Hi Scotty, you mentioned "burning oil". My 2015 Audi Q7 S-line burns approx. a quart of oil every six months. I get it serviced at the Audi dealership once a year. Every year I've owned it, I've needed to drop by half way through because the low oil light goes on and they need to top it off with a quart. One year, I needed to top it off twice after a couple trips to Yosemite. Otherwise, it's been a great car. Should I get rid of this Q7 sooner versus later?
@@ShawnDeLaCruz I have worked at a service center before, they don’t always put in the correct amount oil during oil changes. You are much better off changing the oil yourself. Find a friend or ask coworkers if they know someone…etc
I have a 2014 Fusion. 2.5. No turbo. With 166,000 miles. I guess I can expect well over 206,000 miles. Oil is changed with synthetic. When on the freeways here in jersey I set the cruise at 83. The weekend before Thanksgiving I was on my way to Tulsa Oklahoma. In Illinois on i70 doing 80 a Maserati went past me at 95. So I tucked in behind him at dropped the hammer even further. Roughly 95 for almost 100 miles. The Fusion never missed a lick
What a stroke of genius ford pulled by discontinuing cars in favor of bloated crossovers, trucks, and suv's, just giving away three entire segments of the market just before gas prices skyrocket making those segments the most appealing.
Hey Scotty, I have 2012 4cyl 2.5 fusion se. 200800 miles. Only 1 major repair at 175k, the electric steering. I'm 62 now and I absolutely love the car drives and handles amazing. Great power and reliability!
Had a 2010 ford fusion loved that car should of kept it,the closest I've come to it is a 2020 toyota corolla le it handles just as good but the power doesn't kick in til after 30mph with the cvt transmission they both get around the same mpg
@@captinbeyond Ford went from selling over 300,000 Fusions in the USA to just 100,000. That's why it and the other cars were dropped. People mostly want trucks, crossovers & SUVs.
They are nice till the water pump goes out. You have to lift the stupid car to change it out. What a dumb design. Also why in the world would you put a power sterring motor instead of a pump. Ford is so dumb.
I have an 04 mercury grand marquis with 223 thousand miles original motor and tyranny still running great my dad's buddy has over 400 thousand miles his is still running I would say ford screwed up
@@louisvilaros9066 I drove police package Crown Vics from 1985 MY through 2004 MY. They were great. One 1994 model I had, that was totalled in a wreck, got 22-26 MPG no matter how I drove it, the 22 was when long idling times. Comfort, space, agility, all gone now.
The Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis where Assembled in Canada, and the Lincoln Town Car was made in Wixom, Michigan until Ford decided to close the Wixom plant in 2007 and in 2008 the Lincoln Town Car ended up being Assembled in Canada it has the same engine built in Michigan but the final assembly took place in Canada. Just like the Town Car from Lincoln Ford Wixom built the Town Car with the engine and transmission made in the USA and then the send the parts to the St. Thomas facility in Ontario, Canada and assembled the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Mercury Marauder, then after the Wixom plant closed the remaining parts for the Lincoln Town Car where sent to the St.Thomas Facility for final assembly and the St.Thomas Facility closed in 2011 that is suppose to be closing the Flatrock plant to shift production of the Ford Mustang to Canada to produce a bunch of right hand drive Mustangs that is more suitable for Japanese quality standards and also to keep the 6 in production in North America but in Canada instead of USA and for the Fusion and MKZ from Lincoln in production, as Ford decided to close it and the Mazda 6 ended up being produced in Japan. If it where for Ford to have better relations with Mazda then Ford will end up closing the Flatrock plant and then Ford ends up producing all of the Ford Mustangs in St. Thomas, Ontario Canada where most of the Ford Mustangs will be exported to Japan because it met Japan’s quality standards, the reason why Ford close the facility and get out of Japan and if Ford will be selling their cars in Japan then all the Ford Mustang cars are going to be built in St.Thomas Ontario, Canada instead of Flatrock, Michigan.
