While Lloyd may have been a disappointing GHB unit to many, Linus is here to make up for his brother’s poor showing. I think Basilikos is a lot of fun and Linus and Raven can both be deadly if you buff them up even further. Just be careful about letting them take too many hits.
The Sacred Spear Quite an informative video. I've gone with Blazing Light with Quick Riposte 3 and Reposition meaning he can charge a special within one round of combat to help deal with powerful reds as well, making it scary when pumped up by Brazen and potentially chip someone else nearby.
Lloyd's a monster; refine his regal blade for the mage thing, S support him up with omniploy resist/def rally Saias, and the guy will kill anything short of blue units
The only thing I don't like about Linus is that his skills are so good that I don't know if I want to merge or fodder him. The GHB units have been excellent lately in my opinion.

A lot of people seem to forget Basilikos refine ALSO gives plus 3 HP, essentially giving Linus only minus 2 to both defense stats. With Def plus 3 seal he gains 1 def.
James Mikami All he needs is to get hit once, repositioned out, then consecutively attacks with Desperation (and Brazen Attack Speed) and kills. Also if you have him face a lot of enemies in the enemy phase his HP will be at the same level as if he had plus three def or res. In most situations this is sound logic.
I'm glad RNG didn't make me regret choosing Lyn over Roy, since on the original banner I managed to pull B!Roy! ... -Atk. But just recently, he pity-broke me going for B!Tharja with +Spd -Def IVs and I love him so much.

I'm a simple guy. I see pecs and or biceps, I 5*. In all seriousness though, he's an awesome unit and a new addition to my favorites (I hardly favorite units unless they're good to me). Currently building him for TT. Gave him DC, Vantage, and Fortress Res seal in case mages come after him. I've been testing it against the training tower AI mages and he's been surviving thanks to his highish speed of 36 (40 with Hone + Basilikos Spd). I know he'll probably get wrecked in arena with this build but I was never really good at area so that's not an issue for me.
You wasted a Hector on Linus the fuck is wrong with you, you should invest wholly in his strength and speed giving him life and death six with odd atk wave if you have two Ishtars or even speed wave if you have an extra Karla or must give it to an ally and just have a shit ton of strength and or speed buffers he can be super op and a good special like glimmer can truly maximize on his at this point bullshit attack building him defensively is a fucking waste why the fuck would you decrease his attack for his shitty res stat
lmao building up on his defenses may not be optimal but it's not a bad idea, he can afford to sacrifice some of his offense to tank hits better. Linus is also objectively better than Hector.
dried persimmon investing in his defence is a total waste he can already tank hits plus even with investment he still doesn't have very good defences plus he is made for attack and with the potential he has to be a unit with 80-90 atk easy there is no reason not to have him crush most units with it also Hector is way better than Linus the fuck you smoking

It depends on the rest of the team, if you want a tanky unit go for a hp bane instead of res, use either warding or steady breath or even distant counter and quick riposte, if you want a player phase unit I would recommend brazen atk/speed + despereation if you are using wo dao or killing edge (anything besides firesweep sword) and LnD if you want to use firesweep. If you're using firesweep you don't need desperation, you can go for hit and run or any other skill really. In my oppinion, a +speed -hp wo dao+ res refine aether distant counter quick riposte odd atk wave (flexible c slot) and distant def would be my ideal build for soleil. At the moment I use her as a player phase unit with said wo dao (speed refine) aether brazen atk/res desperation odd atk wave and heavy blade on s slot.
I already 5 starred him and slapped vantage on him because I haven't seen a shanna in months. I figure threaten defense 3 brazen attack 3 an attack +3 sacred seal and a attack buff should be enough for him to vantage one shot most melee units. Now we wait for Brendan, Sonia, and most importantly of all a Lloyd with better art to complete the family.
Before this came out, I was theorycrafting a bulky Life & Death user. They would have to have at least 32 def so that L&D would still make their defense 27, a good bulk level. I was also thinking that it would be nice if that unit could also have Brazen Atk/Spd on top of that since they would get the proc easily. I was gonna put that on a slaying weapon so that I could use Heavy Blade to use Pavise for more tanking. But lo and behold, IntSys releases a 32 def unit that has a slaying, L&D weapon and they come with Brazen Atk/Spd. Even for free. IntSys, are you in my head?
I have a summer tiki (or tikini, as i affectionately call her) that has been basically my melee green unit of choice since she was added. She's +res -def, allowing her to beat up nowis easily. And, tho she is minus defense, she still has 29 base defense. She can also beat up camus's alike, due to close defense and a semi-balanced spread. Once refines rolled around, i gave her a +res melon crusher, allowing her to reach 39 def and 38 res with summoner support and close defense and melon crusher. Combined with 52 attack, 32 speed, and quick riposte, she can easily double and kill all blue units and a bunch of green units, including green dragons. She has carried me through a plethera of matches, and I might try to merge her a bit once the summer rerun rolls around. Checking out linus, i recreated him with exactly the same stuff, excluding ivs, in the feh unit builder. He reaches 42 defense and 33 res on an enemy attack, and 1 more attack, 3 more speed, and 4 more hp. The additional HP makes up for having less res. having neutral ivs is perfectly fine, tho -def +res would make him basically the same as my tikini. Moral of the story: Cleavage makes you bulkier.

