she was one off the best band singer from this era I love her
Helen Forrest was such a great singer able to handle any song. with any band, including a novelty number like this one. Good video. Thanks.
Whether it be with Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, or Harry James, Helen Forrest was excellent. I can't think of one bad recording she ever made . I have just about all her recordings on Bluebird Records with Artie Shaw and 90% of her Columbia Records recordings, with both the Goodman & James Orchestra's, all on 78 rpm and to me they are all equally great ! With that said though, and I also posted this same recording up here on RUclips, the Slack / Morse version is great as well.
Singer Jimmy Rushing was nicknamed Mr Five by Five on account of his physique. The nickname inspired this 1942 tune.
Maravillosa. Hace poco que la he descubierto
Helen Forrest is the best female swing singer!