Ford Fusion was among the top 3 mid size sedans even in 2017. It’s not like they couldn’t sell sedans, Scotty! Fusion were developed when Ford had Volvo with them. It was stupid decision to stop selling them.
I would have bought a fusion but when shopping around for a second car With better gas mileage than my 2016 f150 i found it was cheaper now to preorder new and wait 6 weeks than buy used so ended up buying a hyundai elantra n line since ford cut the fusion and I wont buy GM after the 09 malibu that was in reduced engine power every couple weeks.
@Jonathan A you mean platform, these are uni-body vehicles. What I meant was these cars were developed when Ford owned Volvo, and the quality of Ford products was pretty good!
In the hybrid the design is from Aston Martin (also belonged to Ford), the ICE engine is from Mazda and the EV part is licensed from Toyota... it is indeed a fusion.
@@kelseyrae331 The medium blue paint looks best on the MKZ. The Saturn is the most sought after car. There's about 18 great cars that are long lasting. Just saw a MKC. Didn't know they made one. 2010 Mustang is one of Fords all time best engine and transmission. With the MKZ you get a lot for your money.
I love my 2020 Fusion Titanium. It is a fantastic drive and here in Michigan the adaptable AWD is great for winter. I’m a light foot driver and get 25 mpg city and 30 highway. Don’t know why Ford stopped making them. It is a good looking car and people I know would love to have one.
The only people to get offended by other races are American white people it's weird I don't get it they take anything as offensive they don't see as a joke weirdos
Car I have had for the past year is a 2017 Fusion with the 2.5 NA 4 cylinder, currently has 73k on it. Absolutely love these cars and my 2.5 is running like a champ. They are way better with the Sync 3 system (Mine has it), it's tons more responsive and easier to navigate. Sucks that Ford discontinued these, I don't care for SUV's!
I agree with what scotty says "engines will last if you take care of them". I always get made fun of for owning a 5.4. It had the timing chain cam phaser problem when I got it but ever since it was fixed it hasn't given me any problems and it has 243k on it. It's because it is taken care of. These people who beat the piss out of something or don't do maintenance in my opinion have no right to call something junk or unreliable. My grandpa has 2 Ford Fusions one is a 2013 and one is a 2018 and they are both hybrids and in pretty good shape. He doesn't drive anymore but he never had a problem with either of them.
I just bought an 07 solstice gxp and i INTEND to beat the crap out of it, because i've babied cars all my life and it is time to actually DRIVE something like it is meant to be driven! Don't think i won't put in the proper maintenance though, i intend to replace at least some of the components myself (i.e. gaskets, window regulators, etc. ) but i fully intend to enjoy this "sports" car to it's limits.
The funny thing is the fusion actually sold pretty good it was the one car I thought ford should have kept I mean even crappy Chevy is keeping one sedan
@@CanadaaVlogs make sure you keep up on the oil changes and tune ups and your 2.5 will last well over 200k miles , mine is at 172k and still running perfect!!!!
I bought a 2008 Fusion SEL V6 for my girl. Sold it with 197000 miles ran great. 1 year before I sold it I changed fuel pump the only work I ever did to it. Man that car had smooth ride I got her a 2012 Accord EX-L 4 cylinder 85000 miles.
You could get an absolute steal on these 2019 and 2020 new depending where you bought it. 6k off msrp easily for the SE trim which was usually around 25k, free oil changes every 5k at the dealer, lifetime powertrain warranty. A lot of car for the $.
I got a 2019 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid for $17k before tax in mid 2020 in WA. Now the market is $20-23k. It’s been great and very smooth, but was just rear ended. Hope their insurance fixes it rather than totals.
I just traded my 2016 Fusion in on a 2022 Toyota Corolla Hatchback XSE with 6 speed manual. The Fusion ran great but I wanted better gas mileage and a manual trans. The Fusion 2.0 turbo engine was made in Germany.
no,, the 2 liter was made in Cleveland or Valenica spain... the sticker on the valve cover will tell you that vep for the spanish engine) the beter of the 2 liter engines
I had one of these until yesterday. Got it when it had 30k miles and drove it until 99k. Never had a single problem with it, even after driving from North Dakota to Texas and back several times. I loved that car. But a Toyota dealership offered me 12k for it and had a hybrid Corolla on the lot. I saw the writing on the wall and traded it. The Corolla will pay for itself in less than ten years if gas prices keep blasting off for the moon.
