Such a great run...Excellent job, everyone. The run from 181 thru 200 are all just fantastic comic books.
It’d be nice if we got more 70’s-80’s GL in collected editions; maybe even an omnibus
Damn, you guys have me running to my longboxes yet again for a forgotten gem! Thanks!
This topic is my jam! Englehart/Staton Green Lantern! This was my entrance into being a comic book fan as a kid and Englehart's entire run is still is my warmest memory for what I love about comic books. Heck, I own a lot of pages of original art from this run because of my attachment to it. Thanks for doing this video!
Ditto!
Very timely! I’ve been rereading the trades of the Len Wein / Dave Gibbons and Steve Engelhart / Joe Staton runs: absolutely great stuff, criminally under-rated, and foundational for everything Geoff Johns did with GLC later on. I loved these comics in the 80’s and I love them just as much today.
I’ll repeat my request for a Manhunter by Goodwin and Simonson from the backup in Detective retrospective. Truly ahead of its time.
I'd love a retrospective on some of the M.D. Bright or more Joe Staton Green Lantern issues. That's my childhood!!! Also, Guy Gardner is awesome.
Here I'm with Breen: Guy Gardner is the best! :D
Great retrospective, guys!!
This is my sh!t right here! My all-time favorite GL run!!!
I remember thinking for sure DC was intending Guy to be the next Sinestro as the renegade GL, and then someone got the idea to make him an anti hero
I read Green Lantern sector 2814 vol 3 (which collects this arc) just 3 hours ago lol
Not a DC fan but always had an affinity to Hal Jordan.
I know it would be alot of work, but I'd appreciate some panels on the screen.
I used to do that but it adds another 2 hours to production.
If anyone’s interested in Redacted’s Green Lantern run, Hal Jordan actually beats Guy Gardner in a fist fight in the streets.
Who is redacted
@@portlyrocket4203 His Initials are GJ
That was a Hoax ..an Imaginary Story 😁😁
@@ericbreen4340 I painfully remember after Guy’s adventure with G’nort he then fought Hal with his grey streaks in the streets like it was Rocky 5
@@adamquenano8563 Don't tell Wes , but Guy threw the fight 😁
I get angry now every time I hear “Green Lantern”, because I absolutely hate the new run, it’s terrible. Geoff pitched it as a John Stewart story & said nothing about Jo & Teen Lantern, and they get over 55% of the comic every issue, some issues even more, every single issue they get more pages in the story.
I wonder would Geoff like it if I pitched him a story with one of his favourite characters, got him excited about it, then bring it out but I fill over 55% of the comic with Hal Jordan or some other character he absolutely hates.
But at least now I’m out, I said I’d give it 7 issues after I realised that Jo was going to be a big part of the story, and now I’ve done that.
Sorry Guys. You’re both wrong. The greatest green lantern is Gnort!
Guy > hal
Did Breen get to you?!?!?!
Guy’s my favorite member of the core, I like Hal more as a character.
