What really helped me was taking the withdrawals one day at a time, not pressuring yourself with unrealistic goals, not trying to get better asap, but still trying to "live" and not just stagnant. Practicing gratitude, and accepting that bad days with lack of sleep and/or depression are still progress, even if it certainly doesnt feel like it is in the moment. It is not easy, you have to learn how to be patient with yourself and rebuild a relationship with you, and learn how to live life again. It takes time, it takes trial and error, it takes painful lessons, it takes a lot of willpower to go through all the frustration, when you want to be normal again, but you just feel like you are dragged down and you have to race every day against this anhedonia. It tests you, for sure. You cant be 80% pro quitting and 20% not want to quit, you really need to be fully determined that this is what you HAVE TO do in order to move forward.
I’m on day 4 after 1.6 years of using a LOt. Powder wasn’t doing it anymore so I went to 7oh extracts and pills. Totally doable you just have to be sick of it. I was spending 38-50$ a day for a little bit and I knew it was unsustainable. Plus it was making me super emotional…screw Kratom! It ropes you in slowly. 1st 2 nights were the WORST! But in all not impossible at all. Pure willpower and leaning on God.
Thanks Nolan. I've set the date of September 25. My D Day. I've been a heavy user for 8 years, literally all day, every day. And all in secret from anyone I know. I drive for work, so my skin on my left arm neck and some of my right hand have turned gray from sun exposer, which really yanks any bit of confidence I have left. I've lost all personality and always anxious and derived from a social life. Anyway, September 25. Thanks, brother for your videos, helps with motivation. Gym and lorazepam and the hope of regaining my life is my game plan. And finally at some point, a tattoo sleeve to cover the damage of my arm. Grabbing your book to have on hand next week
No problem Travis. Can totally relate. After heavy use for 3+ years felt the same way, and thought I was done for. Lost my social life, personality etc. It's all coming back so much faster than I ever thought it would; keep your head up! Don't put too much pressure on yourself, also one thing that helped was not comparing myself to other people who I thought had more friends or a better life than me. All in time! September 25th is totally your day, you've got this. Keep it up man
Na I’ve heard of kratom being the reason for the gray skin, from what I heard it rarely happens and it takes some time for it to repair but it’s the kratom that did that to you and I’m sure the sun didn’t help
In the early days, I love the plant. It helped me quit NHS prescribed opiods for knee pain. Little did I know I was getting into a nightmare - potentially worse than being on the opiods themselves. It's all nice and cosy at the beginning, until you reach a point of feeling a mere husk of your former self. Thankfully, the one strong feeling I have left; is the feeling of having had enough of this powder. I want my personality back. Just about to begin the journey to freedom from emotional crutch medicines. Time to take life back under my own control. Thank you lad.
You're welcome mate! Extremely cozy at the beginning, and you feel like even the most mundane of tasks are wrapped in a nice warm blanket. But yes, eventually the fun begins to leave, and we're happier without. Super excited for you to take your life back. (Plus, I got addicted to it in the UK when I was there for 5 years, and it's not so easy to get which might make it easier).
Ok, now that I actually have time to watch this video... I've seen all the quitting kratom videos and this one really deserves way more views. Yeah the last time I decided to quit and started tapering down, for a couple days I was super emotional. I started watching a couple videos about Chester Bennington and his death and his music made me cry because he committed suicide. Before, I never really even listened to that band.
I was 180 days clean off Kratom and going fishing, swimming and sitting in the sun helped a lot with the post acutes Once winter came, I relapsed on 7-OH taking 120mg a day. I switched to powder and I was easily doing 100+gpd. I tapered to 60gpd then got a prescription to Gabapentin and Clonidine. I’m day 6 and I feel very minor withdrawals and tapering off the Gabapentin
Thank you so much for your videos just ordered your book and your video is the first thing I have come across that gives me hope ❤️ I’m on the quit bandwagon as of today so your videos have been giving me what I need to kickstart it.
Last year I went to Europe for a month where kratom is illegal, I brought small amount with me which I slowly tapered off over 10 days. The only physical symptoms I expericend was mild insomnia, for the rest of 20 days I felt no other physical discomfort, my brain was asking it for it from time to time but I told it to STFU and it listened. It was a lot easier than I anticipated. But when I got back to US I started using again like, my habit is about 10GPD Today is the first day of fall, I took 7.5 grams and I'm slowly going to taper off again for good. Thank you for this video Nolan.
Doing this now! Started by picking up a copy of your book. Purchased the supplements for support. Going from over 30 gpd and am down to less than 20 gpd within 2 difficult weeks but doable. I’ll keep this up for months and plan to be totally off by spring 2025. That feels too long but I know me and I’ll climb back up if I don’t plan a long slow taper. I need support so I’m making myself a regular in the support groups (starting …soon-why is it so difficult to join kratom quit groups? I feel so much shame in this addiction.
I literally found out I gave scoliosis the other day and cashier at a grocery store. I'm taking 2 weeks off and starting physical therapy going it's enough. Honestly now that I've tapered back and don't even feel much of anything it's hard to justify coming off completely. I didn't even think about drinking yesterday even though I sold thousands of dollars worth of alcohol. I never got constipated except for the clonidine I used to quit. I'm actually more regular. Kratom is pretty cheap though. I paid $60 a kilo and used 25g a day. That's $1.50
The physical withdrawal is one thing but the psychological is just as bad as heroin was for me. Deep possession and rationalization to keep using. On day 3. Peace
Nolan you know what helps is getting an enema bag and doing that the day before you quit and then the first and second day, also if you have a sauna which I did at home I went in my sauna first thing in the morning and it took away the sweats and chills. Still a mind / emotional roller coaster of feeling like you will never be normal again. That sucks but it will pass I know it will. It has too. Valerian root helped , passionflower helped, kava (only on emergency) , ibuprofen no more then 2x a day, I took scoops of vitamin c powder taking up to 10000 mg a day, drinking mag/calcium supplement. Drinking more than the normal dosage too. I also tried murcunus pruienes (the velvet bean) only for the first 3 days. I took 1000mg once a day on that. Plus I laid a lot in my infrared sauna and watched you tube videos like this for distracting. Going outside sitting in the sun and forcing sneezing cause it made me feel better 🤷🏻♀️ all I can say is I will never go back. There is nothing in the world worth the false feeling of happiness. Not worth it. You start to not do best at work, sex drive goes, the hiding of it sucks, missing out on events and missing out on your children suck. Just quit!!!! Thank you for your great video. ❤
Well I'm on day 4 and happy to say it's been a cakewalk. I guess switching to stem and vein for the last month or so leading up to it worked plus the gram of agmatine morning and night.
@@stopspyingonme9210 were the withdrawals really that easy to get thru switching to stem and vein? And can I ask how many GPD you took and for how many years before the switch to SnV, n then how much SnV in grams u took while tapering
@@RobertHasty SnV is the stems n veins powdered. Rather the the leaves. It should help you with ur tolerance/taper. It’s supposed to be easier to withdraw from SnV then reg kratom. If u can I would use ur powder n make a tea w a French press n that will help a lot too. Tea is weaker n cleaner!
