I love renaissance more sonically but I’ll admit lemonade is her most deep album. The lyrics are way better and more meaningful than renaissance but I prefer the sound of renaissance.
@@cinder2085I think the difference in purpose plays a role. Lemonade was about healing, confronting a generational curse and moving on. Renaissance was just about breaking out confinement and dancing non stop, not to say the album doesn't have deeper meanings here and there but overall I think it's something not meant to be taken seriously just something to vibe to.
The reason why the songs does not have big streams is because the album was available on spotify only 3 years after the release because it was exclusive on tidal, but it hit 1 billion streams a couple of days ago still very impressive
The whole project of Lemonade is basically the stages of grief someone goes through while being cheated on. The reason why it’s so popular is because it resonated a lot with people but it’s definitely not really an album which I would recommend to people getting into her music. There are some eastereggs and insiders in the lyrics which you cant understand and appreciate as someone who is new to her. Don’t know if you do MV reactions too but for example her Self Titled album is a whole visual album.
Wow ok i will deff check out her other stuff then And with mv reactions they are really hard to avoid copyright take down since its visual but i always do in my own time so ill check it!
6 inch it's one of my favorite songs of Bey, and I cannot even tell how much i was glad that you liked it too. This album it's the perfect experimentation of every genre she could be in, and I love it.
since you questioned why 6 inch is not as popular as it should be: the reason there aren't many listens on the lemonade album compared to others is because beyoncé didn't release it on spotify when it first came out (2016). the album was added to the platform only in 2019, the same year she made "the gift" (lion king's soundtrack) - and a year after "everything is love" (the album she created in collaboration with jay-z). also, beyoncé did little to no promo on the projects she made from 2014-2022. i mean, renaissance is getting a better rollout compared to the others, but still lmfao
Lemonade is Beyoncé’s most transparent album. It was composed with emotion and time. Truly a privilege to be let in to such a personal and emotional and raw life experience. To be able to convey the stages of emotion she endured during the time throughout music and visualization and essentially opening it up to something other than mainstream, is legendary.
What up my dude... Great reaction. This is the album that made me love Bey... and a part of my appreciation is contextual understanding... The sudden release of this disc broke the news... not just because it was a new B dropped out of nowhere, and not only because it came with a full visual companion piece... and not only because it was hella political... or full of social commentary, but also because it is explicitly about Jay cheating on her... Because I wasn't a Bey fan before this album, it took me watching bey-hive reaction vids to learn that this was also monumental because she dumped her purse and total opened up in her art in a way that she had not done before... she was and still is intensely private, and barely does interviews... much less produce entire albums expose major traumas in her personal life... I say all of this because makes all of her lyrics much more important and potent... and because it is vital to the (very intentionally built) flow of the album. The ending of Don't Hurt Yourself made news... fans in reaction vids flipped out at that close... because that was when it became absolutely clear that all that we heard up until that point and after that was really real sh*t the was going on in her life.
"Daddy Lessons" still blows me away. It's basically Beyonce throwing down, saying, "Yeah, I can do literally anything and it's gonna be fire." She performed it at the CMT Awards with The Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks -- they're on the album version as well). The performance is phenomenal, but even moreso if you read up on The Chicks history of being cancelled by country during the Iraq War. They swore they'd never go back to that show, but when Beyonce calls, you answer. They all got death threats over it.
Love Drought and All Night are my favourite songs of Lemonade. They just might be my favourite songs from Bey in general. I guess the first time you listen to them they sound kinda meh but once you’re in the correct mood and you’ve watched the visuals, they get a lot of extra points. They’re just fantastic songs. I think someone commented this already but if you’re going to react to Beyoncé’s self-titled, i recommend you also watch the music videos for each song
I wouldn’t call Jack White a “small artists”. The White Stripes was one of the biggest selling and acclaimed rock bands of the 2000s. But yes, compared to Beyoncé and today’s more mainstream artists, he could be viewed as “small”. But at this point he is a borderline rock legend.
Yeah as 'small artist' i went of his stats on spotify (which i shouldn't have done) but i havent heard of him so i couldn't have a FULL opinion or idea of who he was
and I do have to point out that this album besides the production, it's very very very personal lyric wise. So if u're going to listen again, makes sure to pay attention ti what's she saying
When Beyoncé released this album she didn’t release it on streaming platforms. She didn’t put Lemonade on Spotify until 2019. React to her self titled album or B’Day. Also react to Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar perform freedom live at the bet awards.
I love Lemonade (and like you I adore 6 Inch) but I don't like when people recommend this album to those new to Beyonce's catalogue. "B'Day" and "4" align more with Renaissance and are considered her musical peak by fans and non-fans alike. I recommend those albums if you're still open to suggestions! ❤️
Eh, Lemonade is probably her most acclaimed by critics and fans. I don’t like it as much as self-titled, Renaissance, B’Day. But I can acknowledge it’s her most acclaimed. Self-Titled gives me almost everything I could want from a Beyoncé album, which is partly why it’s probably my favorite. 4 is a solid album with some great vocals, but I don’t put it on the same tier as Self-Titled, Renaissance, B’Day, Lemonade.
Its strange because before recording this i did a quick search on which album was better and a lot of people were saying lemonade and i knew how huge it was so 😅
@@liteflightify With visuals, yes. Lemonade and Self-Titled are stronger projects (as they are meant to be consumed with visuals). But musically, I've heard and agree that B'Day and 4 are stronger. Also, the average listener won't be dissecting the lyrics or messages on Self-Titled and Lemonade or experience the surprise drop or know the events leading up to each albums release which cheapens the impact.
I think biased on what you've liked so far you might enjoy her lion king project the most out of her albums. Side note. The way that you pronounce renaissance is still so cute and funny
You should react to beyonce live. Her albums are amazing but I’ve got to say performing is why she is the queen. Super Bowl 2013 or stevie wonder tribute!! Followed
The way he mentally went to space when Love Drought chorus dropped, as he should, i do too, only that i do when the song starts, imo it's her best song ever

I don't know if anyone has commented this but the streaming numbers are so low because lemonade wasn't available on streaming services till 2 years after it's release
6 inch and Daddy are my favorites! Freedom was my morning alarm for a while 🤣 Followed by the Tidal performance of All Night which you should enjoy on your own time 😅

I always viewed her as a 'radio artist' before with only the intetion to get big with hit songs only, but after listening i heard so many new stories and songs which were the opposite to radio hits like daddy issues and her more sad songs
I don’t like Lemonade as much as Self-Titled and Renaissance (maybe not as much as B’Day either). But it is a solid album. And I understand why it got so much acclaim.
Tbf i was worried to say renaissance is better as they are both completely seperate vibes and albums in so many ways, but from both listens i would say that Renaissance has more possible hits than lemonade but lemonade has more replay value
I’m gonna beg you to relisten to love drought, you said the verses were dead but you have to focus on the lyrics, the story she’s telling, like in the second verse she’s contradicting herself because she’s losing her mind
I will check it out but rather in my own time as i dont want to milk it so much, but self titled reaction is coming and ill focus more on lyrics in that aswell
"I don't like sad songs, next up sandcastles" when I tell you I laughed 😂😂
Little did he know 😭
Lemonade was pure art and probably Beyoncé most complex and personal album ever. It’s still my fav album by her.
