**NOTIFICATION SQUAD** Yes, it is finally a video about Japanese food! I recently realized that so many friends of mine own restaurants all over Japan and I decided to make a series of videos introducing dishes that are not yet found in other RUclips channels such as Abxxxd in Japan. So stay tuned!
@@captainbaconsky this has been a thing in some European bars for over a decade. When I visited Prague once there was even a 'competition' style event between different bars for the night with a projected live tally of pints poured. In Poland at a brewery restaurant I visited they had taps at the indoor tables too this was all about 2010 :)
But if you think about it, he is expressing what we as viewers would be. And I won't lie, I am like that when i watch Ryotaro's videos. His energy, wonder and eventual satisfaction? Makes me absolutely envious and wanting to get to Japan soon...(god...damn Pandemic though)
While Chris tastes lots of alcohol and fried chicken and tries not to die while eating tons of udon, Ryotaro tries high quality meat, chicken and udon. Both channels are amazing. Love you guys.
"Japanese Reaction Noises", and then a bunch of British talk in the captions that change the longer the video goes. Love how you and Chris take playful shots at each other!
Momo is an excellent restaurant. The quality of the beef is only surpassed by the friendliness of the staff. The A5 Wagyu meat was of great quality and did melt in the mouth. Before visiting the restaurant, I did not realise that the preparation at the table is of such advantage. The meat is grilled only briefly and then eaten immediately. No delay in the kitchen, no meat getting cold while earing. The friendly staff made the evening a memorable experience. Will return to the place whenever I‘m in Sendai.
When I was in Sendai I of course had some delicious gyutan, but I got the best of both worlds and scoffed down a famichiki on the way back to my hotel at the end of the day. Loved it.
Ryotaro callouts are laser-guided. I also love the energy and familiarity he has with these places. The only critique I have is that his voiceover audio has a ton of reverb, which is weird because his normal audio is great.
In the US (at least here in the Southern US), we'd call that cream soda a "float." For example, a scope of ice cream in a Coke a cola we'd call a "Coke Float"
Sendai blew my mind for food when I was there. Completely unexpected. Even the Sendai Matsuya Tonkatsu across the road from the train station was up there with the best Tonkatsu I've ever had (including Katsukura, etc). I love the city.
Surely, SURELY, Mr Chris Broad was involved here somewhere...the subtitles positively reek of his Britishness! But seriously, thank you Ryotoro for this tour of your favourite recommended restaurants!
I actually had not heard of many of the food you talked about in this video, very good stuff! will definitely have to check some of them out eventually.
Brilliant! I had my first Japanese food in 1970. My Mum took me to Hiroko, the first Japanese restaurant in London for my 14th birthday. I can't remember everything we ate but I definitely recall having suki yake, it was my first experience of dipping meat into raw egg. I was very dubious at first, i dipped and tentatively took a bite and then "oh boy"...absolute heaven. I believe they flew the meat in directly from Japan, no British beef I'd ever had was that juicy, succulent and tasty....Watching Ryotaro digging in is a joy to watch, I can almost taste the flavors and smell the aromas.... sorry for the gush, can't help it, it's meat done to perfection and I want some.....
Schochu cream soda sounds amazing. I used to have a beer tap in my kitchen, barrel-> cooler->tap->glass. A Schochu tap is awesome. Come on UK catch up with this tech!
I'm still at the first part of the video and it looks like I won't be able to afford this! And Ryotaro's getting better in front of the camera - not that he's bad before!
The best RUclipsr in Sendai returns! But in all seriousness, loving these videos on 'lesser known' (from a foreigners perspective) on local businesses. Just shows what great things are hiding just round a corner. Also. I like to think the 'Marbles Team' hoodie is intentional to go with the Marbled Beef at the Yakiniku...
The udon bar is so much fun. I love it. I will visit all 3 places the next time I visit. I will stay a few days in Sendai area the next time I visit Japan.
I hope you can bring "guest" from time to time. Not necessarily Chris or Sharla. Preferably someone who will be surprise too. Someone who has not tried those yet. Best video so far for me.
Your Japanese accent is so refreshing after hearing Chris Board talk like an anime supervillain lol love you guys, and thank you for showing what Japan means to you Ryotaro!
I have been to the shochu on tap udon restaurant! Very fun. I am interested in the others! Momo looks like it has a view over Jozenjidori! Please do a few more shots of the outside/inside of the restaurants so we can understand the atmosphere a bit better too. Ichinoi also looks like a cool place to visit!
I love how you fist pumped the cook! 🤜🤛 I always wonder about japanese perception on food other than an instant reaction of satisfaction. I wish I could eat this!
Great you Tube Ryotaro, I’ll be coming to Japan October 2023, I’ll definitely go to No. 3 Udon “Shichi Hiemon” for dinner. Looks great. In Australia we call the drink “Ice Cream Soda” I love them. I particularly enjoy “Bundaberg”Ginger Beer ice cream Soda.
In the last couple of months, Ryotaro has really found a good style for his videos, which I greatly enjoy. When this whole Corona show is over and I go to Japan again, I'll see if I can go see some more of Tohoku ^_^

Hi! :D
yum!
Man f*ck Abxxxd in Japan. All my homies hate Abxxxd in Japan.
@@davecroes3086 looool
Ryotoro Bro, you always do a good job !
God forbid the day we have sake tips in England. That was genuinely amazing haha
They will destroy the flowmeter and make it all-you-can-drink probably in the U.K.
I could see this easily work in beer breweries. Big fan of this idea.

