Once again, thank you for sharing your knowledge through your experiences, it is greatly appreciated, and I am going to put it into practice.

Really good advice, this has been my experience mixing as well: referencing always makes my mix better. I never understood why my mixes always sounded incredible when I was doing a cover, its because I was referencing the entire way through.

Yes, for sure man! The turning point for me was referencing different parts of the frequency spectrum and not all at once. That can be quite overwhelming and hard to hear what is different between the two mixes.

@@MOMetalProductions I decided to get the PA subscription to try out Metric AB and I really see what you mean now, this is going to change my mixing life forever... Especially being able to solo out the subs and see how the kick and bass are interacting. I am recording a "cover" of Onward into Battle by Katatonia because that record has my absolute favorite drum sound ever and this plugin and approach of referencing each spectrum has gotten me very far indeed lol I am learning all types of stuff that I do wrong and how to fix problems I couldn't even hear. Thanks for the video man

Hey man this video was really helpful! I can't get this plugin to open in my DAW since it crashes when I start it up, but I can get a similar effect with some eq cuts for different ranges. Would you ever consider making anything for mixing heavy guitars? I love the content!

I usually just buy the tracks off the bands Bandcamp page and download it in WAV 🙂

It's so obvious but I also had the same question 😂
