I really wanted to hear from that amazing lady who checks all the sticks! 35 years! You should have interviewed her. I'm sure she's worth her weight in gold to the company over all those years.
Currently using those active grip sticks they are amazing. Pitch match of the sticks are real. Got an old pair of "420 MikePortnoy Signature" sticks with the Majesty logo that I inherited from the friend that taught me drums. He has passed away since and its very nice to have these to remember him. I appreciate what pro-mark does.
I want to know the name of the woman who has probably been there long enough to see a few different department heads roll through. 35 years inspecting drumsticks!
Suggestion : use V-drums and be careful not to trash your sticks. I've had sticks for YEARS. My faves are maple pipe band and Firth quit making them. Highlander HS1
It's actually a pretty clear requirement to disclose that information for paid videos. It's entirely possible (and quite likely) that this was not a paid agreement but rather part of a general partnership.
I/we never got paid by D'addario or Pro-Mark for this video other than a small portion of travel costs covered. Was not a paid video at all and actually my idea to go and film there. It never was requested by ProMark, they accommodated myself and my crew. - Jared Falk
I'm a fan of Promark sticks. Ergo, I'm a fan of that wonderful lady who checks them all. She'll have been there 37 years by now, meaning she's been there since I was 10. Fuuuck.
The drum solo excerpts that you play at 0:17-0:38 and at 4:47-6:21 , isn't that Todd Sucherman's drum solo he played in the Drumeo video? If so, it is well picked because he plays Pro-mark sticks (SD330W), and he is an amazing drummer.
Now I realized, we drummers are responsible of trees falling down and down and down....we love music but environment is the main inspiration to create music. We have to start caring our environment.....find alternative ways in making instruments and protect our environment.
Promark actually has a program completely devoted to restoring the forests and taking care of the environment. Watch the videos on their channel, specifically the How We Show Our Stripes and the Play Plant Preserve video, they care a lot about nature preservation which is why I have a lot of respect for the company.
@Iohbor Rngikseh : i can empathize with what you're saying, but compare all the wood used for drum sets and drumsticks over the years since their invention to that of all other industries and uses in the same period: first, for the construction in ALMOST EVERY home in the world; COUNTLESS pieces of furniture in EVERY single home in the world ; and EVERY single paper product and sheet of paper in EVERY corporate office, small business, attorneys offices, courtrooms, small home offices etc., etc. all across the earth ; oh, not to mention all of the paper towels, plates, napkins and butt wipe we've all used in our lifetimes. heck, even now some ice cream makers are starting to use wood pulp in ice cream for texture. while i hope you understand i'm not lashing out at you, i hope also that you understand that i sure don't have any remorse for trees falling down and down and down that were already going to come down anyway for the products i've already mentioned, cuz like the guy in the first half of the video said, the 86% of the log they don't use goes to some other business for their need to sell to people like you and me for our needs. again, i'm with you on protecting the environment, but i have no guilt for the 2 drumsets i have and the several dozens of pairs of sticks i've used in the past 10 years.
Around $10 for a pair of quality sticks nowadays! A few years ago Guitar Center Clearance Center here in Dallas was selling sticks for a dollar a pair. Manny were promark Vader Etc and many were no name on the stick. The stick that I have always preferred to use is a promark double header, it has a bead on both ends and is a perfectly balanced stick for twirling, they do not make them anymore. So I bought at least a hundred pairs of sticks at Guitar Center clearance for a dollar a pair and will acclimate to the cheaper ones because of the price
So...a $4,000 drum.kit where you get annoyed by $1.00 warped sticks? :) Just be careful not to destroy them. I use V-drums about half the time and I'm careful. Never broke anything on the kit. Broke one stick in 10+ years. :) That wouldn't be worth it to me at all. :)
whoa! That's how drumstick made with band logos or stick drum company logos like zildjian and other sticks. now Ik how drumsticks made. I started playing drums since 2013.
I am too, but after seeing this as well as the VF factory tour, I found it interesting that the processes are both QC'd to similar extents. I don't think either company makes a bad product
I have been to vicfirth factory. There is a lot that goes into making sticks. A lot of which they don’t show you. Vf has a lot of extra steps. Pretty interesting stuff.
As a drummer and a hobby craftsman with a lathe, the doweler would have been one of the most interesting parts of the process to see. Any reason that portion was skipped entirely?
Shout out to the lady that manually checks the sticks for us. 35 years is a long time to support a huge number of drummers.
Tony Lancer yea we should know her name! Very important lady!
So that was 1983
I second that.
@@yungggiraffe The guy who calls her "she" was probably not even born then...

whats amazing if doing that mind numbing job 40 hours a week for 35 years!
"She?"
She doesn't have a name? 35 years deserves first name recognition on a job she does so well.
Michael Kay they may have said her name in that segment many times but it got edited out 🤷🏻♂️
I agree
My wife hates ladies being called SHE, That's the cats mother is her quote!
She ought to have a special model named after her!
Let me guess your going to cry racism because they said she..LMAO good luck ..ill bet She didn't want her name used
Big up for all the workers in this factory, theyre fundamental for all the drummers!!

Can I have all the rejected sticks?
I'd love to know what happens to the rejected sticks ... (because I'd like to have them too).
Slim -- Thanks --- I've never *seen* them ... but I'll certainly go *look* for them. [ - I presume that they *don't* have the Pro-Mark stamp ?]
I'd like the "tiger striped" sticks shes throwing away.
Oh they send those to Ahead to label
My brother got rejected sticks, he said they suck

Interesting stacking method. Stick ends TOUCHING the stick that is next to it.
every product by promark has been checked by someone's grandma, thats so god damn cool.
My first sticks were pro mark if i remember, so they must have come from there and been checked by that lady
Thank you Drumeo for these kind of videos, the one at D’Addario was really cool too!
man after working for vic firth i appreciate the process of making things alot more and appreciate each part of it.
God bless Drumeo and crew for the great works.

No one is going to realise that the background music in the end is Todd's drum solo. The drummer for Styx.
I'm a Pro-Mark 5B guy -- I could (easily !) have watched a 2+ hour programme on how the drumsticks are made.
So cool!!!! I never knew how much work actually went into making a drumstick!!!!!

How to spot the drummer: he has no idea how to hold a microphone 😜
HAHAHA
How to spot the singer: he has no concept of rhythm and the drummer has to prompt him when he muffs lyrics.
Really? Because i find it's always the vocalist cupping the mic and mmake to stage rig feedback...
