Let's get you guys up to speed on how to get the best quality out of your GoPros. We are using a Hero 9 in this video but the settings you see should be pretty applicable to earlier models as well!

I’d like to add that when you upload your footage to RUclips, use a high Mbps like 75 or 100 at 4K or RUclips will compress it and make it look like garbage. I wish I’d known this a long time ago. I just figured this out recently and almost nobody mentions it when taking about GoPro settings. It really sucks spending time making a video just to have RUclips make it look like amateur hour up in here...🤬 Anyway, digging the new channel, Chase!

Oh snap I didn't know you had this channel. But great video man, I have used very similar settings, really recently learned how to color grade to get great images. I bounce between CPL filters and nd, AZ has a bunch of glare so cpl makes it perfect. I recently started shooting in 24fps in 4k, I used to use 60fps but since I started doing different types of videos on my channel, the 24fps is just nicer. Only 60fps when I mess with speed in post.
Oh suggestion! I have a canon m50 and mainly use a sigma 16mm with it, any suggestion on the best "other" lens to get with it? Or what's the best type of lens for all in one filming in garage situation using a mirrorless camera :)

@@ChaseBueker not sure if it could be basic outlines for things like doing b roll footage of bikes to show off the looks or even ways to structure your videos and editing features you found have worked for you
I've got a GoPro 4 Black, and I recently found that bringing the exposure compensation down to -1 helps a lot! I bet they fixed it in years since. I need to get an ND!

Hey got a question.
Can you shows us, motorcycle riders / photographers what camera bag you use to ride and keep all your gear safe. Bcz I don't feel that a normal camera bag for photography does well on a bike. Also what else you use to photograph motorcycles (camera , lens, lens filters, etc maybe *lightroom edits ).
But it would be a huge help on the camera bag problem I'm having. Just don't feel camera bags are good enough. To stay on or keep the inside safe.
Great video Chase. On the shutter I was always told to run the shutter at twice the FPS? I’m not familiar with the latest go pro settings so is the shutter on that the aperture or the shutter speed?
Ive always used an ND on my dji osmo action but carry 4 with me (one on camera snd rest in my bag) covering ND0 to ND16. That way I can keep the shutter speed to twice the frame rate.
I use all the pro settings and have for years, still need to sort ND filters!!
I doooo really want to get a hero 9 too, is it a worthy upgrade over the 7 black?

If you are going to grab a set of ND filters I would 100% upgrading to the 9. I really do love how they twist on and could never go back to using the old ones on earlier model GoPros.

OC - Check out GoPro Labs (part of GoPro), update your GoPro(s) with this update and use QRControl app. Uses QR codes to do all your settings, if you use a lot of GoPro's all can be done at once
does Audio setting "WIND" works when you connect audio adapter?
I just got one and am looking for motovlog setup videos. Got the media mod and it just is impossible to plug the mic cables in back without it hitting helmet. Without media mod using the mic adapter is fine but was hoping to use the media mod for a cleaner look. Man GoPro is annoying sometimes. Also media mod doesn’t work with a screen protector! How do you use the hero 9 on your helmets? Maybe the chin mount helps but they don’t offer one for my helmet.
Do you find that the ND filters intrude into the corners of the frame? I have the PolarPro kit for my Hero7 and it's totally visible in the corners when I use Superview.
I have noticed that with older GoPros but not with these Hero 9 ones. That's one of the reasons I like them so much. They fit and work like they came WITH the GoPro itself.
So I’m starting a moto vlog channel and bought a hero 7 white come to find out it’s not compatible with gopro’s mic adapter is there a GoPro that is a good replacement for it?
I've always thought the quality of video and photo ( like when your Engament photoset) were great sadly I am only working mynphone camera and wish I could get YOUR type of explanation on setting for pro mode and other truck and tip for us phone photographers !
Hey chase.. I am using de max lens on the GoPro 9.. no ND possible.. would you recommend to adjust de ev setting then ???
Adjusting the EV settings is just going to make your image darker or brighter. For that specific situation I would use a combo of setting your shutter speed so that it doesn't change. Use the 2x rule and make the shutter number 2x what frames you are shooting. (Example: Shot in 4k 24p and your shutter should be 24 x 2 = 48 or as close to 48 as you can). Then if that's too bright THATS when you use the EV to dial in the exposure. Good luck man!

@@ChaseBueker I was thinking anything shot with this videos setup you are using the Gopro for. I just bought a Gopro 9 and using your exact setup all the way to the same brand Nd filters. Im interested in how you edit a video. Transitions Color Grading and any tips creating videos. Actually a first ride video would or any riding video would work awesomely. My personal use for this camera will be videoing stunt rides.
the hobo 9 is a piece of trash, if your lucky enough for it to actually not crash, thermally shut down and actually work when you need it; amongst other issues then your lucky. way to many gopro fanboy sites leading the blind..... sorry.... sold my 9 and was glad to see it gone. Stuck with my 7 till someone else gives me a reliable alternative. the unit is working overtime to do what it is and its causing all sorts of issues - POPPING being the biggest unless you want to make the 9 bigger with an expensive media mod for something thats not needed
