OKOP okay op okay storytime ok storytime
As an Arab, I'll explain what is wrong with the first story. OP's mother who was 21 probably was already in love with the guy she cheated with and probably forced to marry OP's father because of a business transition and the poor girl got caught in the middle of something she didn't want at all. Unfortunately FORCED arraigned marriage (VERY different from arraigned marriage) is a thing in Africa, Middle East and south Asian culture regardless of religion. It's just culture that in some of these countries is illegal and the girl usually is too scared to stop this, even though she could because of her father. She can be disowned. The problem is that the OPs mother was probably forced to get married and that's a big no no.
Pretty sure the story said OP’s mom’s affair partner was 8 years younger than her. So when OP’s dad met OP’s mom, OP’s AP would’ve been 13
Edit: Yes, he was 8 years younger than OP’s mom
@@MegaMyown I got the impression that he was 8 years younger than the OP's father. You may be right and I misunderstood or vice versa. I wish we can ask OP. lol
@@GirlieAndroid 1:05 mark, the story says, “When I was ten, my mom admitted to my dad that she’d been having an affair with a guy named Sayid who was 8 years younger than her and asked for a divorce.”
@@MegaMyown Good catch. I stand corrected. So my theory about this particular story is debunked. Thank you bringing it to my attention.
@@GirlieAndroidyou are likely still very close in that that she didn’t want the marriage, only difference is that they met and fell in love later
Did I watched the livestream? Yes.
Am I still gonna watch video this from start till the end? Heck Yeah!
I love it when John and Sophia do accents and play off each other.
Yes she was sold / given in return for money.
The problem with schizophrenics is that once they are medicated and feel "normal", they decide they are cured. stop taking the meds. and immediately relapse. A supportive family can insure they continue to take the meds. deal with any side effects, and there are usually no further problems. This guy obviously wasn't doing that.
I’m on anti-psychotics, not for schizophrenia but something else used off label, but it is actually medicine developed specifically for schizophrenia, and I’ll tell you, tbh at not the biggest reason people go off the meds. It’s part of it, but the medicine needs to be taken almost religiously at the same times every day or your build up will drop. Even missing by a few hours can cause worsening symptoms let alone forgetting. Wanna guess what one of the most prominent side effects is? General absent-mindedness.
Basically, it’s a medicine that need to be taken diligently on a schedule with a lot of diligence but at the same time one of the most common side effects is essentially doing that “why did I walk into this room again? Oh well, I’ll remember later” thing.
Case in point: I forgot I already used the word diligent in that sentence half-way through writing it.
Im on both antidepressants and antipsychotics. I have severe general anxiety disorder diagnosed. And more. I would stop my meds if I wasn’t just anxious. I understand fully people with schizophrenia. I knew I was was hallucinating in some way, schizophrenic people don’t. They truly have a disorder that is the equivalent of cancer
Plenty of people also never have that issue, I’ve know a couple people with schizophrenia who took their medication consistently without anyones help for years and have never had an issue
@@mickymcbryan4814 not at all the same kind of medicine but I’m on birth control for some medical issue and it’s the same way, taking it even just a few hours late can fully make it not work and i understand how EXTREMELY difficult that is. I have to have multiple different alarms to be able to do it every single day. Definitely harder than people think it is, especially if you have memory issues to begin with
Personally I don’t think you can call it cheating if you FORCED the person to marry you. That is not a real relationship. Arranged marriages can be real relationships if the people involved decide they love each other. You don’t get to just claim a woman as yours without her consent and then be mad when she doesn’t love you
"My son-in-law is furious at having to pay that and that it's insulting he has to be given a legally mandated amount to send his children"
Okay so he's mad he has to pay CHILD SUPPORT!?!?!?! That's kind of the deal when you HAVE KIDS & get DIVORCED bruh.
I will say as a child of an icky marriage myself, I almost don't blame the mom for cheating. I know my mom's circumstances and if it's similar to that than the mom may not have been allowed anything else even if she tried to go back home.
Not all arranged marriages end up bad, heck, only my parents out of the 6 arranged marriages that there are on my mom's side are doing poorly. But as you'd expect, kinda relies on everyone's consent haha
Ya I personally don’t see how you can call it cheating if they never consented in the first place. Cheating requires you to be breaking a commitment YOU made if you never had a choice to make a commitment you aren’t breaking anything
I found the camel quiz and i'm worth 72 camels
How is that a thing 😂