Was very tempted to buy either a Honda Accord Hybrid or Ford Fusion Hybrid - my pick was the Ford Fusion Hybrid, but the first thing I would have done would be to pull off the "energy saving" tires - they suck - and save almost no energy anyway. Decided to have the engine rebuilt on my beloved 99 Ford Mustang six at 200,000 miles -
Scotty is always preaching Toyota and Honda reliability. I don’t argue their engines reliability. But I just drove my buddie’s Toyota and it was the cheapest vehicle I have ever ridden in with exception to a dodge neon. I’ve seen Chevy cavaliers with 200k(after head gasket replacement) hold up better than his RAV4 which only had 90k. It left me questioning a lot of what Scotty says. He should focus a lot more on vehicles’ comfort, performance, capability, quality. There’s a lot more to a vehicle than how long the engine lasts. Many more parts besides the engine and transmission which wear out. I asked my buddy, why does his dash, hatch, and every door panel vibrate loudly over every little bump? He said, “it’s cheap.” The price tag isn’t!
I HAVE A 2012 FORD FUSION SE 2.5L ENGINE WITH 200,000+ MILES. NO TURBO, CHANGED TRANS OIL FOR THE FIRST TIME AND STILL CLEAN. 30-33+ MPG. CHANGE OIL RELIGIOUSLY EVERY 5,000 MILES. BOUGHT BRAND NEW. BULLET PROOF ENGINE. STILL DRIVING AND LIVE IN THE SOUTH, NO RUST. FINIS PAX
Great video Scotty!! I've been really happy with my 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium w/ 135k miles. I did have the transmission and PTU replaced under warranty around 80k miles. Very reliable vehicle that handles excellent.
Very odd how they all look exactly and I mean EXACTLY the same; carbon copies; rear window slanted forward... Ya got the 'crossover' style and the 'toaster" style Juke, Freestyle, etc. and that's it. Even the Explorer, and others have the exaggerated, forward slant rear window...
For me, Crossover is any car (especially hatchback and station wagon) that has been jacked up from factory without much body alteration like most (crossover) SUVs.
If you drive the 2.0 it's good. Once the miles get high you have to get the turbo cleaned out or replaced if necessary. Also get a tune up, replace the low and high fuel pressure sensors use lucas fuel treatment and blend oil with premium gas.
Scotty you gotta put that Fusion in Sport mode (S) (not D) for faster acceleration/better performance. D is standard economy driving for better mpg. I own an excellent condition 2015 Fusion Titanium 2.0 Ecoboost FWD w/ only just over 47k miles. Mines stock besides having a K&N cold air intake installed; giving the car a very nice turbo spool sound and small noticeable bump in power +10 Hp and 9 lb TQ. I really like the Fusion 2.0 Ecoboost after having owned it for over 4 yrs. Its VERY comfortable and spacious, well equipped (Titanium trim), decent power and handling, great looking, overall awesome, and hasn't gave me any trouble. Btw-If you drive the 2.0 Ecoboost FWD with slow acceleration (lightfoot) you will get 20-21mpg city and 30-31 mpg highway.
I own a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium 2.0l turbocharged fwd. 168,000mi. Original engine and transmission. Still doing me well. I enjoy it very much and am probably gonna keep it forever at this point.
Had a Fusion Energi until some girl ran a stop sign and took it out. Great car, didn't use any gas most days, and got 40 mpg when battery got used up; had overall MPG up over 68 when I lost it. Looked great and much nicer on the inside than other PHEVs.
I wanted an Energi model when I was looking. I was not expecting the battery to take up so much trunk space however. Even being single, I still need a trunk lol. It was unfortunately a deal breaker. Bought a 2019 regular hybrid instead. Still gets up to 60mpg in the city so I have been very happy with it.
