They just have better storylines focusing on friendship, character, consequences of poor decisions and reconciliation rather than magic, and being born with a special gift one did not earn. I won't understand why Pixar sold to their company.
Pixar is just one of those companies that, even in their prime, would always resonate with me because they made those childish concepts growing up like growing up with toys(Toy Story), monsters in the bed(Monsters Inc.), or being with a loving, caring family(Finding Nemo) just feels real, even if they are characters concepts that are non-human.
Pixar rocked because these humane stories center around anything that wasn't human characters for the most part.

@@KittyGoldPaint "The Message" is the same message the same people pushed during the Weimar, Germany era: Men are weak and terrible, women are extremely strong and intelligent, family means nothing, indulge in everything, and every race is more noble and important except the white race. Oh but not the ones that LOOK white. Those individuals are God's chosen people and tend to be the ones pulling the strings of "THE MESSAGE" but we can't say that out loud because, well, holding those people accountable for their actions is like arresting a black person for shooting five people (but won't ever be mentioned as a mass shooter).
The LGBTQ+ community is an easy target because right now that is being pushed the hardest because it's the easiest way to, once again, destroy family units. It's easy to control a population when, in less than two generations, you destroy the idea of family so that people are dependent on media and government to raise children as well. Design an entire message around the idea of "children can decide their gender" or "children can be gay" and push enough loud minority (as in number) people in power and you can have a controlled and easily dictated population in a very short time.
Case in point: Allegedly 81 million people voted for a child sniffer that can't remember where he is all because they were TOLD TO.

I have a weird feeling that this was all Bob Iger's plan. He knew that terrible movies were going to come out and he basically bailed in the right so that movie and TV shows would come out during Bob Chapek's run. TV shows and especially movies take years to make meaning it was greenlit under Iger's run and with these projects almost done Chapek had no choice but allow them to be released to make some of the money back which made it look like it he was the one responsible for these movies and TV shows being made. Chapek was creating a functioning system for Disney and now that he's gone I think Iger is going to use it and claim that it was his, taking all the credit. Movies like Elemental seems like a movie that was made under Chapek's rain. I expect to see some good content coming out from Disney because of Chapek's system. But once they run out and they will have to make new ideas I wonder if Bob Iger will do this all over again.

    • @theprogram863
      @theprogram863 Год назад +8

I don't think there is any real panic. For most of the employees, Disney is an entry on their resumes. If the money spigot stopped, then they'd just float their resumes somewhere else. That includes the executives. They want to look good with their peers and on social media. They have to go through the motions of pretending to care about the financials, but they already have plenty of money, enough that their biggest fear isn't not making rent, it's being cancelled. The same goes for the board and the investors.
The "investors" are usually fund managers. They don't own all that much Disney themselves. They are appointed by an investment bank or pension fund to act on behalf of the thousands/millions of ordinary people who actually have skin in the game... but no voice. The fund managers go through the motions, too, but their checks mostly clear regardless of how the company is doing. Everybody has to talk like they care about profits, but mostly that's way down on their list of priorities because they've got very little skin in the game. Bad quarter? OK, throw a senior exec or two into the volcano so we can show shareholders that we care. Hire a new guy, and it's back to business as usual. Even the guy who got forced out gets a golden parachute.
So they have to ACT panicked, but do they feel any panic? Probably not.

To me, it seems they overestimated brand loyalty from people who traditionally carried Disney for generations, and Disney no doubt thought they didn't have to worry about that segment of their income, by far the biggest segment, by appeasing the woke mafia, but they were wrong, and it is glorious to see them squirm at the retribution of the "boomers" and their wallets. The chain is broken; older people actively don't want to take their grandkids to Disneyland anymore, and with good reason: Disney showed those fat wallet people that Disney doesn't care about their values.