A fun set to run on infantry pulse teams is: L&D Basilikos Blazing Wind A: L&D 3 B: Hit and Run C: Threaten Def SS: Hardy Bearing If you have 3 infantry pulses on Raven/Linus it lets you have Blazing Wind charged turn 1 and you can deal incredible amounts of damage with no fear of vantage getting in the way. I have a 4*+10 Raven and only the bulkiest of red units are able to survive
One thing that wasn't completely ignored but that i wish had a bit more focus in the video is his defense stat. Let me elaborate on that. Since, unlike Raven, Linus has a pretty decent defense, he still retains some of it even with Life and Death refine, which means you can try and salvage it, and give him some Enemy Phase potential, and that is something Raven can try, but won't do as well as Linus. I suppose you could also forget the Life and Death refine and go with the Def refine for some advanced tanking. Personally, I already got a pretty good IV Raven, Def Bane and Speed Boon, not the PERFECT spread but certaintly gives him what he needs to get going, so I think i'l do something with his Defense to differentiate him from Raven.

Wolfreez Yeah, but IDK, Raven's art just looks...so 2D in comparison to like...everyone else but Hector. Some day I wish they'd both get art updates to make themselves look to be in the same art style as everyone else, it just really bothers me for that reason. :/

I run mine with Refined Basilikos, Brazen ATK/SPD 3, Threaten DEF 3 and his special is Dragon Fang paired with Heavy Blade seal. Still going to look for Desperation to pass down to Linus and he's all set. Let's not imagine what happens if Dragon Fang fires off while he's in Brazen range.
Run Linus with an infantry pulse ally, then giving him heavy blade + galeforce + brazen allows him to proc galeforce after only 1 hit by him and 1 from a melee opponent. This 1 hit usually puts him in desperation AND brazen range letting him attack a second time against whatever he wants without fear of counter hits
Well... I use a one-hit-ko linus build. Life & Death basilikos along with either death blow or brazen atk/spd and atk +3 can usually kill enemies in one shot. He also has a decent 38 spd after life and death, so he can still kill bulky yet slow units. Here's my skill set: Basilikos (Life and Death refine) Reposition (flexible) Glimmer Brazen Atk/Spd 3 Vantage 3 Odd Atk Wave 3 Atk +3 I'm pretty sure you're able to merge one of him to get the atk boost, so you could sack the third one for the brazen atk/spd.
This is kinda fitting. Lloyd’s map in his game was a lot less rewarding than his brothers. Lloyd’s was a fog of war that gives you a garbage armor knight while Linus gives you one of the best axe units and bow units in the game.
Both desperation and vantage are the go-to skills for Linus. In my opinion, vantage is better for 1-on-1 combat and desperation is only good for galeforce sets. However, due to the limited merge potential and above average speed, running heavy galeforce would not guarantee doubling most units (heavily merged Raven is better), plus Linus' high defense stat makes him an excellent melee brawler that can dish out heavy blows while retaining his bulk. That is why I feel that Linus is better off just running vantage.
Raven's bug advantage is mergability. He is now available at 3* and 4* so it isn't too hard to get enough for a +10 Raven which is much better than at most a +2 Linus.
The only thing missing from this video is potential builds from refining Basilikos for defense and making an enemy phase unit. 34 defense is pretty good.
