For the first time in my life, the beautiful song, "Killing me, softly" rings a bell, although this band is quite different, for me. They HAVE "sung my whole life"; however, they've EMPOWERED me & have done me a wonderful deed, by giving me hope for life, after I have been dead.
Same I have been listening to Shinedown sense The Day I was born in 2008 and I am great full that I felt to live in a time with this song and every song of there’s is amazing and so much fun to listen too

I think my favorite thing about Shinedown is that EVERY album is different than the last. They are constantly fresh and new.

Every shinedown album that has come out has come out when I was/am going thru a difficult time in my life. their music has always made me feel better. this song makes me want to get rid of all the negativity in my life.

This just confirms why this band can do whatever they feel in their hearts and accomplish any type of musical influence and turn it into an absolute hit. Every album speaks of a different story to me.
I don’t even necessarily need to be going through a rough patch of my life to enjoy and relate to shinedown on an intuitive level.
One of their many top notch songs, show cases their musical talent, real artists these guys, they have so much that sounds so different from each other but it all works.
I'm in love with this song and I'm so excited for the new album. And I love how ive had the pleasure of watching shinedown grow as a band over the past 10 years, and they are truely amazing musicians!

+Andrew Hershberger What's with everyone and the Disturbed sounding the same comment? A lot of bands do. Breaking Benjamin's new album sounds just like all their other albums too. If it ain't broke don't fix it. For Shinedown, sounding different with each album is just what they're all about. It works for them and that's okay. With Disturbed you know what you're getting, but that's okay too. I wouldn't wanna listen to a Disturbed album and it NOT sound like Disturbed. They always put a unique spin on each album though. Their "Sound of Silence" cover drove me to tears the first time I heard it. The Light and Never Wrong are two other very good songs.
Yes! I was worried that I might not like the new songs, but Cut the Cord and Black Cadillac sound great! I'm sure the others will too.
The good thing about Shinedown is that they are only predictable in one way. That is you know its going to be a great cd. The fact that this is loads different to ' Cut The Cord ' just goes to show that ' Threat to Survival ' is not going to sound the same but be as varied as their other cd's. Personally i cannot wait. Well done guys.

It is like Second Chance grew up then took roids and said fuck you to the world. I laugh when I see people that say RIP Shinedown or this aint Cut The Cord. Really?? THAT is your thought?? OF COURSE it is not like Cut The Cord. Just like Through The Ghost was not Bully. What A Shame is not Sound Of Madness. I think this album based off of the 3 songs I have heard is BETTER than Madness. It is supposed to be. It is how a band grows. If you dont like growth go listen to The Offspring shoved down your throat.
***** That is a fair assessment. They do a version of Leave A Whisper live and acoustic now that is just killer. I dont know always been partial to Madness cause it caught me at a dark time in my life that I saw through thanks to the lyrics and the songs on that CD.

I dont know if im the only one, but i like the feeling this album gives me, i know its different, and that its just what i think the album was planned to be, its rebirth. you jut have to find that sensation, if all you want is repetitive things, look for COD.

They tried way too hard, like intended to do something different but failed. The video may have made my reaction different mind you, 40 year olds acting like modern skate punks is definately silly. I'll give it a listen again, Cut the Cord is better then most songs coming out just seemed forced. It's not like they pulled a Disturbed and seem to be putting out songs just to get them out heh.
+Tim Roane I have to agree ctc was on my 'wtf did you just put out' list when I first heard it. However, lyrically it goes very deep. I now have a deeper respect for the new stuff these guys are putting out. Brent has come a long way, and as he always says, making/writing music is cheaper than therapy :)

Not To be a downer, just here to say two years ago I lost my older brother to an overdose. The night before he reached out to me for help and I pushed it off because I was tired. It would be the last chance I ever had to help him.
If you have a loved one who is in need and asks for help please answer them because you never know if it will be your last chance to.
Lesson I learned is that its better to try a million times to help someone and fail than to not help someone once and never know if you could have helped them.
So sorry, man. Really...

@@billybobscat6233 I have an older brother that had a drug problem, also. I helped him all I could, even paid to bail him out of jail once...gave him money, paid his rent, bought clothes and food and begged him to stop.
I took him to three different rehab clinics and a few hospitals. Even with all of that, HE still had to make the decision to stop on his own. And he finally did.
This past Oct he's been 10 years clean and he seems to be doing really well.
He did drugs for about 25 years and we expected to get the call at any time that he'd overdosed or something. Thank God that call never came. So I really do understand. I really am sorry about your brother. You could have done a million things to help your brother but it still would have been up to HIM to make the choice to stop and to live. Remember that... Take care, man...

It's nice you helped all you could. I understand the fight it takes is hard. It makes me feel better to hear those kind of story's. Still have cousins who are working it out and I'm hoping they will.
