I would have even accepted a version of the sequels where Luke did try, but failed because he was too optimistic and trusting, and his new order fell to the dark side and used Jedi rhetoric to rationalise genocide of "Sith-aligned peoples". You'd still have Jedi VS Sith, but now they're both evil.
It would make Rey the perfect redemption story, as the persecuted offspring of Sidious, reforming the Jedi order after Luke without his flaw of not being vigilant enough.

Not only Rey Skywalker is the most well written Star Wars character such as having the greatest struggles and training (one second of her training regime is infinite time harder than what the greatest the Jedi Knights or Sith Lords has gone through in their training to become a full-fledged warriors), with greatest character development and in not only in Star Wars, but all of fiction. She is the most powerful duelist and fighter. Obviously the most powerful force user with unmatched potential too, infinite times more powerful than full potential Anakin Skywalker. She is also the best starship captain, no one can’t compete at her level and match her natural talent and skills and also her full potential.
Why do people underrates Rey Skywalker for no good reason, although she is the greatest character and part of the masterpiece of the sequel trilogy? I don’t know, but most of the die hard fans or real Star Wars fans in the Star Wars community would say Rey Skywalker is the greatest character in Star Wars and all of fiction.
Rey Skywalker is in fact the greatest Skywalker and Palpatine, but also the greatest and also the most powerful Star Wars character, in general and also in terms of writing. Rey is also considered to be one of the most powerful character in fiction, some experts say she is levels above the One Above All. Her character’s writing and arc are considered to be one of the greatest outside of Star Wars, but also in cinema or all of stories.
She is considered to be one of the greatest and most iconic characters in cinema, even more iconic than Darth Vader by infinite times which makes Rey Skywalker the most iconic Star Wars character and Disney princess.
Although according to experts that she’s the most powerful character and not only in Star Wars, but in fiction, her insane struggles and greatest upbringing or backstory to the most tragic character that would make any famous and well-known Ancient Greek story-tellers cry and admit their greatest tragic stories, or story as a whole in general are nothing compared to the story of Rey Skywalker (more difficult than the rest of Star Wars characters and rest of characters in all of fiction) makes her the most relatable character and hardships to become a Jedi is insanely difficult and especially trying to resist the dark side.
Rey Skywalker’s potential is greater than Anakin’s power and full potential. She is not only the greatest leader and candidate for woman empowerment, she is the only embodiment for it.
Instead of fighting who is the best and greatest character in Star Wars. Or also the greatest trilogy in Star Wars. Let’s all admit and say the real truth and reality, Rey Skywalker is in fact the greatest masterpiece of a character in Star Wars and the sequel trilogy has the greatest movies in Star Wars.
Also, the sequel trilogy in Star Wars are the greatest trilogy in all of cinema, and considered to be greater than the Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Even the experts and the best or legendary directors such as George Lucas, Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and etc considers the all the three movies of the sequel trilogy in Star Wars are the greatest movies in history.
Please no more fighting and bashing other characters, especially Rey Skywalker to say your favorite character is the best, especially Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker whom Rey Skywalker the real GOAT is infinite times better as a character in writing and relatable, and also more powerful.

Just a reminder that Daisy, a child of very wealthy parents who are in the Hollywood in-crowd, said that she's struggled _just as much_ for her career as John Boyega. That she's faced just as many hurdles and her wahmenness outstrips his POCness in the progressive stack.
Daisy was sent to private boarding schools and enjoyed every luxury imaginable as a child and young adult. Her parents paid for all her acting classes and helped leverage their connections to get her the roles she enjoys today.
John, on the other hand, grew up a child of immigrants in the UK and had to walk to a local theatre in second-hand shoes to try to make his acting dream come true.
Look how they have each been treated by Disney: Daisy like a literal canonised saint of strong boss-babeness and John like a clown who, when he complained, was then treated like literal shit.
I'm not saying that Daisy deserves threats or whatever, but she could try not playing the victim for a second since she's about as privileged as you can be.

