    The recordings in this boxed set were made available by Sal Monte and Viola Monte from a private collection of broadcast transcriptions her husband, PeeWee had made during the years he was Harry James band manager and good friend. They were recorded on 10 inch, 12 inch and 16 inch transcription disks.

    Nobody had Harry's sound, like a singing voice, so smooth, rich and connected. Louis Armstrong's sound had some of Harry's qualities, then added his own take to it, making him as unique as Harry and the other eight greats of the Century.

    There have been many great trumpet players through the years. How do they compare to Harry James? They just don't. Harry James is God.