I had a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL with the 2.5L. Very durable engine, but the transmission started to make a horrendous grinding noise when upshifting through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. It was a family hand me down and I was told not to flush/drain or change the transmission fluid. It had 123k miles before I totaled it last month, other person hit me while I had a green light. Insurance paid out $6,600 dollars, and the car was deemed totaled. I guess I got lucky because I didn't even need to buy a new transmission for it and it lasted that long with redish burnt trans fluid.
I changed my transmission fluid on my 2011 Honda Civic. It had 192,000 miles on it when I bought it. It shifts faster and smoother after the fluid change.
I just checked my 2015 fusion 2.5L and it has 409,578km or just shy of 254,500 miles. Still runs great. Just needs some front struts, front brakes (they're original!) and some wheel speed sensors. Doesn't burn oil, drives great. Great car.
I really like the Ford 3.0 and 3.5 l, the '09 Taurus is one of the fastest cars I've driven. Only reason I got rid of it is because you have to remove the timing chains just to change the water pump. That's something I just couldn't live with.
I have to admit I have a 2014 ford fusion Titanium 2.0 and I've had it for 5 years and it's by far the most enjoyable Sedan that I've ever had. It's gonna be tough for me to every move on from the fusion if and when I ever get to that point.
Bought my 2014 Fusion Titanium new, it now has 247,000 miles on it. I change the oil regularly. Yes the key fobs fall apart after a few years and have to be replaced. Also the paint on the rims started coming off pretty early. Of course the Ford dealership didn't cover the paint issue on the rims. But it still runs good.
We have a 2009 Ford Fusion 2.3 gas aspirated 4 cyl manual 180.000 miles. 5 speed manual. My wife loves this car. No rust great car. I changed oil every 5 k mobile one. Engine still quite and smooth literally has nothing go wrong but I do regular maintenance and it’s garaged. Paint still looks great. I bet we will have it 10 more years.
I have a 2013 eco boost at 90,000 in 2023 and have had it since 2020 and no problems at all. The turbo surprisingly sounds pretty good stock as well. Now I also own a 2020 Corolla le and it’s got 100,000 already and just runs like the first day I got it with 6miles on it. I can say with confidence Japanese engines are more resilient but all in all the fusion has been a great purchase
All the lawnmowers are made by 2 different factories and thats the only difference between them other than minor changes like front suspension or lack thereof...
I found one for $10k with 105k miles up here in Dallas. I’m really skeptical now about trans reliability after my last two cars had their trans blow out, and the price was more than the car was worth. This makes me feel a little more confident knowing that these can last over 200k on original trans and engine
Get it. I have a 2014 1.5 Fusion SE Ecoboost with 160k miles. I flushed transmission and coolant at 150k miles, no problems. Oil changes every 5-7k miles. Make sure you replace spark plugs and coil packs too. My car has been paid off for 4 years. New cars are over priced.
Factory cars with turbos on them get a bad rap from guys like this. All three of my vehicles are boosted, two turbos, and one SC. If you take care of them, and don't drive them like you stole them, they will last just as long as an NA car. Scotty, I know you have a lot of subscribers, but some of your claims are mere opinion, not based on fact. Everyone can get a lemon, but that doesn't mean they are all bad. I have owned all three American brands, and nothing beats Ford for longevity and reliability.
I absolutely LOVE my 2.0 EcoBoost 2013 Ford Fusion titanium.. only front wheel drive, but drives like a dream and fuel mileage is excellent. These fusions where great because they have the 6f35 transmission which is actually a GM Ford partnership transmission..so one less thing to worry about as Ford on their own can't build a decent transmission usually. 176k on my 2.0 EcoBoost and no real turbo lag, and still excellent fuel mileage
@@damienamado Well now have 224k on my Fusion titanium 2.0 EcoBoost... 19-21 city and 30ish highway. Though on flat land in Florida when we went for thanksgiving in 2022 and 2023 we had 33mpg highway
@@TheRandy3D that’s awesome you still have it. I was thinking about getting an ecoboost fusion soon but was nervous because it’s a ford. After doing a lot of research and several people have proven the car can last 200k miles if taken care of, I think this car is a real contender for me.