@@NilePlumb figures, I haven't been in an european bar in 10 years.
Sake tips or sake taps? 😏
Me thinks Chris also might’ve sample some shochu tonight. 😄
The udon bar guy kinda looks like Japanese Elon Musk
That is exactly what I thought when I was looking back the footages. I will tell him.
aaaa, you're right :D
My wife and I legit were thinking the same thing lol
I came here to say this 😆
Japanese Elon Musk :)
I love how Ryotaro always looks just naturally bewildered and amazed by everything.
Expressing gratitude on a daily basis regardless of what you eat and where you eat it is part of his culture. Even if it is fake at times.
But if you think about it, he is expressing what we as viewers would be. And I won't lie, I am like that when i watch Ryotaro's videos. His energy, wonder and eventual satisfaction? Makes me absolutely envious and wanting to get to Japan soon...(god...damn Pandemic though)
"The British peasant"
-The Japanese aristocrat
I love how this is a thing now lol
While Chris tastes lots of alcohol and fried chicken and tries not to die while eating tons of udon, Ryotaro tries high quality meat, chicken and udon. Both channels are amazing. Love you guys.
Ryotaro sneakily posting this at (JP) 12 a.m. in the morning so that Chris doesn't see it in his subscription feed LOL
Didn’t work out Chris instantly posted a comment lmao
@@therepublic21 took him an hour to realise though, he probably uses Ryotaro's videos to fall asleep to XD
Bold of you to assume he's subscribed
Not even a minute into the video and Chris gets roasted. Ryotaro is relentless and I love it.
i wonder who the camera man is lol
Waiting for Top 3 risottos in Sendai
That is not a bad idea lol
I appreciate that Ryotaro can not only switch his languages extremely well, but also his reactions as well when he switches between the two languages.
So now I HAVE to come to Sendai.
Also Sugoi = Blimey
Sugoi is as useful as Blimey, mate.
Use it whenever you feel good in Japan.
@@RyotarosJapan I’ll have to use it in Sendai
Editing on this is ... *chefs kiss*
"Japanese Reaction Noises", and then a bunch of British talk in the captions that change the longer the video goes. Love how you and Chris take playful shots at each other!
I am imagining you going from one restaurant to another with no break in between. You'd probably be in a food coma after that.

years of video's with chris have prepared him for this haha

can't decide if these subtitles are a scam or the best thing ever
I love Ryotaro's enthusiasm, you can see he is really enjoying himself and not just pretending like some!
When I was in Sendai I of course had some delicious gyutan, but I got the best of both worlds and scoffed down a famichiki on the way back to my hotel at the end of the day. Loved it.
These videos are just marvellous. I’m going to have to name drop Ryotaro when I go to the bars hoping I get preferential treatment.
You can know it is good if this man is not only appreciate the food, but also the chef and the owner.
Why does it almost feel like Chris edited this video because there are so many digs on Ryotaro in the video 🤣
Also the ''to the queen'' at the cheers - suspicious to say the least...
Ryotaro callouts are laser-guided. I also love the energy and familiarity he has with these places.
The only critique I have is that his voiceover audio has a ton of reverb, which is weird because his normal audio is great.
"Do you ever want to eat it yourself?"
(Solemn and silent contemplation of eating it himself)
In the US (at least here in the Southern US), we'd call that cream soda a "float." For example, a scope of ice cream in a Coke a cola we'd call a "Coke Float"
Same in the northeast, that'd be a root beer float or just a __"float"
In UK, at least where I am, we use ice cream float :)
I've only had cream soda as a flavor. Anything with ice cream is a float. I'm from the northwest.
In Australia, we call them spiders!
Same we called it here in PH coke float if its Coke or Royal Float if its Royal
Sendai blew my mind for food when I was there. Completely unexpected.
Even the Sendai Matsuya Tonkatsu across the road from the train station was up there with the best Tonkatsu I've ever had (including Katsukura, etc).

Risottaro! This was your best video yet. Gambate kurasai!
Love how Ryotaro's video is the polar opposite of Chris's stuff.
Chris annoyed brit vs Ryotaro hyper active 元気 man.
Yes, I had this same thought and you said it better.
Nice job with the subtitles. Also great colour, composition, and Ryotoro is always smiling and chatting away.
Momo's is the best recommendation... travelled from Australia and was not disappointed... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
Always great to see a Ryotaro notification! 😎🙌❤
We call those icecream/fizzy combos "spiders" here in Australia. Mostly popular at kids parties.
Surely, SURELY, Mr Chris Broad was involved here somewhere...the subtitles positively reek of his Britishness! But seriously, thank you Ryotoro for this tour of your favourite recommended restaurants!
i love chris‘s subtitling, for example all those „bloody lush mate“s and so on are really good
Really great editing for this one, good job and keep up the good work!
Man, just stumbled on to you, but my goodness I enjoy watching you. You're so vibrantly full of happiness and it makes me feel better. Huge fan.

what a great video, i enjoyed every editing effort went into the production of this video as well!!

Throwing shade at Chris lmfao! Never gets old
Can't believe I only just clocked Ryotaro has his own channel. Love it :)
I love your videos bro! keep the excellent job, greetings from Ecuador, South America

Ryotaro, you have to do more of these food videos in other parts of the country! This was my favorite of your videos yet.
Ryotaro, the legend of Sendai.
I will definitely put Sendai on my list of places to visit in Japan once we can travel again.

Love you, Ryotaro!! Love your vids!
