Watching the Crimson Guitar build guitars on their channel is utterly fascinating. What I love is that they put a lot of thought into their builds, they don't just make something that is pretty. Their Cyberpunk 2077 guitar is pretty awesome.
I briefly looked at an article about this competition. I'm excited to see everybody's builds! I liked the idea for your build and am looking forward to seeing the outcome. I bet it will look, and sound great! This is a win, win for everyone involved. no losers here, great idea. I'm also looking forward to getting to know some builders and you tubers I'm not yet aware of

Your mention of the 'finish' people gave me pause for thought: I recently daydreamed about an outrageous finish/paintjob for an ES-style guitar being a totally, full-on, Grateful Dead-tiedye (white undercoat, total rainbow tiedye!), but now the added glitz of the colors being done in their metallic glitter!

To anyone who supports guitars for vets I recommend operation song it's an organization that travels around meeting veterans who have a story to tell and they make it a song as a coping mechanism.

Funny thing is, Guns n Guitars did do something that no one (AFAIK) predicted, but I feel we all should have guessed when he asked for no neck pocket and no pickup route: he built a bass.

BIG D did the most safest build. It was a standard build for him with very little creativity outside what is normal for him. Needless to say, it was a beautiful guitar.
For some reason I really love the idea of a Gold Top/TV Yellow mashup for the body. Basically, a Gold Top that's still barely translucent enough to see the grain. Then just oil the mahogany.

The others on the "unofficial" builds are looking amazing as well. I think some of them may outshine the main builds.

I love PRS but I do wish they'd do a satin neck. :P
They have an SE single cut semi hollow with a satin neck. Its that dude from Shinedown's signature but it's a good satin neck.

Hi. I'm looking forward to see how your guitar GGBO became. C'mon, man, the suspense is killing us.
Lately I've been building guitars out of zebrano, maple, wenge and ayous. Zebrano smells like wet dog, wenge smells like cocoa, ayous smells sweet and almost flowery! Funny how they all have a very distinctive smell. I work mahogany and sapele regularly but they just smell "woody" to me. Like maple, there is nothing distinctive to the smell.
If you build it, they will come

As a long time fan of your channel I'm so happy you were invited into this challenge. For someone who has been promoting a positive guitar community for years it would have been a mistake if they left you out. I look forward to the rest of your videos and wish you and your charity good luck. Hope to see some future collaborations with the other channels. Maybe go up to Colorado and do a set up class with Texs Toast the next time they have one.

Most people could not do what the others are doing/have done.
You're showing people what is more easily achievable - knowledge that can be used to sharpen ANY kit.
How to make parts work together in harmony.
Also a different take in ways like the flake paint job.
I watch many of the entrants - because they all bring something different to the table.
I watch you for the same reason.

Seriously... if anyone beats Ben it’s a travesty!! His guitar is amazing!! The only thing working against him is that anyone who is familiar with his previous work may have already been conditioned to the amazingness of his creations... if anyone else built what Ben has built the whole of the RUclips guitar community would be going totally crazy over it, but with Ben this kind of thing has come to be expected... Phil is exactly right about that, but I still believe Ben wins.

…tied with 3x3 Custom - super clean straightforward build. Nice shape and top!
Crimson - outlandish awesome, but I’d never go on stage with it.
Texas Toast - amazing look, but breaks your back.
Know Your Gear - ? haven’t seen final, but I like the PRS shape and expect a great finish
Big D - I don’t do Teles, nice finish, but I’m not into chevron flames either.
Angove - popping grain!, but shape hmm. And pickguards don’t connect smoothly.
Diresta - maybe with a smooth gloss finish and the original burnt look underneath. How heavy is that thing anyways?