I GOT 2016 FORD FUSION SE WITH 250,000 MILES ALREADY. AND STILL RUNS LIKE BRAND NEW. I USE IT FOR MY RIDESHARE JOB AND FOOD DELIVERY. I had a youtube channel using my Ford FUSION as my car for Doordash delivery..
Change the spark plus and I bet the hesitation goes away. I have the same car and 208k miles. If Ford still made the Fusion I would certainly buy another one.
The 2012-2014 -2016 has more transmission issues than all other fusion years combined I know people who have newer ones like 2017 and up and no issues just a battery but be careful with the years I listed even found many many law suits from all over the nation and many other repair websites and other sources agree don't get those years.
My wife has a 2014 Fusion. You need to regularly replace the key fob batteries with Good Quality batteries. If you get the cheap ones in bulk online, they won't last long and will be troublesome.
2020 Fusion se turbo with under 50k miles. No issues and loving it so far. Not looking forward to repairs with it cramped but it seems manageable. All the Ford's I've owned lasted at least 500k miles with original motor/tranny.
Great video as always Scotty, always a good watch being very informative as well. We have this car in the UK/Europe its called the Ford Mondeo, nice enough run of the mill family saloon vehicle as we call it. With basic to higher end sports models. Think it's still being made, but don't quote me on that... Great vids, keep um coming...
fusion is a great car..i have a 14 se . with lux package and 234/45/18 tires with the better vep engine..186000 miles.. still gets 34/36 on the highway in cruise.. and times in 0-60 in the high 5 sec range.. installed a adjustable coil over on the car.. and found setting 6 on the dampeners to ne almost perfect... got the sway bars from a killed 15 fusion energy... why send steeda 600$ for the same size bars.. local pick and pull 45$ (got lucky on that one )
I’d just like to say, I own a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport and the gas mileage is actually pretty great for what the vehicle is. I’m getting 30mpg on the highway. Not many SUVs and trucks are getting that.
The ford fusion is more or less a mazda 6...The combo makes for a decent car. I had a 2008 fusion with 194k just regular maintenance up until 2020, after that i bought a fully loaded 2012 fusion black on black leather sel with the screen the heated and cooled seats and moon and tune package and i havent had an issue with it. When i bought it it had 42k miles on it now around 65k. I run fully synthetic and have replaced the brakes all around with brembo ceramic pads and vented discs. It has the sport 18 inch wheels wrapped in kumho ecstas, handles great. I love the car..I feel like the 2010-2012 looked the best.
Two months ago a friend and I swapped a 2014 Fusion 2.5L engine (~60k miles) into my 2008 Mazda3 2.3L (~220k miles) because it started getting rod knock. Definitely worth it
There is a place for cars. I don't understand the obsession with SUV's. Cars get way better mileage and are cheaper to repair generally. Most of these SUV's aren't that much bigger than cars anyways, they just ride higher.
I thought I had a reason to get an SUV, and that is because I can store a bicycle or two inside with the seats down, while not having to worry about those bike racks that go on the tow hitch. I don't regret it but wish I would have gotten myself a truck for it
Anywhere it snows half the year is why they sell well. Ground clearance is needed in deeper stuff. Taller storage is also a reason. I have a 4dr sedan too and love it…way better to drive all around and big trunk…but when it snows hard, I could be stuck a day I can’t miss work. Plows don’t consider people working in the morning and skip side streets in bad storms. Nothing really beats a truck bed for utility and clearances.
@@bjornironsides6474 I have a truck with 4 wheel drive. If I was to get an SUV it would be a real SUV, body on frame, real 4x4, not those little tiny things. A lot of those things are just marginally higher than a car, but are basically the same size. Full size sedans, that automakers decided to stop making for some reason, have more room than these compact SUVs.