well said @ryancason7819 , this has been by far one of the best comments on Disney in general, the more Disney rises, the harder Disney has been making things for true art and creativity from other smaller studios to come out. Disney is a "safe" entertainment and medium, and has been getting worse for decades. It's obvious they had enough with art and creativity when they sabotaged Treasure Planet's box office by not even promoting it, even when it tried to do something original. And ever since the mid 2000s, Disney has been killing any ounce of creativity that any of its own writers had, in favor of the new woke writers that Critical Drinker talks about. I knew this the moment I heard that Star Wars The Force Awakens was being rushed in production despite pleas from JJ Abrams to have a rewrite of the script back in 2015, but Disney refused in favor of not delaying the schedule. Even someone like JJ Abrams knew that the Star Wars sequels needed more work before they were released, but Disney said no. If you guys need proof, look it up and you'll see all this is true, and that the cracks were showing even back in the 90s. I even remember Disney making commercials threatening to never release "The Lion King" in VHS or DVDs again back in the early 2000s when i was a kid, this was before blu ray was a thing. They were trying to get people to go rush to the stores to buy copies of the lion king even back then by blatantly lying saying "get it now, before it goes back in the Disney Golden Vault forever." Anyone else remember that? Every commercial on Disney films back then was just constantly trying to get you to buy all their classics or go to Disneyland. Every company does that right? Give commercials for people to buy their products? Well that's not what Disney used to do, they would play commercials for the same product one after another. Let's say you bought Aladdin or Tarzan, there would be about 10 different Disney commercials on some movie VHS before the movie even began playing. Disney has always been the same, shoving their classics down your throat. The remakes arent anything new, just another way to shove their classics down your throats or into your hands at the stores or online.
Disney needs to go down for creativity to go back up, otherwise they just have a monopoly on the entertainment industry at this point, which kills any chance of other studios making something genuine and new and refreshing to come along. Disney knows this and will do anything it can to kill the other studios and be your only source of entertainment. Not even Sony is that greedy, at least they bit the bullet and let Spiderman into Disney's Marvel. Disney would never do that. Disney takes on the cake on greediest company cuz it bought all the big studios like Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel lol. Heck, if you look up "Disney denies Spider-Man grave for young fan" you'll see everything you need to know about Disney. Some kid was a fan of Spiderman and so when the kid died, the parents put a spiderman on his grave and took a picture of it sharing it on social media telling their friends about how their kid died and how they put spidey on the grave cuz the kid was a big fan. What did Disney do? They said basically "we wont allow you to do this because we want to preserve the “innocence” and “magic” of the company’s characters. They wanted to “disassociate their characters with death.” Bro, just let people do what they want. It's not hurting anybody to have a Spiderman on a kid's grave, only your own reputation to deny grieving parents something very very very small that isnt even doing any harm to your box office money.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, i didnt know how much I was disappointed in Disney until just now after writing all this lol, not that i had much respect for them in the first place.

There's one thing you're not recognizing. The parks division. Iger isn't doing the parks any favor, but he's practically the second coming of Walt himself compared to Chapek.
He slashed Imagineering, (For the uninitiated, that's the creative team behind Disney rides, lands, and attractions) literally laying off about HALF of them with little warning, and then forcing the rest to relocate from California to Florida, also with little warning.
He hiked the park admission price up to an unreasonable point, and instead of raising the park's amenities as a result, lowered them. The maintenance and cleanliness went from meticulous to bare minimum. Workers were hurt as well, their pay was cut to minimum wage and many of them lost their homes, with insane working hours, sometimes supplied and changed at the last minute.
He changed the FastPass system to something you have to pay for. ($20 dollars per person) and as a result the day becomes less fun because you'll spend the whole day looking at your phone to try and get your money's worth. He would add hidden fees everywhere in the process he could, making you feel like you are being nickle-and-dimed (because you are) at every step.

Then I grew up and got a family and I was able to capture a little of that when I had kids. So, I used to love taking my sons to go see the movies and comic shops. I even suprised them by taking them out of school early to see Avengers when it first came out. Now due to the many reasons you list in your videos (awful writing, crapping on legacy characters, remakes, retcons, feminizing of men, etc)...they have completely destroyed a part of my life I used to hold so dear and I just want to watch it all burn. Every bit of it. Perhaps if all it burned, something beautiful would and powerful would be able to come out of it.

They need to give them freedom to make it the way it needs to be made like the source material, but when has Disney ever given that creative freedom to anyone. The only show that still has creative freedom due to the writers being deep in the lore and fans of the IP is the Mandalorian. The "too big to fail" moniker was assigned to large financial institutes like Barings Bank and Leaman Brothers. In both cases it took exceptional act to force them to collapse. Disney is not doing anything nearly this stupid and even turned a profit during the pandemic. The proposed layoffs were because they didn't meet preditions and that was most due to over spend on their streaming service which has resulted in higher subsciptions so its not the failing its being made out to be.

But his own stuff sure does come very close to maulers, too. It's great having a guy this talented and with such wit rising up these days still. Ngl I watched gaming coverage along these lines for years. But at some point it just got long-winded and boring, many barely made any point. But it really looks like movie critics are far better at this type of stuff, and it's amazing to watch.
Regarding Disparu, does he only make short videos and is on streams? Because I honestly lost interest in these types of channels very quickly. For as much as I do like Gray, Jeremy and even Ryan on streams, their content is very low effort and uninformed stuff I do not want to waste my time on.