Besides Rey being the most powerful character in not only in the whole Star Wars franchise, also in fiction in terms of power-scaling. She is also the most well-written character in the whole Star Wars franchise and fiction. Many audience and real Star Wars fans who knows both the lore of legends and Disney canon that are not actually paid by Disney said they relate to Rey the most compared to most characters, or even all the characters in fiction. Her struggles to the dark side and anger issues are the most relatable and even those who are not Star Wars fans, the entire world relates to her which makes her the greatest character in Star Wars, and also in fiction. It is said that she is a Mary Sue, but she is not since once second of her training is infinite times harder than an average Jedi’s journey to Knighthood, including Anakin’s journey also. This actually reflects real life so much... Disney has won, they have succeeded in destroying George Lucas's and our(the real fans) beloved franchise.

It was not a Mary sue
She was good in her specialized job and feminine in appearance

She was not instantly better than anyone else
    And oh my god

In this case a traumatic past
    And even more unheard
She actually needed the help of a more experienced mentor to overcome her barriers
I saw a lot of drinkers reviews but this is the first time that I noticed something so obvious rewatching a film of more than a decade ago

What bothers me most about Rey when compared to Luke is that Luke - and the entire original trilogy's plot - was always based around the classic storytelling concept of "The Hero's Journey" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero%27s_journey?wprov=sfla1), as stated by George Lucus himself. THJ (as I'll shorten it to now) goes back thousands of years and has been used *countless* times for good blooming reason! Because it makes for a good story! Luke had his THJ, and it was utterly *destroyed* in the sequel trilogy. What's worse? Rey *doesn't have a THJ* ! She skips most of it, really. That's why she's so boring! It's utterly infuriating and saddening that we lose Luke - a flawed but ultimately heroic character - and get Rey, the fudging *perfect* hero... #nothanks!

    • @AtticusKarpenter
      @AtticusKarpenter Год назад +5

Good stories don't have to be very similar to THJ (although the popularity of the original trilogy rests in no small part on how brilliantly Lucas transposed classic THJ into space fantasy), but Rey's story is literally the dark twin, THJ's satanic bible that breaks every step and makes character uninteresting and repulsive in every possible way.

@@andreiga76 lol u know it's freaking bad when regardless if statement is true or not, it creates same sad laughing reaction. It would be so in character for Disney, as it's about *the message*, doesn't make much sense, goes Against not only all other SW products and established lore, but also literally last scene of the last movie (a boy picking up broom with the force, though they'd probably made him a trans-woman to further *the message* ), and their financial interests. I really just wish people making those movies found a way to distance themselves from this franchise and company, being in Star Wars seems to be a curse.

Gets offered the hand to join, TAKES IT, Fin becomes the Jedi; just like it was actually set up for.

All things aside, her being so strong would've made more sense if Jedies fought with shear forces, but unfortunately they fight mostly with their physical abilities. In other words, they are sword fighters.😅 The way she is moving her body looks just too clumsy to be so strong

The problem for Daisy Ridley is that it’s much easier for Adam Driver to put distance from the Disney trilogy because he’s a much more established actor. The Disney trilogy was supposed to be Daisy’s launchpad, and she gave it her all, but the writers and directors may have broken her career.

I actually don't hold anything against Daisy. There are plenty of limited actors that I still enjoy. I cannot stand Rey as a character, but its not Daisy's fault.

Daisy needs to do a 19th century costume drama.

I like how drinker has a lot of empathy for Daisy Ridley’s predicament. I often see (less intelligent) creators blaming the actor or actress for the character’s writing when in reality they normally have very little control over the character itself. Drinker correctly blaming the people behind the character is a welcome change

100% right. Just as I was thinking "I kinda feel sorry for Daisy Ridley" Drinker said the same thing. Same deal with the poor guy who acted Jar Jar in the prequels, and I what's her name from the sequels. One exception is Brie Larson who is genuinely unlikable in real life as well as in the movie.

I used to feel bad for Daisy's predicament, but I don't feel bad for battered women that return to their abusers. So I really can't feel bad for her anymore. She went back after the fact. It's obviously what she wants.

The difference is Abused victims are usually under the thumb of the abuser, they get gaslighted, cajoled and bullied, to the point where the abuser has a psychological grip on them. Ridley does it because she wants to and lacks self awareness that her character isn’t well liked