I have owned several Jeep models over several years. I have owned a 4x4 for the past 23 yrs because of were I live. I live in the Missouri Ozarks and my home is at the bottom of two large hills. They do not maintain our roads during the winter. It is gravel and I live between two low water bridges. When it rains it floods bad. The ground clearance of my 2007 Jeep JK Unlimited has aloud me to get out during high water . I can make it out on the smaller bridge if I can visually see the concrete . I have also made it out even when the hills are iced over. These hills are very steep. I like what you said about maintaining your vehicles. Jeeps get a bad rap but my JKU turned 300,000 miles before the engine quit. The transmission lasted until 276,000 original miles before I had it replaced. I use my jeep hard. I tow two rick of oak fire wood behind it, take it off road camping and kayaking. I have also driven it from Mo to N.M. at least twice a year for 12 yrs 1000 miles each way. My catalytic converters failed causing engine failure. I will be putting another motor in it soon. I did buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek with 5 speed manual transmission in it . I love the fuel economy and the all wheel drive gets me most of the places I went in my jeep. I do however miss the ground clearance of my JKU. I also miss the capability of being able to tow my trailer to pick up firewood, lumber, my sailboat or even my kayak trailer. I actually had to call in late to work because of flooding. This was the first time I ever had to call in for flooding in 22 yrs of working at the same place. If I had my Jeep back up I would have made it out safely . I say all this to back up what you said earlier. I maintain my vehicles so they last me allot of miles. My previous jeep was a 1998 jeep Cherokee and it had 278,000 miles on it before a young lady hit my wife head on. They totaled the jeep after that. I also drive 23 miles one way to work everyday. I live in the country so it's very important to me to maintain my vehicles. I bought my house with 14.5 acres for $55,000 another reason I live were I do. Love your videos Scotty keep them coming.
My wife had a 2011 fusion non turbo. It was a great car. Traded it in at 200k and the only problem I ever had was the throttle body had to be replaced. Cost me $45 and 10 minutes. I’ve driven nothing but fords since 1999. Had a 99 escort, then a 2011 focus. Both lasted 200k with no problems. Traded my focus in for a new ranger last year. I’ll stick with ford until they let me down. Love the ranger too
That's because you went from good car to good car in regards to the model and the year of each of your vehicles. You somehow missed all the pieces of junk they make (the rest of them).
Also because you've only gone to 200k. You should get an Acura or Lexus-- ride in luxury and get 350k miles out of it.. I've always driven Ford Trucks. I had a 95 F150 5spd 4x4; that I drove until 320k miles and it finally spun a bearing and engine was knocking very hard.. I still sold it for $800 with a blown engine. lol.. For the past 8 or 9 years I've driven a 2002 F350 7.3L Diesel 6spd manual, 4x4. Now has over 330k miles and is still a freight train; starts right up and will tow anything I want up the side of a mountain without even trying hard.. So I bought both of these trucks at 150k miles and more than doubled the mileage on them. 95 costed me $4k.. The 7.3L Diesel costed me $7500. Probably 18 years combined driving on the two of them... and this is why I will never buy new. I would gladly buy your throw away cars at 200k-- for a steal and drive it until 300k .lol..
In Europe this is called the Ford Mondeo. They were all made in Spain for European markets. We got a station wagon version here. Also, we still have Ford cars in Europe (the Focus and Fiesta).
Yep. Sadly the Mondeo/Fusion stopped being sold even here in Europe, and the new generation model is only sold in China (as the Mondeo) and in the Middle East (as the Taurus).
@@DroidTSK Correct. The new Mondeo is offered with a 240hp 2 litre Ecoboost 4cyl, and will do 0-100kmh in 6.5 seconds. But it’s very heavy weighing at 1976kg, which weighs 6kg less than a BMW M5 F90 (despite the Mondeo and the 5er being in two completely different segments).
Scotty's honesty is priceless, I agree the Fusions are quite durable cars, the truth is for the same things that Scotty mentions in the video I would not buy any Ford car with the ecoboost engines, because I'm one of those people who want a car that last as long as possible. I am about to purchase a 2019 Ford Fusion with the 2.5L engine, it is not the fastest, but it is the most durable of the entire production. I would like @Scotty to make a video talking about this particular engine. 2.5L I4.