Found it too, you won. I’m 71 😂

I'm 6'6" blue eyes in Data Analytics and have a trust fund lol.
But not 6’5” 😂
@@rde3586 I know I'm too tall :(
I wasn't stood up on my birthday but the last time I tried to organise something, my friends talked over and ignored me until I gave up. I haven't spoken to any of them for years.
Im currently finishing the 10 hour episode so i will watch this one once im done 😂
This is what true commitment looks like
Middle East guys do this all the time! They get full custody of the kids and most women stay no matter the circumstances
I am 6'0, I am a nurse lol I loudly roll my eyes when people suggest modelling or basketball lol
My niece is 6'2", my nephew was 6'4", brother in law and his 4 siblings are/were 6'5". I'm 5'3" lmao
My fiancé is 6’5. I’m only 5’3. So pictures are pretty hard. His family is also fairly tall as well (though he’s the tallest) His youngest sister is right at 6’ and she literally could be a model. She’s perfect.. even though she’s a little self conscious about being tall. I don’t think she understands just how gorgeous she really is. It makes me sad. On another note, my best friend was born in Egypt. Her mother grew up in NY and her father is Egyptian. She’s also a good bit younger than he is. She eventually did divorce him when my best friend was pretty young but I remember her telling us that it was pretty hard for her to finally receive a divorce from him. If I’m not mistaken, I think her and my friend just basically fled back to the US and he eventually just gave up and divorced her. How they ended up in the middle of nowhere Alabama (where we’re from lol)… I will never know. My friend has told me a lot about the differences in culture. It’s pretty interesting.
Jane’s logic: Hey, can I borrow $100?
OP: No.
Jane: Ok fine. I’ll settle for $200
OP: No.
Jane: *OK FINE!!!* Final offer, pay me $1,000???
So this guys mad his wife got mentally ill when he literally made vows to be together in sickness and health 🙄

So when can we expect our OK Storytime Licenses to practice 😉. i love that you are using the members only streams for the regular posting days! I hadn't gotten completely caught up on this one. Hope all OK Storytime Fam is having a great day!
I have been stood up on my bday 3 times.

An annulment is like the marriage was never officially legally recognized due to false pretenses or circumstances that have changed the dynamics of the relationship drastically.

(From the first story)
Volleyball!!!! 🏐
Guys, I didn’t receive my license to be a therapist from this show. I received it from having friends who were in fucked up relationships, trying to walk them through why the relationship was bad step-by-step, only for that friend to agree and immediately go back to their partner. Back in my day (millennial) we didn’t have the fancy “RUclipss” and “TicTacs” that licensed us as therapists. We had to earn it back in my day by pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps 😤😆😂
I NEED these worms
“May first is a bit cursed” In my opinion, I wonder if the update is gonna be bad
I am 6'3" and I am an Electrician by trade. I now teach other men and women to be electricians and mechanics. I do learning and development training and development. 🔥❤️
With a woman that tried to get her ex to raise her baby I’d be scared she put OP’s name on the birth cert and then tried to sue him for child support. Idk if it’s possible he’d legally be obligated to tho since he has history of her infidelity but crazier things have been approved in court.
According to the app, I'm worth 62 camels. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 🐫
32:07 I think the worse cheating would be with a family member/ friend
Don’t worry Sam you’re worth ALL the camels 😤
38:59 For every friend that’s trying to justify Jane’s cheating, I would send the evidence of the cheating with the words “2 years, no condom. This was intentional not a mistake. Not my kid not my problem”
my night has been saved
Jane’s friends: wow op, you’re an asshole for not standing up for all that Jane did for you. For 50% of that relationship, she was 100% loyal. OP despite her tiny, itsy bitsy, little, teeny weeny mistake of _”cheating”_ for half of your relationship, she was a great gf. You didn’t know she was cheating on you and you were happy _SO CLEARLY_ your relationship was great…it’s honestly like she never cheated on you 🙄😆😂
But how many camels is Riley worth?? Lol
I've heard this already.
I'm worth 61 camels, sounds like a lot but might not be😂
it's port Saeed . Sophia was pronouncing it right! (bilingual arabic)
I think they said new episodes every other day
Cheating unprotected and/or having a baby while married.
Did this stream get cut off at the end?
I’m sorry that girl who cheated for two years karma came calling you can’t be surprised you can’t undo what you’ve done please learn from this
Hi guys! Please, I really need an update for the story of the rich Chinese family that disowned their middle daughter for not being born in the Dragon year. I couldn’t get my mind off of it and it’s driving me crazy.
13:10 the problem all along was that we were looking for a man in finance…we were meant to be looking for a woman! 💅
ANYONE can develop mental illness family history or not that’s always a “risk” you take when you marry someone. Just like how any other medical issue could pop up. Imagine a person trying to claim the marriage was a lie because their partner got cancer
I Love your Shirt Sam!!!! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
❤Riley
You’ve read this before…no?
guys, so… when he said Said was 8 years younger, he was talking about the mother or the father? Cause if he was 8 years younger than the mother he would have had 13 at the time 😨
It was a lovely story I was at first was upset with the mom, but it seemed like she tried everything in her heart to do what she had to do. I’m glad that OP got to see his mom and it just seems like they’re gonna have a good rest of their lives.
Hey! Dont bash on riley! I know what he meant by the comment of a woman being tall and becoming a model or a basketball player, and i agree if i was that tall i tried those 2 things first as they would hire me most likely immediately to take advantage of my height,
I feel like that story with the baby and cheating was fake.
Muslim Brotherhood
Was this from a live? Or a repost? All of these stories have been read before.
My birthday was may 31
I got 69 camels 😂
YIPEEE
22:14 sam has brown hair. Sophia is a blonde tho
YAYYYYYYY HEREEE
It’s driving me nuts that you can’t realize that it’s a male child.
Why does it matter?
@@angelaveneziano1684 possibly because the entire concept of the show is reading and understanding stories, and giving feedback based on that understanding. Gender can make a huge difference in a story although I don’t believe it made too big of one in the first story. But they do tend to have poor reading comprehension quite often, which can be frustrating at times. Like in the last story when Sophia reads it as “sister in law” instead of “son it law,” it definitely changes the story
I've already watched this one! It's great.. buuut.. new episode?
It was part of the member only lives it’s how they’re gonna record from now on cus we make them better
@@mslgmercer Is every live public now? I am missing some info. Is it because they want to do podcast on the road? I guess it is good for the brand but I loved the program as it was. But I get that it was exhausting.
@@persagribaNo no. The new model is that there are new episodes every other day, but the ones that aren't new to members are from the members only live stream. They're still working things out with the rebrand, but we will still get content that is new to everybody.

