I not only main BM because of the damage (which is a bonus) but also because every patch i enjoy taming the new unique pets. Guardians of the Dream added some really cool new ones and i enjoy going back to past locations and collecting some of the rare ones. For me, it's like BM's dont just have to mount collect, we can pet collect too giving us more content :)
facts maining a BM since BC
been a hunter main since vanilla, and this was always something I loved doing. during TBC, I got the Grimtotem Spirit Guide pet (ghost wolf) and when WOTLK came out, Loque'Nahak. now I can have both out and always will :') kinda sad Blizz brought in the grimtotem spirit model for others so its nowhere near as unique, but at least others can get it and appreciate how unique the model is

@GuyerTown and you say that as if consistent decent damage is enough for high keys and raid content... there's always at least one hater who most likely plays mage
I love the Fact it IS a Beast Master Now... I am a Vanilla wow player and have so many unique pets collected over the years…it's nice to finally see them make an appearance during combat!

The long sought after change to Barbed Shot being extended by 2 sec. is what makes this spec insane nw. Because u can keep the dot alive. This has always been the frustration in this spec.
It makes the spec really brain dead tho, just spam barbed shot mindlessly it doesn't matter

BM is straight up monster atm I run a dwarf BM and easily burst over 200k and maintain at 120-130k I won’t get a chance to try my 5 piece tier set bonus now but I image it’s straight up solo mode on a lot of content.
It’s BMs time to shine. It’s cycles. Be happy for them. The world will keep spinning.
Sweaties will still complain about BM because you're not smashing 16 buttons and keeping up on procs and CDs

I jumped back into retail last night on my BM to see the new 10.2 content and ended up being able to solo 3 different world bosses at 437 ilvl. With the speed of mend pet and revive pet you are just unkillable.
its still such a snoozefest to play.. i mean its very VERY chilled when you just wanna sit back and relax.. but it really dosnt get your motor running :D
BM dps main since 2011, always had to defend not maining another dps, never understood why.
Outkite anything and everything, bring your own personal tank(s) that obey your every whim whereever you go, cc and solo any 3-5 people group quest with ease, tame world elites and bosses to fight for you, collect all the world's pets alongside everything else while being the only dps to actually survive stupid stuff by sheer size of kit and skill.
All we need is a bow and whistle to kick some serious butt while going almost unnoticed.
It's strategic, agile, versatile, flexible, useful and just pure fun to play. ;)
Straight up monster, my barbed shot and beastal wrath are always criting, they can basically solo ED elites and now I have my catalyst tier set bonus at 5 . I was pushing 200k burst at 455 IL but now I would imagine it’s going to be even much higher .
I lost count of how many times a party had everyone get wiped but the hunter and then the BM Hunter was able to finish the fight while we all watched. Everybody who made jokes about how lame hunters were get real silent real quick when that happens...
And then we all clapped.
Ranged Pally
BM Hunter is the class I play to have a beer and chill. Easy and strong. Satisfying.
Give us hunters our weapons back! Playing SOD makes me miss having melee weapons show as well

Hadn't played WoW in about a year since DF came out. I did enjoy it a lot but got side tracked with other game releases and personal projects. I came back to WoW to try out Hardcore Classic and I decided to try out a Hunter as I usually just play Warrior/Barbarian in every MMO since the mid 90s (well UO doesn't count, since the best build was a hybrid melee/mage). I was really enjoying it so much that I ended up making 8 of them LOL. I obv wasn't succeeding in HC as a solo so I went back to retail and made a BM Hunter. I've been enjoying it a lot. I found an old build on Methods website I've been using, but gonna try the one you showed earlier in the vid. Need to work on my AOE skills, and remember I have traps.

bm will always be popular dps in the game, even when theyre not meta. same goes for ret pally and dps warriors to lesser extent. i think its the combination of good class fantasy and smooth dps rotation.

I don't know about BM Hunters, but my Survival Hunter RN is literally *murdering* her way across the Dragon Isles RN... 7 levels in ~ 4 hours, never been killed yet.
I took on a Gold rare and didn't even realize my Pet was nowhere to be found til after the rare was dead.

Im hunter main. And my heart is for sv hunter. But i play all specs. And if i remembered bm was only good in last patch of bfa. Sv and mm had a lot of more uptime in dungeons and raids, if u wanna deal dmg. The bm hunter buff is fine. Every patch some classes get op. (last season SL Sv hunter
After hitting 2500 in M+ and playing around with the other specs, I really want to see a rework for MM and Surv. I personally really like surv and MM but it is so hard to justify playing those specs when I can play BM, have freedom of movement, more consistent AoE, and more consistent single target dps.
I play survival and i refuse to play any other spec
Outside of survival's CDs really not making a difference in damage, nothing really wrong with survival and it's gonna scale very well with 4p. I'm already gapping most specs by 30k with just 2p in m+.