The Fusion Hybrid is an amazing car, it's a Japanese car in disguise. Drives like a dream and cuts through wind in the highway, and I manage to get almost 52MPG driving conservatively in the city with premium gas (it performs better with 91 octane gas). It's also surprisingly capable in snow with winter tires (I live in northern Alberta and this thing never left me stranded). You can buy them cheap because people don't realize the mileage in a hybrid is not the same as the mileage in a pure ICE vehicle, I would guess you can consider at least 20% less mileage when it's a decent hybrid. I intend to drive this thing until it falls apart, I can't even fathom the idea of selling it.
Wife had an 08, poor car. It was a 4 cylinder N/A, that thing couldn’t get out of its own way, but it was fuel efficient. Traded in at 135k, had ac issues, check engine light, she blew serpentine belt and kept driving it, it over heated twice. After all that decent, it still ran. Gave her my 05 accord, she couldn’t have been happier leaving the fusion.
@Darrin R. So funny! I learned to drive on a ‘70 Chevy C-10 with the H-pattern shifter. We called it a “three on the tree” because it was a three-speed.
2018 Fusion Energi Titanium owner, specifically mother's car. Absolutely faultless with regular annual maintenance. The problems seem to be mostly with the Ecoboost models, but the hybrid versions are great. Lifetime average of 2.1L/100km on regular unleaded is also excellent.
Turbochargers are far better than I think Scotty makes them out to be. I've got a 2008 Mitsubish EVO 10 GSR and the OEM turbo made it to 250k kms. Even then only the bearings were starting to go, the rest of the turbocharger was OK. Regular maintenance, of course, is key - and in particular, oil changes should be done every 5k kms which is fairly frequent.
False, turbos are only good in diesel’s and fun to have in a sports car like what you have. But on regular suv, truck, sedans they are not worth it reliability wise.
I had a Ford Windstar, didn't make 90k miles, I wanted buy American, so I tried a Dodge Caravan - it was full of rattles, I turned it in a month after I brought it and have turned japanese ever since. I've had four Japanese cars all over 250k since.
Most, if not all Japanese motor vehicle manufacturers have "fused" with American car companies. As you undoubtedly know, many Japanese (in name only) vehicles are built in the United States these days. In addition, the components that are used to build all motor vehicles are sourced from all over the world. So, we're all driving "fusions" today.

Hey scotty! I’ll wait for the video! It happens. Good day to you!
The F150 is not going anywhere anytime soon. Hell there is no vehicle that comes close to the sales of the F150 lol.
Hey Scotty I gotta 2015 Ford fusion SE one of the best cars I have ever had!!!!!!
True but also they dont care because the Lightning and all the developments at Ford blue... all without a bailout. Imagine that
They care about the mustang and the truck line, primarily the f150 and that's it.
@@omardevonlittle3817 see so
Crossovers and trucks will still outsell sedans either way.

I have a 2017 Fusion with the 2.5. 31 mpg average over the 35,000 miles. No complaints.
2017 Fusion with the 2.5. 132,000 trouble free miles. 31 MPG lifetime avg.

I really love the Ford Fusion. It's a tragedy Ford doesn't make it anymore. The AC blows ICE COLD and it's pure pleasure to drive.
You can buy my 2020. I think thats the last year they made them.
AC works good till it doesn't, it can be finicky in these cars.
ICE COLD you say? Sounds like you're trying to sell me a Ford 😛
When they quit making Crown Victoria/Mercury Marquis it was the end of American sedans.

Tyranny 😂😂😂
I'm 8 months into owning a 2017 Fusion Sport and absolutely love it.
My 2014 fusion still runs great. Needs an O² sensor now but altogether I do not regret this purchase.
It’s one decent looking car you can get for a fair price now. And they have most of the features anyone would want.
A lady at my church have a 2017 Fusion SE and I used to drive it a lot and I love it, they are very smooth and responsive.

