. The Titanium 200 and the Millermatic 200 both have the same duty cycle. They are both compact lightweight portable inverter welders, both work great but my friends Miller has been sent back for repairs 3 times now in two years! Times are changing and I can’t say the Miller is worth the extra cash???
Take care and thanks for commenting 🙂
You did good. In a lot of these 15 minute review videos they don't strike the first Ark till 12 and a half minutes in
I'm a professional. My home hobby welder is a Lincoln 210MP. Also, I bleed blue, which is Miller. However, my dad is retired and wanting restore some vehicles. He's not a professional but can weld. Looking to try to get him set up with a cheap yet good welder because the bulky crap Chicago that was ancient when I got it, and gave him, is junk. Thanks. Still not sold on cheap welders. You usually pay for what you get. I bought lots of cheap stereos back in the '80s because it was all I could afford. They sucked. Finally got $ to buy better and BOOM! So much better. I think times are changing though. Cheap isn't always cheap. My $100 hood has all the features my $475 hood I bought in 2008 has and just as cool graphics. It is my hobby welder hood though. So, not sure how it would hold up to the abuse I've put my Work $475 hood through. But still........
I here you on older stereo gear, they were crap, but again now days a $100 dollar deck gets you a fairly nice reliable stereo with amazing options. Like you said times are changing and electronics have come a long ways. Hearing what your looking for I would suggest the Titanium 200, both welders work great but the Titanium is lighter, more affordable and after using it for the last month It’s becoming my favorite. I just did a duty cycle test with both welders for a video I’m finishing soon, I welded on 1/4” metal at around 150 amps for over 12 minutes only stopping to move to the next weld and neither welder hit the duty cycle, for hobby, farm and shop welders they really work quite well! Just buy the warranty and you will be good to go. Ps the Vulcan has a 1 year risk free bring it back if you don’t like it and get your money back. The Titanium doesn’t have that, it’s only a 90 day, so I suggest buying the two year warranty and if you realize you don’t like it within that time they well give you store credit for anything else you want? Just a suggestion? Take care :)
Great video, and awesome welds! Thank you for posting this, now I am off to see your tig videos with welder, and hoping you have a year review of this same welder. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for checking out my review videos 👍
Here’s a video covering all these welders, I think you will find the info helpful.

Thanks man looking into getting in to auto fab and metal working. I appreciate your videos as in I don't have a huge budget to spend but was looking bat these welders at harbor freight and wanted to get one but no idea which one I should buy 🤟💯
Very informative. Love your straight forward approach. Keep these coming... please.
Good review and really nice looking welds. Looking forward to future videos..
Thanks Chuck!
Hey Mike, I was wondering if you can do a video focusing on what types of connections each of the HF welders has, and what each one comes with, and what is cross-compatible between the bunch...
Thanks! I'm enjoying the channel.
Great video, simple and right to the point. Don't worry about the comments from these so called "Professionals" its usually some jerk off that just has to have something stupid to say. I just found you on RUclips but I'll be checking out the rest of your videos. Thank you for a good honest heads up.
Haha I like your comment! Your description of the guys making rude comments is spot on! Haha Thanks for checking out my video! I’m sure you will see some other videos I’ve posted that you probably will be interested in. Take care :)
Cool void! I saw a dude selling a used titanium 200 on the fb market for $380 and I'm tempted to buy it. Doing buggy projects with a stick welder gets hard and annoying, it's just over kill.
As long as it works that’s a awesome deal! I’m running my Titanium 200 tonight, starting on my articulating mini tractor truck.
Nice video -Just one thing, inverters have been out for a decade the miller dynasties are inverters and they are the best selling Tig welders ever
Yes my friend has a Miller dynasty TIG and it’s a great welder, I have played around with it a few times. He also has had a few Miller inverter welders give up the ghost in the past, I can’t remember the model of a little TIG he had but it bit the dust, and he has had to send his Millermatic 200 back three times because of a problem with the circuit board, it’s now working again but like I say, most of these inverter welders won’t be getting past down to your grandkids. But I think the inverter welders weld much nicer then transformer welders and I definitely won’t be going back to a transformer welder again. Thanks for commenting and checking out the video :)
Mike festiva def correct and miller is not our dads miller anymore no doubt. Dynasty inverters have been out forever but yes the miller 215 and under are sorta junk but even transformer machines have give up the ghost and or like the miller 350 you can’t get parts for it. Such a shame. Who knows what’s really good these days. Keep up the good videos
I didn't know about multi process welders, this is definitely what I'll get when I finally buy a welder
Yes they both work really well, I probably won’t ever buy a non multi process welder ever again. These are definitely the way to go! Thanks for checking out my video
Just watched video from a HF link. Nice to see someone who actually bought one then did a good review. That's the type of unboxing everyone should do, they are often painful to watch. I've never made it through more than first minute on majority of them (on any subject I'm interested in) Subscribing, you have some other vids I'm interested in.
Right on 👍 thanks for subscribing, I appreciate it! I have a lot is fun projects on my channel.
Can't wait to search for you follow-ups on this, I'm looking for a hobbyist welder. thanks!
Good video and very helpful. Your welds looked great to me. Always wanted to weld but I don't think I have enough use to justify one that needs a tank. With no prior experience it seems somewhat confusing how to go to get started.
Nice video lots of info . One thing I would like to point out . You don't need Teflon tape on regulator because its a seated seal to the bottle .
Thanks for checking out my video! Yes you are correct, I just do it as a back up, I have had regulators and lines slowly leak down, and I have been forgetful before and forgot to turn my tank off. It’s a bummer to go weld and realize your Argon tank is almost empty :( Take care
@@Mikefestiva If it's leaking at the fitting, tape on the threads won't help because it'll still leak between the ferrule and the pipe. Or somewhere else down the line. It's happened to me a time or two, so I put a piece of tape with the word "TANK" on it next to the light switch in the shop, so that I'm reminded to go double check my regulators. Sucks getting old. :)
Prototheria haha! I did that same thing with the tape on a welder at my work because there’s a few of us that use it and there’s been a few time it’s been left on over night.
Hey Mike, I Miller just verified that their new Millermatic 220 multi-process welder has a "capacitor discharge" arc start for the AC and DC tig mode. Big deal. Just saying. Pretty low budget for a $3000 machine. I wanted to share that.
Great video, and those are great looking welds. Looking forward to more with this machine, thank you.
Thanks Chuck :) if you go to my RUclips channel I have a lot of videos covering these welders and there options! Take care
I just scooped up the titanium 200 unlimited. I’m not a welder. But the price was great and I needed one for my homestead. I have never used this type of welder. I messed with my pops old stick welder years and years ago on minor projects. If anyone has suggestions on tutorials or any help on how to use this welder please advise! Thank you. I enjoyed the video. Very informative!
I think you will definitely like the Titanium 200! I did a video a few months ago about learning to Flux weld, I would recommend you checking out that video, I also have quite a few helpful videos showing stick, MIG and TIG with these machines and running a spool gun to weld Aluminum on the Titanium 200. Take care 🙂
I bought the green 200do a lot of rail buggy chassis my Lincoln died so I went to hf bought that been happy with it so far
I really like the Titanium 200! It’s a great welder 👍 do you have any videos posted on your builds? I would love to see them.
Not RightNow been doing a lot of ornamental iron projects. Rail buggy work is usually done from April till October. Was a slow year this year.
Thanks. Looking into getting into welding. Been looking at the HF machines.
Awesome stuff. Can you do a video of your shop setup to include your ventilation system?
