    With brown rice it’s basically a health food and you can feel good about drinking several shots a day every day. Get your fiber, b vitamins, and so much more!

    I really like the peppermint rum Chatta that you can only get at Christmas. Would I just add peppermint oil maybe? And does it need to be stored in the refrigerator? And what is the shelflife? I really enjoy listening to you and trying your recipes. Thanks so much.

      @SavidgeKitchen  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, I would add 1/2 tsp of peppermint extract. It’s pretty potent stuff, so start small, and then if it’s not enough maybe bump up to a whole tsp, and so on. I think you might also want to add a touch more sugar to balance out the other flavors if you’re going to add peppermint. So maybe 3/4 a cup, rather than half. Let me know how it goes!!

    I am a bit surprised the brown rice wasn't that much different... Great experiment! Love your sweatshirt! You are braver than I am... I wear it in the kitchen and I know I'm going to fuck up, so I take it off constantly to not ruin it... Also, I'm not really a podcast person either... I listened to one during the pandemic, but now the only ones I follow are from people I know from youtube...

      I was surprised too!! I thought for sure it would taste different, but really wasn’t noticeable at all. Vino’s recipe is great- good at cocktails, good at life. 🙌🥃

    Why not use ground cinnamon if it's going in the blender?
    Also, I cannot wait to make this.

    Does it have to be stored in the fridge and what would the shelf life be

    • @SavidgeKitchen
      @SavidgeKitchen  Месяц назад +2

      Yes, store this in the fridge. Good for at least several weeks, but just smell it first. If it smells wrong, it is wrong. If it smells fine, you’re good :)

    What cinnamon did you end up using? I like Ceylon, it has a subtle lemon flavor. I heard that nutmeg is added to Rum chata.

    • @SavidgeKitchen
      @SavidgeKitchen  Месяц назад

      If I remember correctly, I think I used the Ceylon here. But I’ve done both, and both are wonderful! Cheers :)

      @SavidgeKitchen Thank you very much. I want to try it. Your recipe is great, thank you. I read that chufa nuts should be used, but they can be replaced with a mixture of almonds and Brazil nuts with water. Vanilla is not Bourbon, but Tahiti. I love Ceylon cinnamon. It is healthier and smells like flowers and fruits, but cassia has a warm smell of childhood and baking.

    I agree with you, you are not a monster and i was laughing at the nut milk bag right with you 😂. Serious question what is the approximate shelf life on this, about the same as store bought?

    Hi can you use dark rum

    • @daviddeane3163
      @daviddeane3163 10 месяцев назад

      You can use whatever spirit you want. It's your drink, make it how you think you might like it. Make it your own. Use rum, gin, vodka, bourbon, whiskey.....experiment. Search for other recipies, you can't imagine how many drinks you cab make at home.

    • @SavidgeKitchen
      @SavidgeKitchen  10 месяцев назад

      You can absolutely use dark rum :) Use something you enjoy and/or have on hand, and adjust from there!! Cheers 🥃

    Using rice is called rice water nothing to do with horchata

    • @smokinwoodz
      @smokinwoodz 12 дней назад

      perhaps the drink is named such not because it has horchata, but rather because it tastes like horchata due to the addition of rice water, im not sure 🤔