I got a 2019 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid for $17k before tax in mid 2020 in WA. Now the market is $20-23k. It’s been great and very smooth, but was just rear ended. Hope their insurance fixes it rather than totals.

My girlfriend had a freestyle when I met her. She thought she had an suv. I told her it was a wagon.
What exactly does it cross over
Very odd how they all look exactly and I mean EXACTLY the same; carbon copies; rear window slanted forward... Ya got the 'crossover' style and the 'toaster" style Juke, Freestyle, etc. and that's it. Even the Explorer, and others have the exaggerated, forward slant rear window...
But a wagon was simpler, not 4 wheel drive system, better gas mileage, smoother ride.

God bless you, Scotty Kilmer!!!
2020 Fusion se turbo with under 50k miles. No issues and loving it so far. Not looking forward to repairs with it cramped but it seems manageable. All the Ford's I've owned lasted at least 500k miles with original motor/tranny.
Mr. Scotty, he's the man, if he can't do it, nobody can. 💪🏼 Hi Scotty!!
I bought my 2011 fusion SE 4 cyl after scotty’s recommendation. Its good experience so far
What a shame sedans aren't really made by anyone buy high end luxury brands. I actually prefer them over SUVs
Some fusion are built in michigan. You have to check years.
That's amazing to me!
my '01 Mustang key fob still works great ... still the original battery
I totally agree with you Scotty maintenance is the key…
I once rented one of these Fusions and thought it was a roomy and peppy car.
I love my 2011 Ford Fusion it’s not that bad of a vehicle i love the physical key since I NEVER have to replace the Battery on my keys
That's good mileage for a old turbo but still prefer naturally aspirated engine
Yea, turbos don't last as long especially when combined with these newer direct injection engines. Crap city.
@Kyle Belair My two cars both with V6 engines are fun to drive and get good mileage especially the Accord, My Mazda CX-9 gets decent mileage.
@Kyle Belair if you drive aggressive with a turbo gas mileage can be worse
It’s mostly versatility for CUVs. From hauling the family around to laying the backseat down for cargo, pick nicks and tailgating.
I have a 2012 Volvo V60 that has that engine, love it!
Vep engine, Spanish built, same in my 14
My wife had a 2011 fusion non turbo.
@@MikeyBadabingBadaboom ~ So give us an example or 2 of problems right from the factory with some Fords. If there are so many then it should be easy.
@@MikeyBadabingBadaboom give his ranger 10 years he’ll find out
@@carsheaven bad paint and transmission issues. class action suit
200,000 miles of hard driving on my 2.0 Ecoboost until the transmission started to go. Great car
Change out the fuild,
In Europe this is called the Ford Mondeo.
I'm a 1963 model with high mileage and have plenty of turbo lag.
All you do is look on the first digit of the VIN number:
- 1 is United States
- 2 is Canada
- 3 is Mexico
I have the same 2014 in white. 132,000 and no problems. Awesome car. Too bad they stopped making them - mistake, as tastes will change again.
I had an awd 2016 fusion as a work car. Loved it. However it did go through tires about every 30000 miles
Interesting comment about the tires. My 2018 Ford Fusion hybrid has 40K miles on the tires. Still has half the tread on the original tires.
My first car was a Ford escort 1985. 2 door hatchback. It drove like this one. 😂😂😂
@Darrin R. What’s a 4 on the column?
@Darrin R. So funny! I learned to drive on a ‘70 Chevy C-10 with the H-pattern shifter. We called it a “three on the tree” because it was a three-speed.
I swear I saw a station wagon Volvo yesterday, and that joker looked real mean. It was real nice.
I heard the 2.5L are even better and way more reliable
The Ford Fusion engines are in the newer Ford Escapes. Just stay away from the 1.5L engines. Learned my lesson
@@jaymoar3561 my 150000+mi gas volvo with a BorgWarner turbo begs to differ
Bearings worn turbo worn!
I have 2015 Ford Fusion and 111,000 miles and never have a problem it and also get 50 mph