Have Mercy I'm 5'1 and would love to be taller, but then again I do like my man to be tall and climbable, I might miss the claim, 😂
Not really a fan of watching the lives and then thinking that there's new shows but it's just the lives cut up. It definitely cuts out the incentive of membership

Yes! I’ve been trying to get on it! Idk what’s going on
We saw this live, love the content but since we've hard it, it doesnt feel like a new episode
There are people who aren't members who haven't seen it. It's not meant to feel new to us, but those who missed the members only streams.
You guys have read the first story already
There is a small, concerning, and sad update on the second story
"I needed to post this update in regard to the OP, my brother. Jane found my brother’s Reddit post, and my brother has been hospitalized because of her. The current state of the situation has gone from bad to worse. I have limited time right now, so I’ll post a proper update sometime later this week, everyone in my family is freaking out about what happened."

Sophie your inflated feminist ego powers provide awesome insight on story one. Definitely accurate about the dad in Canada is disposable, irrelevant. That the son broke his fathers heart but all good because child is required to make efforts to seek out and support the deadbeat parent(only if it's mom though). And refused to acknowledge the mother gave the same la.e exuses as the typical deadbeat dad. She even put her lack of communication her son. I thought you hated me so less letters and some unknown mental bs he was unaware of. That mom in Egypt is a freaking walking blood red flag and really the whole panel saw nothing wrong because, like Bill Bur so eloquently states, the LADIES.
It’s almost like the dad literally threatened her to stay away. The dad is absolutely an AH he took their child away literally blackmailing her after buying her like she was some kind of object. It’s not cheating if you just decide a woman is yours she was forced into a relationship which is WRONG bs the father said “she should have gotten a divorce” as if that’s an easy option in their culture.
Sam please stop misgendering people it’s not only rude just annoying you kept calling OP she when they stated they’re male in the post.
They’re human they probably forgot since it was in the beginning of the post
It really doesn't matter. Problems have no genders. Why should solutions be gender specific?
@@angelaveneziano1684 you are so right problems have no gender
I wish you guys would remember the genders of the people you are talking about. it gets very confusing.
they’re bad at names too and get them mixed up all the time like plssss 😭😭😭
literally! they do it with not only gender but relationships to the OOP too (like a stepmom vs bio mom) & i have to listen to another podcast sometimes 😅
Literally why are you even here 😆 I guess there's always gotta be a hater out there somewhere RUclips is the best place cause the haters engagement pays you too hahahaha@@jessicaroses9831
Ive literally never gotten confused 😂
Not my experience 🤷♀️ sounds like you have an agenda bc ive never gotten confused either
I can understand if you guys want to sound organic and be genuinely shocked at the suspense brought by these stories. But it’s sometimes hard to follow though the stories because of the mix ups and also extremely random interjections. Plus unresearched opinions brought forth or incomplete informations during the podcasts also makes it hard to follow through the stories. I would suggest that the main reader to go through the material multiple times to understand the story as so to not get surprised if the sentences are a bit out of order. The main reader could also maybe research interesting aspects of the stories, like the types of divorces in Egypt at 19:00 and explain it with at least some detail instead of just googling it and reading it out loud without any explanation and when people ask „owh what does that means“, don’t just go „Owh I don’t know“. It makes the whole podcast's seems on the too low effort side, despite the good editing. I usually do something on the side while listening and this means I don’t actively watch the video, so even if the video quality is high and the editing is good, I still get disappointed at the poor narration quality, especially this video, because that’s where my main focus is at. I hope to see some improvements in the future
Tip to the editors: could we maaaaybe cut out all the parts re explaining whats going on because of bad reading compression. Cuz we all here know whats Going on. ❤ love y'all
I appreciate those recaps because sometimes the stories are just confusing with all the drama and messiness lol.
Yes, I enjoy them but their reading comprehension needs some work.
