I visited Sendai way way back in 2008 for exactly a day. Arrived by Shinkansen from Osaka ( where I was staying during my trip ). Visited the history museum. Ryotaro's Japan is becoming my favourite RUclips channel. Hopefully visiting the country next year and Sendai is on my list. Thanks for everything Ryotaro!
Eel used to be a great delicacy on the coast of the Baltic sea. especially smoked. After the Estonia sank in 1994 the people lost their eel-appetite for quite some time though.

Everything goes together, Ryotaro. They all go together 😂 I had some unagi in a local restaurant recently. But the cook wasn't very good. The unagi was soso and the rice was dry long grain rice. 😔 I hope to eat good unagi someday.
@Ryotaro's Japan Hahaha. I would love to come with my colleague who really really wants to visit Japan. I think I'd enjoy it very much. But it's just not something that's very high on my list of priorities + I think traveling is a hassle. And I fear I would spend way too much money on eating everything I can afford 😅 For one thing, I'd wanna try every kind of onigiri I'd find in the local convenience store.

7:28 Question: why aren't spoons provided in most Japanese restaurants (exception: ramen)? Unagi is my must have hot dish whenever visiting Japan, but it's so difficult to scoop up all the rice without a spoon, especially when served in a box.
Japanese rice is stickier compared to, for example the rice served in Southeast Asia, so it is not hard to pick the eel and the rice at once with chopsticks,. However, it gets harder as the rice gets soaked with the sauce. In its case, just pick the box up and just wolf it down!
