You should definitely find the root of the problem instead of fighting the symptoms. Find the home of the black crazy ants and remove it AND/OR find the entrance to your room and close it. Everything else is like fighting waves at the beach.
I think your best option would be to track the location of the trail of the ants and would have to block off that trail of where they are coming from, or attempt and kill the queen(s) . I don't think there's any other options, killing all the ants would be unnecessary, so you'd likely have to kill their queen(s) or block off their trail. If you're alright with the ants in your room, then just add extra protection to your ant farms such as an extra barrier. #AntLoveForever
I suspect the Black Crazy Ants like the humidity around the base of the Vampire Ant enclosure, you might have a situation where they are trying to move into the moisture space, like you had happen before. Honestly I think you need to be aggressive with protecting the ant room, especially against invasive species. If you can find where they are entering, you should try and caulk seal it up, or use stuff like diatomaceous earth as defensive barriers. This is important in not only protecting your ants and termites, but also you other pets. I hope you also checked the termites and that they are doing well, it has been a while since we've had an update.
Not gonna lie, this is a perfect excuse to make an "all my ants update", also antscanada, when will you create an antroom tour? The black crazy ants, yellow crazy ants, the carpenter ants, and the weaver ants? Please let me know 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜
He's done tour already. However, I'm an advocate of him either having another channel or doing another upload in the middle of the week like on Wednesday. Because showcasing one ant farm per week when he has several of them means we're not getting any updates on lots of other ants.
My understanding is that some of those colonies have left the ant room. The weavers were slaughtered by an invasion from another species of ant. It was probably what Mikey feared was going to happen to his Crimson Knights at the mandibles of the black crazy ants. The two carpenter ant colonies were released into the wild to shore up Team Native Ants. Don't know of the other colonies.
Also can Mikey please say SOMETHING about the termite colonies‼️ Even if its just showing them for 10 seconds or just telling us which ones _if any_ are still alive ‼️
@@EmpressOfExile206 see I think he needs another channel for things like termites. Or an additional day to focus on things other than the ants. Because now when he does an update on the termites we'll be missing out on the ants. One day per week is not enough.
Black crazy ants raiding your ant room must be one of the worst things a ant keeper experiences Edit : Speaking of black crazy ants , a swarm of them raided my feeders today.
When the fire ants get a massive set up I would love for it to be Volcano themed! Like with a massive Volcano in the center of the terrarium and a possible name for it could be “The Den of Ashes” but that’s just a suggestion I’m open to people coming up with better names in the comments. Love your content AC and your dedication!
I think you should place the crimson knights in a AC ant tower and as you showed in a video a while back I suggest you use the diatomaceous chalk at the point where the ants at the point where they have broken into your home, I know it sounds simple but it could work and you would be helping your native ants in your backyard. Hope this helped :D
If he still can't find the entry point of the invasive ants, I had success locating it in our kitchen at home by putting cinnamon around all the walls. It doesn't stop them for long, but it does create enough disruption so that for a few hours it can pretty clear where they are coming in from (by where there is a large group of confused ants try to cross the cinnamon barrier) so you can use a much more targeted strategy to keep them out. Also I'd put more alcohol powder mixture on the top of the fire ants cage (both inside and outside), because if ants are finding ways in there's a good chance they'll find ways out.
I like this idea. To build upon it AntsCanada could put a border of diatomaceous earth around the Ant tanks. Then in the future any invasive ants that want to go into the tanks would have to cross the border and therefore die.
The solution is probably a combination of the strategies posted by others but I'll add these 2. 1) Completely clean all areas of the ant room and use a vinegar solution to erase pheremone trails of the ants... with emphasis on any areas they seem to be entering or gathering. 2) Make a small tank. Put in it the white sand the crazy ants were after... along with perhaps a water test tube. Place the tank away from the others. It will act as bait for the crazy ants still in the room after cleaning... and draw them away from your set ups. You can keep dumping it outside (far away) and putting it back until no more crazy ants go to it.
If you plan on houseing the Crimson Knights in a terrarium, I'd personally want it to be a castle-themed one, just to take a nod to the "Knights" in the colony's name.
You could try slippery barriers on the outside of all your ant setups, so that external ants cant get in if they get that far eg on outside of the stands. Or setting up “motes” around the legs of them? I know some species can cross water but not all can?
Personal suggestions would be: -There's some fluorescent powder they make for mice and rats, the idea is that it gets on the rodent's body and leaves a trail that you can see in a black light. I'm curious if this works for ants, too. You can find out where they're coming from. -Figure out how the crazy ants are getting out of your ant farms, and seal those off. Not much of a point in invading your ant colonies if they can't return. -Figure out how they're getting in, and then seal that off. My recommendation would be diatomic chalk.
In regards to the ants moving grains of sand, the only thing I can think of is that the crazy ants must either smell pheromones on the sand that they don't like or they think those particular grains of sand are garbage. We always see ants moving dead bodies and other trash to a "trash pile" somewhere near their home. Perhaps those particular grains of sand were moved away from the Fire ants home and it was part of the trash pile. And now that new invaders are in the home, they recognize the trash pile as a bad smell and are trying to get rid of it.
It would be best to move the Fire ants into an A.C ant tower, as you said they are still a small colony and they need protection and time to grow in size. When are large enough and you've found a solution to the crazy ants problem, they can then go back into fire Alley.
You may want to put floun or baby powder on the outside of your terrariums to keep invading ants out, and also check the bottom of that AC Ant Tower the dracula ants are in. It looked like the black crazy ants were getting under it and might be nesting in the humidity chamber. As for the fire ants, I'd suggest an ant tower or modified AC outworld for a temporary house.
Dang AntsCanada you're really great at protecting ant colonies. Plus, it's a good idea to move the fire ants soon bc I don't want them to die so early on.
