The kunefe is a traditional Arabic dessert made with shredded phyllo, a cheese filling, syrup, and nuts! It is said to have originated in Antioch, Turkey, but it is equally popular in countries of the eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, where one finds different variations of the dessert with different names, such as Knafeh, Kunafa, or Kanahef.

Greetings from Türkiye 🇹🇷🇬🇷
Thank you for this wonderful recipe. Love from Turkey ❤
Greetings from Turkey. How lovely to get a Künefe recipe from you. It looks yummy!❤
AKIS 🇬🇷🇮🇹 è uno spettacolo guardare i tuoi video sono fantastici....sei NUMERO 1️⃣👍💪💪♥️♥️♥️
I have test it for the first time in Damasque, is indimenticable❤
I made it now. It was amazingly delicious and easy. I just needed to flip it over few times to ensure it is crusty and golden brown but it was well worth it so thank you Akis!
love from turkey
Why am I watching this on a diet?
Must be because he's such a gorgeous guy!😂
😂
Same. I am also on a diet but Akis is really good with food advice. I use regularly his recipes. 👍
Thank you Akis, today I am making it for the 3rd time, i cant get enough of this...WHAT have you done Akis? lol ❤
Whilst traveling through Northern Greece Ήπειρος - Γιάννενα - I had discovered a morning pastry not dissimilar to the Turkish one in your demo here. It would include cheese as well as a semolina custard filling and tho made use of straight forward Phyllo rather than καταιφι - with drizzle of a honey syrup the locals called βουγατσο-τυρόπιτα. These puds are all very tasty indeed - very nice
Epharisto komşu, it looks yum😋😍
Greetings from Thessaloniki Greece.
For more traditional result you need "akawi " cheese it is sold in many of the refugee shops in Thessaloniki
You need to put it in water to remove the salt and then you do the recipe the same way
If you have access to Arabic shops ask for it , it really makes a difference in the taste
I love the Akis touch, thank you!
Akis i discovered you 5 years ago! Your style of cooking and communication is great! You are absolutely gifted!!! And thanks to many of your recipes so lovely to realize that Greek and Turkish cultures have a lot of commons, especially their cuisines.. All the best wishes from a Turkish. (And yes, you are a perfect "diet killer " 😂)
The two forks! LOL! 😂❤
Thanks bro
I believe Selim from Selim Bey in Maroussi approves. :). Once I am off this dreaded medication, I'll make it; for now, I can only resist.
OMG that looks yummy 😋
Is low moisture mozzarella a good substitution for the peyniri or is regular mozzarella better?
I use the low moisture mozzarella!
@@akispetretzikisen Awesome vid man! Mozzarella perfect substitue but missing some salt, a tiny bit would go long.
Top!!!!
My Egyptian in laws do it the same way except without cheese, but i will do your recipe for them. Thank you looks lovely 🇧🇬🇹🇷
how kunafa without cheese
@@palestinabaddie yes the do it with thick cream, basically you cook it without it and apply the cream afterwards. İts also good but cheese is the best
İt is 'tel kadayıf' dessert.. not künefe.. made with pistachio or walnut
@@muratorhon ah ok so it has a name. İn Egypt they call everything that is made with kadayef Künefe. Teşekürler
Thank you.
Why am I watching this and dreaming of making this , I have diabetes 😢
I prefer to use χάνη (hhhhoney) rather than soogar for the seerupp. 🙂
😊😅😍 full of flavors extra dessert...👍👨🍳💫👌🤩😛🌸🍀
🙂☺ thanks Akis for 🌸💚 & grretings 👍🌞🍀
It’s Lebanese…
Its syrian
Nice!
Weird choice of recipe from a Greek gentleman...Should have at least said it originated from Palestine.
It is SYRIAN. Was never Turkish....
Originally syrian, passed to greece by turkish
I have tasted the Syrian version. Thanks, but no thanks. Not the same thing.
So it's two Akis in the kitchen. Can we see the second Akis in one of your next videos?
If I remember, the name of the other guy is Takis. In Greek there are more similar names like Sakis, Lakis or Makis. I think I got them all.
@@seliku 😮 ok, thanks!
The video producer is called Lakis.
@@angrypotato_fz 👍😝
Turkish ??????))
Why didn't you call it kunefekis?
I don't want peace, I want to argue 😂
Jokes aside, both nations share a lot with each other.
Many fruit and vegetable names were transferred from Greek to Turkish, and some food names were transferred from Turkish to Greek, but I hated being an educated person and wanted to have fun like a troll.😅
😋😋😋😋😋😋
😯😍!!!!
If it's an Arabic dessert then why call it Turkish? At least you didn't call it Israeli 😂
kunafeh is palestinian 🇵🇸
Nope ... it's Turkish ... Ottoman Turkish to be exact
First
Ela re, dont be shy to say its Arabic Palestinian: you can read more here:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knafeh#:~:text=Kanafeh%20Nabulsieh%20originated%20in%20the,kanafeh%20is%20the%20most%20common.
He is not shy. For greeks is known as a Turkish dessert, despite is origin.
@@mariasachinidi4799 Thanks for Clarification :)
