@@ELSMITH3378 Aside from not having the Sony sound system and fancy useless cruse control, my 15 SE Luxury package has a FAR nicer interior than his. The beautiful French stiched black leather really beings the interior to another level, and the tasteful fo wood grain? Makes you feel like you're sitting in a lower level BMW or Audi. Aside from a few extra gadgets the SE Luxury package is the way to go IMO. If not just for the Hybrids French Stiched leather. The SE Luxury package adds all the exterior appointments too!

I love my 2014 fusion SE AWD. So many options like blind spot monitor, lane keep assist / aid, cross path detection, auto wipers / high beams. It's got the 18 inch rims and I'm only on my 2nd set of tires and it's got 86000 kms on it. It is AWD and the tires wear pretty even. Just love our Fusion. Last week I hit a goose in mid flight (Doing 60 km/h) and the dam bird took out my windshield. Glad it hit the passenger side since no one was sitting there.

I agree. As gas prices go higher and higher I think the crossover craze is going to end. People will want another sedan with good MPG. Ford isnt even going to make a Focus for god sake!! I bought a 2012 Focus for my daughter and that thing would get 40mpg. Try that in a crossover!! So yea I think its a big mistake to stop all sedan production. It wont be long until people want them back

    • @JerseyWP
      @JerseyWP 5 лет назад +1

I disagree if they bring back the fusion it'll be because of public demand and not over gas prices. The SUV that Ford makes Eco,Escape,Edge,Explorer,Expedition all come with 4cyl eco boast engines and 6cyl EcoBoost and the gas milage are quite comparable to the sedans some actually over lap, like Escape and Fusions are almost identical ,the lower end Escapes have better mileage then a platinum and sport fusion.I own a Fusion Sport and it is by far the best car I've ever owned ,so much fun to drive,Metalic Grey,Dark tinted out windows,I blacked out all the chrome including the grille and removed all the Ford badging and I get asked all the time what is that car your drive,I've even had people take pictures of my car and that's never happened with previous vehicles including previous fusions.Im thinking they are making a mistake but how can I argue with the quite frankly pioneers at least in the technology part of the auto industry, they have technology in their vehicles 4-5 yrs before anyone else.

It is loaded, with all the extras including expensive black wheels (18" tires.) It is the smoothest, quietest ride I've ever owned, but I got a ticket soon after buying it, because it gets up to 80+ very quickly. It is Ruby Red, which changes from dark red in the shade to metallic red in the sun, with 3 coats of clear coat. A fabulous car that I was lucky to find on the net, 1,000 miles from my home.

I had to see what you don't like about your Fusion. There was some interesting information I didn't know, or didn't think of. Good to know! Now I have to check out my gear shift. I've always just driven in Drive, never checked out the rest of it (the S means Sport, huh? I kinda thought that but never investigated it.). The one thing I didn't understand was why no lower gears? Idk why the hell anyone would pay $1,000-$1,200 every 30,000 miles to put new tires on a mid-grade, American made sedan. If those name brand tires are only lasting 30,000 miles, you either do not know how to drive, or you have severe alignment issues. Any good, name brand tire should be warrantied to at least 50,000-70,000 miles, and probably last way longer than that. My wife has a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium that had the original Goodyear Eagle RS-A 235/45R18 94 V Tire
s, and they lasted 115,000 miles until we replaced them, with the same tires, and it cost about $500 for all four, with mounting, balancing, aligning, and free rotations for the life of the tires. Whoever you are going to for tires is loving making a killing off of you.

Owned a base hybrid 2014 for 5 years and yes it was bullet proof. Never had an issue. I replaced it with a 2019 Fusion SEL Hybrid (in 2020) just because I got such a great deal (half of new cost) with a high trade in value and low price on a rental car with 35k miles. I will probably never get such a good deal again. Love these cars as reliable transportation that get great gas mileage and has very good performance, well pretty good anyway. I will probably replace it in 2025. It will be interesting to see with what... Thanks for doing these videos!

I also checked with different tire companies in my area (Goodyear, Firestone, Tires Plus, etc) and their around the same price. He could have paid less if he went with a different brand and different quality. He didn't get ripped off, for Michelin, you're going to pay more. I gotta 14 FFH and it’s awesome; gets pretty good mpg, goes faster than a prius, and it’s just fun to be stealthy in EV mode... However I did notice the tires went bad pretty quick, now I use Pirelli P4 All Season Plus (consumer reports said these tires lasted over 100,000+ miles on their test vehicle). Also inflating your tires to max pressure (or a little below it) will help decrease the rolling resistance and should help squeeze more miles out of the tires, but the trade off is comfort... Also the lug nuts and oil drain plug are not very high quality and I had to replace them with durable ones.

I just bought my first set of Milestars, so far so good, ride well and handle well, a hell of a lot better than the Uniroyals I just took off. They actually have a warranty which is unusual on an 18in low profile tire. The Goodyears that it came with new were absolute rubbish, got less than 20,000 miles and had no warranty.