Since Raven isn't as tanky, I gave mine double L&D to completely ditch his defenses while maximizing offenses. 71 attack + 51 speed, amazing. After taking a hit (possible, he has 56 HP) he IS in Desperation, WILL double you, and he either one-rounds everything with Draconic Aura or kills two enemies with Galeforce (remember, 71 attack and Heavy Blade). My first +10 and the only character that managed to convince me of removing S support of S!Robin (now she's quite worse, feels bad man). Linus is fantastic, but he came after I finished the merges, so I'll probably still get one copy to five stars for the different builds you can run with him thanks to the extra defense, that you wouldn't run on Raven, but I won't merge him as I usually do with GHB and TT+ units. Canas will be one of the worst free units, but Linus does indeed compensate.
I love the desperation set. Its very budget and highly effective for the cost. Even if he will never be in my arena core but with the changes to arena assault more units are very welcome
Yeah, I think the first build is most likely his best offensive build as long as you can keep him out of danger from another hit. It’s very similar to my Brazen-Seal Lucina build. She goes from 44/52/40/24/19 to 44/64/52/29/24 with Brazen Atk/Spe (from Robin) and Sealed Falchion active. Now, if only I could somehow get Odd Atk Wave on her.
Carlos Polk Wouldn't her regular Falchion refine be better though? Mine has that, Renewal 3, and QR3 sacred seal. Overall survivability is better for her IMO because she doesn't have DC.
André Rodríguez It depends though. She isn’t really the bulkiest sword user. But she can get by. Plus, for her Bond-Falchion to have effect, she has to be adjacent to an ally. And how often would that happen between Arena and in-game levels can greatly vary. So that’s why I decided I wanted to make sure she would’ve least be able to handle herself should she not be within arm’s reach of teammate, or be the last standing. However, I did make my Masked Lucina with a similar build for healing but w/Reciprocal Aid and the HP seal instead of the CC seal
Carlos Polk It varies a bit, but not much. In my experience, I always have my units somewhat close to each other. Lucina definitely can't tank for too long, but I've found that with self-healing, she can choke extremely well. I've given her Brazen Def/Res 3 from a crappy IV Hardin and Drive Attack 2 from 4-star G!Marth. So my Lucina is built to tank with help. My set-up is Lucina+1(+Spd/-Res) B!Sanaki(+Atk/-HP) B!Ninian(+Def/-Res) Reinhardt+1(+Atk/-Res) By the by, doesn't Sealed Falchion remove the Renewal effect? It doesn't appear on its description.
André Rodríguez Ah okay. That would explain why you made your Lucina tanky. Sadly, my Lucina is +Spe/-Def, so I figured since I can’t really use her to tank all that well (my Josh, Marisa and Soleil do way better), I may as well make her an all-out attacker. Plus, it’s not like I often happen to attack a foe when she’s adjacent to an ally. Defending next to an ally makes sense obviously, great for a double bond effect even. But mine can’t really make use of that move set. And yes, Sealed Falchion does remove Renewal.
I've already got a +5 Raven with Distant Counter and the LnD refine that I've been working on, so I'm not super interested in Linus. I'm almost relieved he's a GHB unit because that means his potential caps significantly earlier than Raven's, despite having a somewhat more appreciable stat spread and base kit for a melee fighter.

