  • This video I teach my nephew how to weld with a MIG / Flux were feed welder. The welder we use in this video is a new flux welder in the Harbor freight Titanium welder line, it's the Flux125 and it's a great little inverter welder for the price, especially if your just starting out as a beginner. This video goes over the basics of welding if your just starting out.

Kid’s lucky to have you as an uncle. I always involve my 14 year old son in my projects. Sometimes, I delay work till he gets home from school, just so he can learn hands on. This kind of work not only teaches them a skill, they also learn values not taught in school. Sure beats playing video games.
    Thanks for a great tutorial.

Right on thanks! I really appreciate your great comment and I’m happy to hear you are teaching your kids to work on stuff.
There’s a lot of kids these days playing video games and not getting out and learning how to build stuff as much any more.
My son is only 2.5 years old but he likes tools and picking with stuff in my shop. You are definitely raising some good kids :) that will stand out as capable individuals as they get older. Take care

One thing I noticed that I also do is the gun angle gets just a little steeper toward the end so it tends to be hotter and craters the puddle or worse. Got to keep that same angle, distance and speed all the way down and ease off at the edge. Good luck Liam you are very lucky to have a patient uncle with a shop. I'm lucky to - my son taught me how to MIGflux long after my rough early oxyacetylene days! He's always quick to tell me "that'll grind out pops!"

Its good to see another young person learning a new skill. The world we live in would be 1000 times better if this happened more often than not. Cell phones, video games,TV, junk media of all types, etc, etc, etc needs to put aside and ignored., I feel that folks, young and old alike should learn a new handy skill that can be applied at home. You never know when you'll need it. Fabrication skills OF ALL TYPES are PRICELESS!!! For example... who sews anymore? Seriously. Its a good skill to have! I can't count how many people that don't know how to even set a fence post, or change a flat tire. You ROCK Mike! Everybody thanks you. I wish you could be my next door neighbor. That would be dangerous. :)

Thank you for the video. I have had an 90amp harbor flux welder for a number of years and some of your tips definitely would of helped me out along time ago. So 1, I am going to get the new one your using here and put some more of your tips to work for me I am sure they will help me out big time.

Right on! I think you will find this welder to be a nice upgrade to your 90 amp welder, I had one of those years ago and I definitely recommend upgrading! Take care

Extremely informative video. I really felt like I was in the room being taught in person. I've watched a bunch of other videos that were longer and I learned a lot more in this 23 minute video I'm a new subscriber

Thanks to both of you. I'm totally new to welding and getting ready to pickup one of these machines. Many things to think about and to know what to work on and what to look at later. Less frustration on the front end if you get your technique out first

This was a very good teaching video. I just bought this welder and am a beginner like Liam (never welded). I have it set up and I'm about to go try it. I am now armed with a lot more knowledge and confidence. Thank you.

I really enjoyed your video, I learned a lot, my mower deck is about worn out and to buy a new one is over $ 800.00 but with the purchase of the 125, helmet a can of spray paint, made some friends trailer Mfg for scraps of metal all repaired for less than $ 250.00 thanks for getting my fears over welding to rest. I was a service tech for steamfitter union for over 35 years and never touched a welder till in my retirement

I have quite a few videos covering a lot of projects and tool info. I would suggest the salvaging cheap to free metal video I did. It gives a lot of tips on finding good metal. Take care

I've had my titanium 200 for about a month . Started out with flux core realized it was way too easy now I'm learning stick LOL

The Titanium 200 is great! I really like mine. Yes stick welding definitely takes a little bit more practice but I’m sure you will be laying down nice beads soon. Then it’s on to TIG :)

Also a thumbs up on the T200! Got one a couple months back, running fluxcore for now and it welds great! Tried stick, haven't had any practice in years, turns out I suck! Will have to do some more stick practice.