I replaced the 19" Michelins that only lasted about 20k miles on my wife's '13 Taurus SEL AWD with a set of General Altimax tires. They're grippy as hell, quiet, have worn MUCH better than the Michelins, and cost much less.
19" lower-profile wheels don't have to drain your wallet. Just don't buy the softest compound tires on the market and they'll last longer. For those of you that live up in snow country, sorry...

In 2021, I Purchased a 2015 Ford Fusion SE 1.5L engine with 141000 miles on it for $4000 at a dealers auction. Major fix was to have the airbags replaced and a few other repairs with total cost of $2000. Overall, it appears previous owners took fantastic care of the vehicle. Body is flawless and the shine like a new car. Transmission is great and changes seamlessly. The engine runs smoothly and I consider my purchase a steal. I service my car regularly at every 5,000 miles coz I use it for deliveries. Have put 20,000 miles on it since I started using it.
Just last week had a problem with some whining sound from the serpentine belt area and it happened to be the water pump going bad. Had it replaced as well as the timing belt, serpentine belt, pulleys and tensioners. Cost for that @ $1100 parts and labor. Car running like new again. Now, I'm assured of at least another 60,000 miles of smooth, comfortable, fuel-saving driving on those changed components. I get about 29 highway driving miles/gallon. Resale value now is @ $12,000 that I'm being offered. BUT, There's nothing I would trade my Ford Fusion for.

I rented a 2019 Fusion Titanium FWD this September. Did 2500mls with it on all sorts of road and track. Here's what I think coming from a European perspective:
    What I liked:
+suspensions (they're amazing, confortable & dynamic, and I really pushed them both on and off road)
+engine (loads of torque, quiet, smooth, 30+ mpg, nice stop&start system, turbo-lag is small and it's not sensitive to altitude, I ran 91-93 fuel)
+look (especially for a model that's getting older, it looks great)
    +interior space
    +equipment level (autopilot is nice)
+air con (I never had to touch the temperature and I never felt any discomfort from the vent blowing at my face like on many cars, tested it from freezing to really hot)
+quiet and easy to drive at a high cruise speed even on bad roads (my driving style is smooth but fast and the car was great for it)
    What I didn't like:
-the 19" wheel and Conti tires while the suspension take care of the larger bump, you feel all the small ones way too much, grip and feeling is inadequate, but I'm used to summer tires so that's maybe normal on All Seasons)
    -no front parking assist
-the seat didn't support me very well I had back pain (that's really a bummer, and I tried a lot of different setting during those 2500mls)
-the headlights (I had the full LED and they're just like most american headlights, pretty rubbish)
Overall I liked the car. And driving a car for 2500mls, you get to know it well.
I drove in city, on highway, in traffic, on open roads, on dirt roads, on sand roads blasting through the desert... The car did great and I always looked back while walking away after parking it :)
PS: i almost forgot: sedans drives and rides so much better than Crossover/SUV's !

As for the tire thing, I'm surprised the 19" equipped cars have this problem. We have an SE with 18" wheels and had to replace ours at 25,000 miles. I assumed that meant the tire design was junk, but now this has me thinking it might have something to do with the car itself. It's interesting.

Put it in S mode for more control over the transmission. There's a book in the glove box called the owners manual. I suggest to read it to find out all the features of your car and how they work. Rob, I think you did a good job. I appreciate this as I am about to purchase a used 2015 Fusion - was extremely impressed when I drove it. This has helped me as everything you brought up was pretty inconsequential for a long time owner = I think that was your point. And the fact you still love it says tons. I have to admit, these cars are a bit of a secret as when I started to look, the Fusion was not on my radar. It was only when I checked out some client sat surveys that it pops, and then driving one shows you how well they drive and are built. I'm coming from a Cadillac CTS = I found the Fusion extremely comfortable and very luxurious. And very sharp looking too. Thanks for the review. And make a point of not saying the statement shared by others below :-) = meant only as a kind correction.

The only thing about the 2020 Fusion that we’re not crazy about is the new gear shift that Ford came out with. Instead of a stick to shift the gears of the automatic transmission, it’s a rotary dial, so in order to shift gears you need to turn the dial. It’s been a really difficult thing to get used to and truthfully we’re still not used to it. But that’s the only negative about the car overall.

I have a 2017 Titanium with the redesigned 19” wheels. I had a 2014 that looked exactly like yours as well before it was flooded in Harvey. Both cars came with those same continental tires. They had very good traction, but with those continentals, the mileage varies. They can also be loud and and make a drone like sound as they wear down. My 2017 was able to get 50k out of those tires and I was just down to 4/32. Next time you get tires, try the new Bridgestone QuietTrack. They have an 80k warranty and they are 800 A A tires. The Continentals are 500 AA A, as well as the Michelin’s. The Yokohama YK 740 GTX tires are also a great contender. I do mostly highway miles which might make a
    slight difference in longevity though.

The Fusion likes touring tires like the Michelin Defender and Cooper Grand Touring tires. They last a lot longer than the sportier tires. In my opinion they seem to grip the road just as well too. Ive only had 3 sets in 200k miles. The factory tires, Michelin Defenders, and now the Cooper GT tires. So far I like the Coopers a lot better than the Michelins.
