When I was a little girl (about 8 - 10 years old) I never listened to Music while working out. I find that working out without music helps you to focus more, and it strengthens your mindset by allowing you to challenge yourself.

You can have a cell phone in your pocket and have the self control to leave it on airplane mode and not use it. The phone isn't the issue. It's your own descipline that is.

Perhaps compartmentalizing every moment is real freedom.
Leave the phone inaccessible, worry about the future task once it befalls you is the real dopamine detox.
Since it's mostly anticipation, once you know you can't check anything you so much anticipate (notifications, messages etc.) you can focus on the moment.
Those things are leeches, even I who tries not to have too much reliability on phones, am deep in into the furnace.