Raven +Atk/-HP or -RES Basilikos (Eff) Glimmer Fury 3 Wrath 3 Seal: Atk 3 How to Glimmer every turn with over 60 Atk. I think this should work well with Linus as well.
Man, I was hoping he wasn’t just such a good axe unit so I wouldn’t feel bad if I foddered him off. Kinda sucks that Linus basically has a better S!Tiki statline, and even though she has more res, I run -res anyways so it doesn’t make that big of a difference. Linus is also what I wanted to run tiki but just much better... merges can’t even save my Tiki now because just to be even with Linus she needs about 3-4 merges. Well, I think I know who I’m promoting next!
On the subject of Raven, I never thought Basilikos or its refinement was worth it (especially the dew). My +Atk -Res does enough damage with Death Blow 3 and natural Brave Axe+ to handle a lot of units. Gotta love that second attack.
I already have a 5* Raven, +Atk -HP. I don’t really intend to merge him, but I’ve already built him around both the Life and Death refine and A-Skill, putting him at a 63/45 offensive spread with his weapon equipped before buffs. Is it worth promoting Linus even with Raven as my best offensive axe unit?
Max Moroney linus is still able to be a more tanky but slower Raven. There is still value in having Linus promote to a 5* unit if you want a atrong fast axe user that isn’t strictly a glass canon. I would suggest giving Linus fury or sturdy blow to improve his bulk when you refine Linus his weapon to L&D effect.
I personally like linus more since he's tankier in terms of physical and brazen is rlly strong if u can proc it. Not to mention linus is a hot boi. He also has a cool animation

Honestly newbie question here. I get that brazen skills are great damage/stat additives, but I dont understand how they work. Are they simply turned on for the rest of the battle once your health reaches 80% or are they just a one turn use? Need to know since I'm currently running a Palla with Brazen Attack + Speed and a Vantage 3. Also planning to build Linus here since I dont have an axe user right now, but I wanted to have a clue on how the skill works first before I invest

I want to invest in this unit. But the fact I can never +10 free units is what generally keeps me from investing resources into them. Dew especially, since it's obnoxiously hard to come by.
He got alotta potential! Just both Hectors got him beat in my opinion, just like B. IKE, Dorcas who is a beast and maybe the one to give Brazen atk/spd. I got two of him, and with having him and B. IKE I still only really use one of my Hectors, LA Hector just has alot of res compared to regilar Hector.
The top one is only including the +5 Spd from upgraded Basilikos. He will reach 41 Spd with the Speed +3 Sacred Seal and then a full 48 Spd once Brazen Atk/Spd is active.
I have a bad luck with summoning, so I make myself a hero to cheer me up. I use a lot of resources, but I have +2 meged Linus with refined weapon and galeforce (RIP B!Roy+1). I build team around him and he is great. Cant wait to use him in next arena rotation when he get +4 to all stats. "You cannot escape the Fa(n)gs" ;)
Linus’s default statline looks as if IntSys brought up 42/34/33/32/22 in a meeting for Linus and was like, “That’s not bad.” “...Except that’s very bad because Linus will be free and can’t have IV’s like everyone else” “What if... we just give him +atk -res IV’s at default? Then, not having access to IV’s wont be a problem cus he’ll already have them” And that was genius. They should do that more. Even if they didn’t give him a stellar default set, he’d be great because of that.
I think Linus was made for 2 things: a good new character to add, since Lloyd was there without a bro, and to remind people about Basilikos and it's incredible power. I have Raven already, so I don't really need Linus other than his brazen, but I will still 5* him out of respect for the Fangs
Noah Ashton Linus def makes him bulkier on the physical side an has better attack than raven.If you pair Linus up with a debuffer like for example clarisse than he'll be even tankier without the lnd 3 refine for his axe so he can possibly oneshot enemy units more.
I have a love-hate relationship with Linus. On one hand, he's sexy, strong, great fodder, useful, is free, AND has great fodder. On the other hand, my plus 4 Legion's been powercreeped twice now by common units with the same weapon who are better in every way except hp. The hp DOES make a difference, but like.... why. Legion's gone from a godly unit into a worse version of those two (LINUS HAS THE SAME DEFENSE STAT WITH TWO LIFE AND DEATHS STACKED ON HIM! Along what's essentially 7 more attack and the same speed). What could Legion possibly get in order to compete? My boi needs help, this is getting ridiculous. He's not even getting powercreeped by new 5-stars, just offensively busted common units!

I think Linus is one of the best F2P units we've gotten so far, next to L!Ike, Xander, Camus, CYL heroes (still the most OP), and BK.

Linus and Lloyd are the coolest feh character. I never played a fire emblem game other then feh but the art in game and out look really good Imo.

