Christie Aschwanden, I love you so. What a joy it was to do this program together--I am so grateful our stories are so intertwined, so grateful we learned together what a blessing envy can be.
Had my mother learned to recognize her envy toward other women, she might have had a more enriching loving experience as a mom and much better relationships with her two daughters and their children. How we think about what we feel about the objects of our jealousy, perceived or imagined, may quite possible present us with the keys to the kingdom.
Such a perfect exploration and expression of the problem and the transcendence of it. Thank you. I’m inspired to send it to my sister or friends where there’s been a pattern of envy - but whether to or not? 😆😆
No she's right. Jealousy is closer to being territorial and protective of what you actually have while envy is feeling upset about things that others have that you want, not the other way around. The key difference is who has the object of desire. Jealousy = you have it and want to keep it. Envy = you don't have it but you really want it.

You are talking about jealousy.
Jealousy and envy have a thin line of difference.
