    Just bought a 19 fusion energi with 25k miles a couple weeks ago. Just filled my tank Friday for the first time. Was daily driving all F250 and putting 60 dollars every 2 days in the tank. Even with the financing it's gonna cost a couple hundred less per month to drive it.

    Just bought a 2019 fusion energi a few weeks ago, loving it. Getting about 19-22 miles per charge. After charge between 38-44 mpg. It all depends on how you drive and conditions.
    Driving seems very luxurious, especially night driving with the ambient lighting! Sound system (sony 12 speakers) sounds amazing, the quality is great but volume could be slightly louder.
    Very small trunk and it does not have the get up and go a normal vehicle would.
    But the savings in gas is amazing. I absolutely love this fusion energi.

    In 2014 I purchased a Ford Hybrid SE Fusion coming off lease with 20k miles, never had one before. This week I'm looking at buying a replacement 2020 fusion titanium energi with 11k miles. It is hard to go with ANY other mid size sedan because my SE has 180k miles, avg. 40 mpg going 70 mph with air conditioning on full blast. So, I was looking at Camrys, Accords, Mazda 6s for more of a engaged driving experience, but I cannot get away from the MPG and smooth ride. So I'm hoping my new fusion will be just as good as the old.

      @@pickygarage So my dad recently bought this Fusion(2014) model for $2k lol. It was slightly hit on the side and the owner was out of state and wanted to get rid of it. Has 177k miles on it and the interior is still mint.
      So I got to play around with the car for a bit and was most impressed by how smooth and light the car felt on acceleration. I myself own a 2008 Lexus RX400h Hybrid and I get around 28mpgs with that thing. But I was very impressed with PHEV. So impressed actually that I told my dad I might end up getting PHEVs sedan in the future. One thing I was confused about was the mpgs you get. But if you are actually getting around 60-80 mpgs, that's a major game changer to cars in general, as you know we have a gas crisis. Me, I have done alot of research in the automotive industry and so I'm always looking for innovative technology. Like right now I'm have an awesome idea to charge hands free without having to plug in the charger every night.
      Honestly, I might end up looking into how this car was engineered and see if Ford can bring back the technology in some manner in an improved form. That was just how impressed I was with this vehicle, even in battered form, with brakes that needs to be replaced and grinding the rotors lol.

      @@S.s.s_88 if your still looking i wouldn't recommend getting any hybrid, plug in hybrid or EV that's used and older then 3 years old.
      Those batteries do not last forever and if its used and not under warranty you could be paying tens of thousands out of pocket to replace the battery when it inevitably goes bad, that goes for EVERY brand including Toyota.
      if your looking for something affordable id wait until the Chip/car shortage from covid ends to buy a car, even used cars right now have inflated price tags because of this shortage. Right now a NICE 2-3 year old lightly used Fusion energy that was worth 18-19k b4 covid hit is now running 25-27k, save yourself ALOT of money and just wait a few months if you can, prices will go back down. If you NEED a car right now, buy a cheap cheap 1-3k beater car to get you from point A to B till this car shortage ends, when it end just trade the beater car in for the fusion energy you want.

You can get these suckers dirt cheap if you have the time to wait and you save so much on insurance and gas. 800 to 1400 miles on a tank? What i saw on papers its showing 695+ on total range. could you please explain ? im about to buy ford fusion hybrid / energi. My main concern is fuel economy.

    • @pickygarage
      @pickygarage  Год назад

      so the range will be based on how far your daily commute is or how far you drive. If you only drive 20miles a day then you will only use full electric. I drive less than 15 miles a day so my daily commutes are normally on full electric. Whenever i have a far drive lets say 50 miles then only 20 miles of that will be on electric and the rest will be on the hybrid gas/electric. So it will average out. the shorter trips you take between charges the better gas milage you will get. please let me know if you have any questions! How are you getting 60-80 mpg??? I just bought a fusion energi and i only get 33.5mpg in hybrid mode. My daily commute can exceed 2-300 miles so after 20 miles of EV im pretty much on 80% hybrid mode. Also, i find the gas engine extremely slow, i love the electric motor but wish it had a higher threshold before switching to gas. Also, would like a more peppy 4 cylinder gas motor like accord or altima, the fusion has ZERO torque when you use the gas engine. Electric its expected and perfect for traffic or slow driving, but for having to get on the freeway its a powerless, high reving 4 banger that feels slower than a corolla.

      Planetary Gear refers to the electric motor component not the transmission. Since the ENERGI is half gas motor, half electric, the gas motor uses a CVT in conjunction with the Planetary gear for seamless back and forth between the gas and electric motor.

      David Webster the transmission has two electric motors that can act as generators or motors as needed which effectively simulate what a CVT does

    • @AarmOZ84
      @AarmOZ84 4 года назад

      It is a CVT, but not a belt driven CVT like the ones that are loaded with issues. It is rather ran by a planetary gear system that is controlled by the start/generator motor and the traction motor while the gas engine maintains a constant speed (up to 6,000 RPM) during the acceleration of the vehicle.

    My Fusion 1.5 EcoBoost can go 10k miles without an oil change. It isn't a hybrid thing. It's the fact that it uses a full synthetic oil as opposed to a conventional, or synthetic blend oil.

    3:18 - It DOES have a transmission. Its called a CVT. Perhaps you are referring to the electric motor.

      Actually, its an ecvt. Its a planetary gear and then other gears for gas engine after it engages. Its not like a cvt with bands.

    Does the battery power drain first then the gas or do they both run at the same time?

      And do u have to charge it everyday?

    • @pickygarage
      @pickygarage  4 года назад +1

      Yes I charge it everyday as I drive more that 25 miles. The extended battery runs first and then after the 25 miles on full electric the car switches to hybrid model utilizing both gas and electric.