I figure threaten defense 3 brazen attack 3 an attack +3 sacred seal and a attack buff should be enough for him to vantage one shot most melee units. Now we wait for Brendan, Sonia, and most importantly of all a Lloyd with better art to complete the family.
Before this came out, I was theorycrafting a bulky Life & Death user. They would have to have at least 32 def so that L&D would still make their defense 27, a good bulk level. I was also thinking that it would be nice if that unit could also have Brazen Atk/Spd on top of that since they would get the proc easily. I was gonna put that on a slaying weapon so that I could use Heavy Blade to use Pavise for more tanking.
But lo and behold, IntSys releases a 32 def unit that has a slaying, L&D weapon and they come with Brazen Atk/Spd. Even for free.

I merged him and gave him fury-desp and heavy blade seal and with his reff basilikos he became a real crazy dog, or should i said mad hound?
I have a summer tiki (or tikini, as i affectionately call her) that has been basically my melee green unit of choice since she was added. She's +res -def, allowing her to beat up nowis easily. And, tho she is minus defense, she still has 29 base defense. She can also beat up camus's alike, due to close defense and a semi-balanced spread. Once refines rolled around, i gave her a +res melon crusher, allowing her to reach 39 def and 38 res with summoner support and close defense and melon crusher. Combined with 52 attack, 32 speed, and quick riposte, she can easily double and kill all blue units and a bunch of green units, including green dragons. She has carried me through a plethera of matches, and I might try to merge her a bit once the summer rerun rolls around.
Checking out linus, i recreated him with exactly the same stuff, excluding ivs, in the feh unit builder.
He reaches 42 defense and 33 res on an enemy attack, and 1 more attack, 3 more speed, and 4 more hp. The additional HP makes up for having less res. having neutral ivs is perfectly fine, tho -def +res would make him basically the same as my tikini.
Moral of the story: Cleavage makes you bulkier.

A fun set to run on infantry pulse teams is:
L&D Basilikos
Blazing Wind
A: L&D 3
B: Hit and Run
C: Threaten Def
SS: Hardy Bearing
If you have 3 infantry pulses on Raven/Linus it lets you have Blazing Wind charged turn 1 and you can deal incredible amounts of damage with no fear of vantage getting in the way. I have a 4*+10 Raven and only the bulkiest of red units are able to survive
One thing that wasn't completely ignored but that i wish had a bit more focus in the video is his defense stat. Let me elaborate on that.
Since, unlike Raven, Linus has a pretty decent defense, he still retains some of it even with Life and Death refine, which means you can try and salvage it, and give him some Enemy Phase potential, and that is something Raven can try, but won't do as well as Linus. I suppose you could also forget the Life and Death refine and go with the Def refine for some advanced tanking.
Personally, I already got a pretty good IV Raven, Def Bane and Speed Boon, not the PERFECT spread but certaintly gives him what he needs to get going, so I think i'l do something with his Defense to differentiate him from Raven.

How coincidental that I was brought here after watching that pm1 vid about his refine. That said, I've had him at +10 for almost a year now for reasons :3
I run mine with Refined Basilikos, Brazen ATK/SPD 3, Threaten DEF 3 and his special is Dragon Fang paired with Heavy Blade seal.
Still going to look for Desperation to pass down to Linus and he's all set. Let's not imagine what happens if Dragon Fang fires off while he's in Brazen range.
Run Linus with an infantry pulse ally, then giving him heavy blade + galeforce + brazen allows him to proc galeforce after only 1 hit by him and 1 from a melee opponent. This 1 hit usually puts him in desperation AND brazen range letting him attack a second time against whatever he wants without fear of counter hits
PS. This strat works GREAT on arena defense teams to surprise any opponent not looking close
Well... I use a one-hit-ko linus build. Life & Death basilikos along with either death blow or brazen atk/spd and atk +3 can usually kill enemies in one shot. He also has a decent 38 spd after life and death, so he can still kill bulky yet slow units.
Here's my skill set:
Basilikos (Life and Death refine)
Reposition (flexible)
Glimmer
Brazen Atk/Spd 3
Vantage 3
Odd Atk Wave 3
Atk +3
I'm pretty sure you're able to merge one of him to get the atk boost, so you could sack the third one for the brazen atk/spd.
Ravens hero sprite in blazing sword is based in Linus'.
This is kinda fitting. Lloyd’s map in his game was a lot less rewarding than his brothers. Lloyd’s was a fog of war that gives you a garbage armor knight while Linus gives you one of the best axe units and bow units in the game.

