A big part of Snart's personality was that he falls in love easy with the wrong women. It added personality to the character. My favorite Captain Cold story was in the early 80s when Flash saves Snart from his broken heart driving him to a murder suicide. That also showed Barry's unique relationship with the Rogues Gallery. He was genuinely invested in helping these flawed people overcome their demons. Another example was Barry (in and out of costume) helping Heat Wave reform and then try to stay straight.

Nice. I need to read more Flash. Been reading the Johns run( omnibuses) and have been loving the Flash. One of my favorite rogues galleries in comics. Especially Captain Cold. And heck flawed/ bad as the CW series Wentworth Miller of prison break playing him was fantastic.

I always liked how Infantino drew his very sparse of detail city scapes.. goes to show you that sometimes less is definitely more..

I focused on the way he drew wide open, Midwestern cities rather than the more claustrophobic cities on the East Coast. It helped distinguish Central City from Metropolis or Gotham.

Further research... one of Flash's early compadres was Ralph Dibney, the Elongated Man who was created in 1960. Plastic Man was first published in 1941. How did Marvel get away with Mr. Fantastic with the first issue of Fantastic Four cover dated 1961?

Flash is my favorite DC super-hero. I have collected him (and other variations) since the 70s.
I have the 3 Silver Age omnibus volumes and they are great if you like 60s DC comics.

I always thought that Captain Cold (Dr. Leonard Snart) and his younger sister the Golden Glider (Lisa Snart, a.k.a. "Lisa Star") were two costumed villains that should've not only remained business partners and partners-in-crime, but who both should've graduated from being just human advanced technology users to becoming super-humans with super-human powers that not only matched their code-names but which also made them both much more powerful and stronger so that the two of them could be taken way more seriously.
Captain Cold is seen as nothing but a weaker version of Mister Freeze and the Golden Glider was never seen as imposing or as intimidating as any of the Flash's other super-villain arch-enemies. The recent changes that they had made to both of their characters over the years were okay, but not quite good enough in my personal, honest opinion. Captain Cold should've become like an evil version Iceman with the super-human power to alter his physical structure into living, sentient ice, and the super-human powers to control, create, generate, and manipulate ice without any apparent limits. The Golden Glider should've been transformed into a costumed, super-powered being who can alter her physical structure into living, sentient gold, granting her super-human strength, super-human stamina, and super-human durability, and also gain organic, bio-metallic, retractable golden glider wings that are similar to the shape of a hang-glider, enabling her to fly by gliding on air currents at great speeds.
This would've definitely improved the two super-villain characters, and made them much more dangerous, and deadly as professional criminals in the DC Comics Universe.

As much as I love the feud with Reverse Flash, I prefer the Flash/Captain Cold rivalry. Cold is a great foil to The Flash and they always have great interactions.
The Flash has the power of speed whereas Cold has his Cold gun and his cunning.
Honestly, they would be great friends if Snart wasn't a villain and Barry wasn't a Superhero.
Captain Cold is way too brooding and serious these days. He was more laid back and wise cracking during the silver age.
