Along the same lines as the “Life is Short Tour”, there’s a restaurant here in the United States (specifically Las Vegas) called Heart Attack Grill. It intentionally serves high-calorie, high-fat food. The waiters and waitresses are referred to as “doctors” and “nurses” and wear the associated costumes. Customers are called “patients” and wear medical gowns. The restaurant has a line of burgers with the word “bypass” in their names (Single Bypass, Double Bypass, Triple Bypass, etc.), and if you weigh 350 lbs or more, you eat for free.

You pretty much have to do overtime to have a decent standard of living if you are of the working class(everything is expensive and the taxes are high). Average life expectancy for men seems to be 78 years atm, but I don't expect to live even close to that long considering the nature of my work.
@@Aqnde I'd love 38 hours 😂 do you mean 14 hours of overtime?
I'd love to see a "Journey Across Aomori" where you and the crew ride around on motorcycles as an 80s bike gang to different cafes reviewing apple pies. ^^
Natsuki, Joey and Pete on motorbikes might just cause enough mayhem to be a global news story.
I think the boys on the Trash Taste podcast discussed this!
That's hilarious. Is it any good?
@@Emperorerror It's a gimmick restaurant in Vegas, what do you think :P
The staff also have CPR training
@@Emperorerror it's good for the first two bites man but it depends wether or not you like fattier food.
Hey Chris
A travel Company in Switzerland just had a lecture about japan and he mentioned you. Love seeing you spread out.
Note to self: Do not watch Abroad In Japan while hungry. Man, that all looks so delicious...
I just had dinner and I was salivating!
I did it intentionally😂. Because I'm about to binge eat while watching a movie marathon.
Pro tip: Watch Abroad In Japan while eating and imagine ur eating the food in the show and not instant ramen
right!! i am now eating due to this video 😭🔥
I only watch abroad in japan while eating now
*Chris at the end of Journey Across Japan* "it's been fun but I'm glad it's over"
*Chris one week later* "We're going on another road trip!"
Chris i just want to say that I’m going through a really tough time in my life, and watching your videos really is a huge joy in my life. Your adventure videos with Natsuki, Ryotaro and Joey are like hanging out with good friends and exploring a part of the world i one day hope to be able to enjoy myself! I love your channel and appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos. Happy new year and looking forward to even more videos in the future :)
Richard III (King of England): "My kingdom for a horse"
Risottoro (Future Conqueror of the world): "My kingdom for an apple"
The ultimate crossover would be Chris and James may
Someone needs to make it happen!
Indeed, look at May's shenanigans while in Japan: ruclips.net/video/hshz2LhxuPY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/lku3ew_qC5o/видео.html

BREAKING NEWS: British Man arrested after stabbing friend with a fork
Friend ? You mean mortal enemy 🙄
@@HeavenlyCreature. Mortal enemy? You mean secret JAV star... (Ozawa Tōru)
@@DM-kv9kj Well I won't lie to you I would pay to see that ... especially if it's with Chris 😋
Oi you got a licence for that fork?
Ey, is call a fokk!
So now Ryotaro is trying to kill Chris the guaranteed way: Through his stomach.
HI 🐷🇯🇵
For real though, 90% of trichinosis cases are from undercooked bear meat, so make sure you cook it all the way.
The odds of Chris liking this comment is -100%
Lol hahaha!
@@Nswix I have no idea what that even is, but it sounds dangerous
You probably won’t see this but I have begun learning Japanese and I love your videos! Thanks for the content and inspiration!
Dont lie, Chris. Ryotaro is the apple of your eye.
You are going to piss off Natsuki !!!
🐷🇯🇵
So Japan’s prefecture with the lowest life expectancy matches the American state with the highest life expectancy (Hawaii). If it’s really down to salty and sweet foods, that makes sense.
Yeah....we don't take care of our health here man 😂.
If you kill Rissotoro in Aomori, wouldn't the life expectancy go up cause as we all know Rissotoro is 400+ years
no my friend, it would go down.
like chris would if this happened
@@titancaster3246 Mate, if you die older than the average life expectancy then the life expectancy will go higher.
You can really see how much u enjoy it these days❤️🔥🔥 happy for u bro
Is it just me or was Chris and Ryotaro's chemistry in this video off the charts?
That's an alcoholic breakfast for you......
HI 🐷🇯🇵
Was half expecting Ryotaro to say "Now, let's see if a bear enjoys eating you!" As a big super villain reveal
It's been about a week since I discovered this channel, and since then I've binge watched pretty much all the content since about mid 2016... Its been thoroughly enjoyable living through your adventures in a country I'd love to visit again - particularly in the middle of a British lockdown! Thanks for continuing to provide really interesting and engaging content, I look forward to keeping up to date. Also, as if I wasn't already hooked on Japan, an apple pie map would have sold me!
I am so happy to see ryotoro and chris back together, making videos!! Happy 2021 yall!
This prefecture has almost practically everything I want to try in Japan. Really makes me think of the phrase "here for a good time, not a long time" in light of what was covered in this video though.
I will never stop suspecting that Chris and Ryotaro are secretly married.
Gotta get that green card some how.
Ew that's gay
@Edward Fletcher Well that's a weirdly defensive comment for what was pretty obviously a joke. Projecting much?
"Im gonna say this is some kind of local steak"
"Yeah, local bear"
"Local b.. what?? local bear?"
For some reason, the videos about food are relaxing. I really love them Chris, please keep eating your way through Japan.
Alternative title: Why This Japanese Town Eats Raw Bambi
After watching the video the comment finally clicked and is hilarious
Not many might remember but Chris already had a video about Hirosaki quite some time ago and thanks to him last year I went exactly to the same cafe with the apple curry dish and gotta say it was really tasty.
also my favorite apple pie in hirosaki was in starbucks :p
US: "As American as apple pie."
Aomori: "Hold my Ichiban."
Interestingly, it was an American Methodist missionary/botanist named John Ing who introduced apples to Aomori in the 1870s. Lots of cross pollination between the USA and Japan.
@@ianmichaelsmith We got their cherry trees (shoutout to D.C.) and they got our apple trees. Good trade.
Ryotaro's Rap is awesome. I really love your videos Chris. I wish I could live in Japan.
Curry and the apple pie with a glass of crisp cold cider just sounds so delightful!
Ryotaro: THIS IS MY APPLE KINGDOM
Doctors: *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*
that reconstruction of seeing a bear sign is award-worthy.
It’s from an older video. The one where he gets that car
One of the most beautiful videos you published so far in my opinion!
I guess you could say Aomori must be an _unbearable_ place to visit if you're a bear lover xD
Ryotaro's *"rap"* is definitely the highlight in this video lol
It is anathema to Kumamon and his daemonic followers. It is therefore said Aomori is immune to pyres.
Just when I thought Chris was out of content. He strikes again!
"Why do the Aomori people eat bears?"
Me: "Revenge"
HI 🐷🇯🇵
BIG CONGRATS, Chris!!! for reaching 2m subs...have been your fan since the first Journey Across Japan!!!