Both desperation and vantage are the go-to skills for Linus. In my opinion, vantage is better for 1-on-1 combat and desperation is only good for galeforce sets. However, due to the limited merge potential and above average speed, running heavy galeforce would not guarantee doubling most units (heavily merged Raven is better), plus Linus' high defense stat makes him an excellent melee brawler that can dish out heavy blows while retaining his bulk. That is why I feel that Linus is better off just running vantage.
You could also play Astra on him. Gave it to my +atk brave Ephraim and he triggers in every battle. Works the same way
Raven's bug advantage is mergability. He is now available at 3* and 4* so it isn't too hard to get enough for a +10 Raven which is much better than at most a +2 Linus.
Linus with Wrath, because it's not a true kill unless it's overkill
The only thing missing from this video is potential builds from refining Basilikos for defense and making an enemy phase unit. 34 defense is pretty good.
Since Raven isn't as tanky, I gave mine double L&D to completely ditch his defenses while maximizing offenses. 71 attack + 51 speed, amazing. After taking a hit (possible, he has 56 HP) he IS in Desperation, WILL double you, and he either one-rounds everything with Draconic Aura or kills two enemies with Galeforce (remember, 71 attack and Heavy Blade). My first +10 and the only character that managed to convince me of removing S support of S!Robin (now she's quite worse, feels bad man). Linus is fantastic, but he came after I finished the merges, so I'll probably still get one copy to five stars for the different builds you can run with him thanks to the extra defense, that you wouldn't run on Raven, but I won't merge him as I usually do with GHB and TT+ units. Canas will be one of the worst free units, but Linus does indeed compensate.
Now can we get the artist for linus to redraw lloyd?
I love the desperation set. Its very budget and highly effective for the cost. Even if he will never be in my arena core but with the changes to arena assault more units are very welcome
If you want to run a defensive set you could always upgrade Basilikos with +Def with Steady Breath and Aether. Basically a makeshift B!Ike

Yeah, I think the first build is most likely his best offensive build as long as you can keep him out of danger from another hit.
It’s very similar to my Brazen-Seal Lucina build. She goes from 44/52/40/24/19 to 44/64/52/29/24 with Brazen Atk/Spe (from Robin) and Sealed Falchion active. Now, if only I could somehow get Odd Atk Wave on her.
Carlos Polk Wouldn't her regular Falchion refine be better though? Mine has that, Renewal 3, and QR3 sacred seal. Overall survivability is better for her IMO because she doesn't have DC.
André Rodríguez It depends though. She isn’t really the bulkiest sword user. But she can get by. Plus, for her Bond-Falchion to have effect, she has to be adjacent to an ally. And how often would that happen between Arena and in-game levels can greatly vary. So that’s why I decided I wanted to make sure she would’ve least be able to handle herself should she not be within arm’s reach of teammate, or be the last standing.
However, I did make my Masked Lucina with a similar build for healing but w/Reciprocal Aid and the HP seal instead of the CC seal
Carlos Polk It varies a bit, but not much. In my experience, I always have my units somewhat close to each other. Lucina definitely can't tank for too long, but I've found that with self-healing, she can choke extremely well. I've given her Brazen Def/Res 3 from a crappy IV Hardin and Drive Attack 2 from 4-star G!Marth. So my Lucina is built to tank with help. My set-up is Lucina+1(+Spd/-Res)
B!Sanaki(+Atk/-HP)
B!Ninian(+Def/-Res) Reinhardt+1(+Atk/-Res)

André Rodríguez Ah okay. That would explain why you made your Lucina tanky. Sadly, my Lucina is +Spe/-Def, so I figured since I can’t really use her to tank all that well (my Josh, Marisa and Soleil do way better), I may as well make her an all-out attacker. Plus, it’s not like I often happen to attack a foe when she’s adjacent to an ally. Defending next to an ally makes sense obviously, great for a double bond effect even. But mine can’t really make use of that move set.
And yes, Sealed Falchion does remove Renewal.

