I enjoyed Kaare's ability to communicate his esoteric thoughts about art in a grounded way. I appreciate that the panel gave him time to explore these thoughts uninterrupted and I liked that nobody yelled in this episode. Thanks!
I don’t know if Kaare will ever read this bc I’m so late to the game in the comments section, but here it goes: 1) Thank you for coming on the panel. You put yourself out there, which may cause you to be ostracized from your peers rather than the “usual suspects.” 2) We (the readers, the fans) do want to have genuine conversations with the pros, not just attack you all. I agree that coming to the RUclips space is a good thing to do for the future of the medium. 3) Part of the reason “everything feels insane” is from the lack of communication. Having genuine conversations will cause the pros/shop owners/fans to respect one another more, even if we still disagree. That’s what comic shops were all about. 4) As a fan of comics myself, I need to speak my viewpoint now…Kaare spoke of “creating art,” which I agree with in general, but let’s also consider that the comic medium is a unique medium of >>commercial>other pros,
Big up for getting another huge creator…I felt like the panel were pussies and missed Doc. If I recall from past episodes no one liked that Spider-Man story. They all got sold snake oil, they had to opportunity to voice their opinion but it was just…” that’s art guys…so bad it’s good”😂😂😂 Anyways great episode hope you get Kaare again!
I have always liked Kaare Andrews as an artist. His art has evolved over the years for sure. As a writer he's not bad. Do I agree with everything he had to say? Obviously not. But I can definitely understand why the guys were being polite.
The problem about the younger generation changing the world is that past generations worked to to change the world and now the the young feel that the world needs to change for them.
I think the takeaway here is that change happens. The source of the change isn’t so important as long as the change benefits the young (because they are going to be here much longer than the old, so it is important that it does). And when today’s young grow old, they will be irritated at a newer generation for “doing it wrong”… and the cycle repeats.
Hmmm. A pretty dull outing in general, and I had to switch off when no one challenged Andrews on his assertion that Batman is about the 'rich's' fighting the 'poors'. If you're going to tansition to more of an interview channel, then you have to be willing to challenge your subjects, not just let them spew nonsense so you seem nice.
@@yashileakduth928 Yes, but it wasn't true in the 40s. He's projecting. Batman fights crime. Crime is not the same thing as poor ... except in his mind.
Ve heard that take a hundred times before - Bruce was a millionaire as the Great Depression ended and beat up Gangsters - if any of us said he was wrong, he would just say that's his opinion (and a lot of others as well) and then what? I should then just argue his opinion is wrong for him to repeat it's his opinion?

Kaare Andrews is gentleman! Congratulations guys! Great interview.👏👏👏👏
Great guest to have on , I love his point of views on being an artist 👍
One of the your best epsiodes. Kaare made a lot of interesting points. Smart guy.

Dok is much better one on one with Wes. The panel works better without Dok on Aficionados.

I have never read Spider-Man Reign
They were being polite, but yes, went pretty easy on Kaare. Props to Kaare putting himself out there though.
@@basementbrotherscollectibles i read and reviewed Spider-Man Reign after this show was recorded and it is hardly as bad as people said it was IMO
Karate Kid is best martial artist in DC comics.
Andrews seems like a really good guy. I knew there was a reason I defended Reign all these years.
He was awesome to talk to.
My favorite work from kaare was his 12 issue iron first series that i collected