im a dedicated marksman...tried survival...and beast master...
there are only 2 choices marksman and beast master.
they should have never separated melee an ranged in a specialisation. (survival just is the worst choice ever.)
I'm not that focused on my pets.. all I use my pet for is to tank in PVE when solo. ( allows me to take on mobs solo )
(make a macro for misdirect on pet, and heal pet, there are some good macro combos, only like ~5 or so but there good. (basically anything that does not share attack cooldown can be macro's)
I full focus on the bow.
(like self heal + potion (if cooled down) + pet heal (example))
or i have no time to place my trap, just drop at my feet button...also handy.
for me marksman is the way to go.
for every placable...like trap/flare...
make like a ctrl+1 shift+1 (place manual and place at my feet button.) (in pvp you want to minimise time).
(youll also start to learn to play hunter different, and learn to jump right in there ,with your mail shining armor..)
stay on the move stay on hunt...follow the trail...never let them come into close combat range.
Why not? Now it's the BM's turn. Not magicians or sorcerers. I think it's good

New player question - if a lot of ppl are playing BM won't it make it harder to get into groups like M+, since I have no rating
I mean, that's true for anything where competition is involved, but there are ways around it, like doing your own keys and making your own personal groups!
You need to work your way up through keys anyway.
I’d say try to befriend a healer or tank and playing alongside them makes getting your feet wet in mythic+ much easier and it’s a lot more fun accompanying a friend along a key

I was coming off of Windwalker monk and wanted to switch to a ranged dps for 10.2. I noticed Balance Druid was doing crazy nubmers alongside rogues and DHs, but I didn't wanna play the 'most op' spec, so went with BM hunter for something easy, fast and fun.
So with the new patch, I'm digging the spec. Personally I find WW, Ret + Fury warrior easier to play. I hate having to refresh every 9 sec or lose all my dps, but I'm getting used to it.
Maining a balance Druid. Just got back into wow, and all the new Druid forms seemed so cool, and its something that I can work towards unlocking. The dot gameplay seems repetitive however, BM Hunter is sounding really fun
If you don’t want repetitive gameplay don’t do BM it’s like 2-3 buttons

Everyone screaming to nerf BM while DH and Rogues are going wild too buy ignoring them. The stigma behind the class/spec and it's damage has people pissed. Funny thing is there was no real major change to BM. All they did was have pets scale off weapons now which is a huge change. We are getting to the point in high Agi AND high Mastery. On top of that BM summons zoo of pets with CoTW, Bestial Wrath (with tier) and Dire Command. All these pets do 100% of the normal damage. This same situation happened in MoP with the OG Stampede when all those pets were doing 100% of the normal damage and now look at it. CoTW is basically a slower stampede but CoTW even in AoE is nuts. However you can now tell the difference between a bad BM and a good BM and I made that statement before the patch and people are finally starting to see it.
If anything were to get nerfed it'll be Dire Beasts. It also doesn't help Mirror and Branch trinkets are a thing and can give massive amounts of mastery. I'm talking over 100%.

Thanks for always hyping up BM Hunter. This spec gets a lot of hate. The day I stop maining BM Hunter is the day I no longer have fun playing it, and that won't be any time soon. (Started playing WoW and BM Hunter at the end of TBC). I don't know why it gets so much hate, maybe because it is one of the most popular specs, as you said, but all I know is that it makes the game fun for me and that is the most important thing for me personally. When Blizz makes it one of the best dps performing specs in the game, thats just a sweet bonus and we enjoy the ride for however long it lasts. 😁

Not everyone want to main a challenging spec maybe because they don't have the appropriate time to master that or whateever reasons.
But my problem is with balance.
You make a spec with 2 buttos, ranged and without a single cast time more powerful than the majority of other casting spec ?
It' s not fair.
I would rework bm to a spec that deal not that much damage, but that bring more utility, due the fact that you don' t have to focus too much on rotation and on mechanics because you dodge theme easier than any othee ranger spec.
I don't know, make the pets that buff allies with a roar or other stuffs like that.
If they dont want to rework the main theme of the class and leave it like that, than nerf it because it' s not fair to others ranged spec.

I never understood this train of thought. Why wish for nerf that will hurt groups overall? Bliz need to make sure classes are competitive. Play what you like and hope that they get the treatment they deserve vs complaining about others. Especially, since BM has not always been in this position historically.

I really hope that Dark Ranger makes MM viable again, BM's cool for the guys who are into taming pets, but the pet AI in this game is awful (Literally need to add /petattack macros to every damage spell because blizzard has a 0.1 second delay by default). And I like the fantasy of Farstriders, elven rangers, Legolas-style bow character rather than haha pet go bark do big number.
It's a 0.3s delay and yeah, you macro it once and forget it. Not that big of a deal

pretty bad balance, no class that needs to interrupt it spells for moving should ever do less damage than a class that doesnt care about movement at all, while casting.
With that logic then no melee should ever be stronger than casters?
@@krucible9369not really melee have the problem of moving out of range of targets because of mechanics sometimes. BM can avoid everything without a single second of down time.

Yeah, was about to make the same comment. I feel like we have decent self preservation as long as you know when the damage is coming (after some dungeon experience) especially with spirit beasts. In super high keys with big damage spikes it get's pretty dicey for sure.
WOW hates Hunters and that is why BM Hunters rule and Not Survival....or whats left of Survival Hunters!?