I've already got a +5 Raven with Distant Counter and the LnD refine that I've been working on, so I'm not super interested in Linus. I'm almost relieved he's a GHB unit because that means his potential caps significantly earlier than Raven's, despite having a somewhat more appreciable stat spread and base kit for a melee fighter.
I think the defiant skills need a rework. Something like +10 instead of +7 or have it activate when HP
if they were active at 100% they'd just be completely better than the stat boosting skills tho lol
oh shit my bad, read that really quickly. that being said, I feel like it'd be better if all the defiant skills were just upgraded to brazens, I feel like brazens are the "new" version of defiant skills.

I would replace Drive Def for Threatan Def. Just so he can deal out more dmg. And he is a solid unit to have/ use if not having good axe users.

Man, I was hoping he wasn’t just such a good axe unit so I wouldn’t feel bad if I foddered him off. Kinda sucks that Linus basically has a better S!Tiki statline, and even though she has more res, I run -res anyways so it doesn’t make that big of a difference. Linus is also what I wanted to run tiki but just much better... merges can’t even save my Tiki now because just to be even with Linus she needs about 3-4 merges. Well, I think I know who I’m promoting next!

On the subject of Raven, I never thought Basilikos or its refinement was worth it (especially the dew). My +Atk -Res does enough damage with Death Blow 3 and natural Brave Axe+ to handle a lot of units. Gotta love that second attack.
I already have a 5* Raven, +Atk -HP. I don’t really intend to merge him, but I’ve already built him around both the Life and Death refine and A-Skill, putting him at a 63/45 offensive spread with his weapon equipped before buffs. Is it worth promoting Linus even with Raven as my best offensive axe unit?

Max Moroney linus is still able to be a more tanky but slower Raven.
There is still value in having Linus promote to a 5* unit if you want a atrong fast axe user that isn’t strictly a glass canon.
I would suggest giving Linus fury or sturdy blow to improve his bulk when you refine Linus his weapon to L&D effect.
I personally like linus more since he's tankier in terms of physical and brazen is rlly strong if u can proc it. Not to mention linus is a hot boi. He also has a cool animation

Honestly newbie question here. I get that brazen skills are great damage/stat additives, but I dont understand how they work. Are they simply turned on for the rest of the battle once your health reaches 80% or are they just a one turn use? Need to know since I'm currently running a Palla with Brazen Attack + Speed and a Vantage 3. Also planning to build Linus here since I dont have an axe user right now, but I wanted to have a clue on how the skill works first before I invest

He got alotta potential! Just both Hectors got him beat in my opinion, just like B. IKE, Dorcas who is a beast and maybe the one to give Brazen atk/spd. I got two of him, and with having him and B. IKE I still only really use one of my Hectors, LA Hector just has alot of res compared to regilar Hector.
I have used Legion as my fast axe unit for a long time so I'm not sure if I should upgrade Linus

The top one is only including the +5 Spd from upgraded Basilikos. He will reach 41 Spd with the Speed +3 Sacred Seal and then a full 48 Spd once Brazen Atk/Spd is active.
I have a bad luck with summoning, so I make myself a hero to cheer me up.
I use a lot of resources, but I have +2 meged Linus with refined weapon and galeforce (RIP B!Roy+1). I build team around him and he is great. Cant wait to use him in next arena rotation when he get +4 to all stats.

If you already have a +Atk raven, the only thing Linus really has going for him is his higher def. Aside from that, he's good fodder.

Noah Ashton Linus def makes him bulkier on the physical side an has better attack than raven.If you pair Linus up with a debuffer like for example clarisse than he'll be even tankier without the lnd 3 refine for his axe so he can possibly oneshot enemy units more.

I have a love-hate relationship with Linus.
On one hand, he's sexy, strong, great fodder, useful, is free, AND has great fodder.
On the other hand, my plus 4 Legion's been powercreeped twice now by common units with the same weapon who are better in every way except hp. The hp DOES make a difference, but like.... why. Legion's gone from a godly unit into a worse version of those two (LINUS HAS THE SAME DEFENSE STAT WITH TWO LIFE AND DEATHS STACKED ON HIM! Along what's essentially 7 more attack and the same speed).
What could Legion possibly get in order to compete? My boi needs help, this is getting ridiculous. He's not even getting powercreeped by new 5-stars, just offensively busted common units!