I think it would be a better and safer option to put the fire ants in an AC Tower just to make sure they don't get attacked by any wild ants. They would be safe in there until they could become large enough to leave and then also possibly being able to scare off the other wild ants with their pheromones. Good luck on whatever you choose, keep up the amazing work
Maybe you could harvest that ant hill to spread around the room where they walk in. Basically an opposite pheromone circle, where they flee when they smell it, instead of following it to the death. Additionally, I would ask some scientists if they want/can extract/synthesis that pheromone for an ant friendly countermeasure instead of toxins.

I suggest using petroleum jelly around the terrarium!!! I also keep ants and i live in South America where Pharaoh Ants are everywhere and they're just like Black Crazy ants except much much smaller, they're also known as Ghost Ants. They are so small they make nests any and everywhere and they are capable of climbing any surface. I have been utterly incapable of getting rid of them as they like to invade not only my ants but also my setup for meal worms, heck they even annoy me at my own desk. The only way I've managed to control them is by using petroleum jelly, I use it as a barrier to keep them away, it also keeps away any other potential insect and it lasts really long (I've only had to retouch some parts every couple of months or longer, specially if you aren't constantly touching the terrariums. Its also really cheap, non-toxic and easy to apply, just use a cotton swap and boom! The only draw back is that it isn't completely invisible and dust can get suck on it, but it does look better than rubbing alcohol and baby powder. So for me it's been the go to for both preventing invasions and escapees. It worked out soooo good that I applied a PG barrier all around my window and now the ghost ants (from outside) can't get to me. I still have the problem of them coming in through the balcony and under the door tho XD.
That pheromone plan was so smart, incredible job antscanada. I do agree it probably won't last forever so just growing the colony to the point they can't be attacked is probably your best option. Great video ant love forever
I’d say that you should move the Black nights into an ac tower, but before that to save them you could try wiping off the baby powder and rubbing alcohol rom the inside of the terrarium, and put it on the outside so that when they go out with the sand, they can’t get back in. Hope this helps!!❤
I'm so happy about the Marauders' nest! It's really lovely and looks like a textbook picture of an ant nest. It's super fascinating that you can use dirt from the ant hill as an invisible biological fence. Although obviously that's how they work in the outside world too. I feel like Mikey uploaded a video about starting a new fire ant colony fairly recently and he mentioned how the ants are invaders & quite a menace to the local ants. Well well well, fire ants, how the tables have turned.
Hi Mikey! You are so brilliant! To figure out that the invaders were avoiding the larger, more established colonies and how to use that knowledge to your advantage! So smart! And yes I think the beloved fire ants need to be put in an AC tower to keep them safe temporarily. Thank goodness you have this option. Have you considered capturing the Black Crazy Ants 🐜 to start a colony in the ant room? I know they are a dangerous species but so are Fire Ants. I can’t wait to see what you do! Ant 🐜 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🥰 love forever! Fran
I absolutely love this channel and the stories that you tell. It’s one of the first things I do on Saturday. I think putting the crimson knights inside of a AC ant Tower would be a great idea because earlier in the video, you stated that they are very hard for crazy ants to get into so maybe it would be a suitable home where they can be protected.
One big immediate problem I see with what you did is that you probably made the tank unusable for the Crimson Knights, too. Since the pheromones of the Leviathans managed to intimidate the Black Crazy Ants the young and vulnerable Crimson Knights would probably also be too intimidated to leave the nest while the pheromones are around
@@TheDJdragonflame Unless he puts diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of the ant room, and around each habitat…as well as anywhere the crazy ants were seen (other than inside fire alley.🖤🇨🇦

I cought a carpenter ant queen under a plant and there is already 3 cacoons so if you can help me because i have no idea what to do when she gets it’s first worker??
You shouldn’t need to do much! After she has about 15-20 workers maybe give them a roach leg os some honey! I don’t own ants myself so do your research
I know this is an old episode, I'm catching up on your videos... But I have a 3/4 inch long carpenter ant that I named Ms. Brutus.. and I have invasive ants invading my house.. So what I did to prevent them from invading my carpenter ant queen was I put polyurethane on the outside edges of my fish tank as well as the inside meaning, nothing can crawl in or out... This has saved my young ant colony.. I'm actually taking a page out of your book, raising a colony, then releasing them to the wild to combat the invasive ant species in hopes they go away.. it's been working around my neighborhood. I'm just happy I don't have to deal with fire ants. I sometimes see what look like Pharoah ants climbing up, then slipping down.. I reapply months just for added security When my colony gets bigger, I'll post videos and tag you! She will produce huge majors too!
As you always say its ant love forever, should this not extend to this new industrious black crazy ant family that CLEARLY wants to be a part of our ever growing antiverse? cant foe become friend? I understand measures had to be taken to protect our fire ants. Now that they're safe shouldn't this colony who i for now am personally calling black beards raiders on account of their wanton piracy of fire alley be given a chance to earn their place in our hearts and your ant room? i am already rooting for these little gals because i sense their survivalist spirit in the face of overwhelming odds. PARLEY i must formally petition that if in fact it is ant love forever, these girls be given a fair shake.
12:39 That was incredibly creative of you and I never knew something like that would actually affect wild ant colonies and scare them away. In my experience I only noticed that my enemy pharoah ants only ran away when my fire ant colony temporarily escaped and built trails around my table.
AntsCanada, maybe if you make it so there is a slippery surface outside of the container, so the black crazy ants will slip off the glass, and then you could track them back to their nest and catch the queen. I am worried for those other ants...
They are, and they are just as aggressive and can get massive as the black crazy ants. However, the crimson knights are too small in numbers to fight the black crazy ants right now I guess.
Yes, they are from South America and he is in Asia. Fire Ants have a single queen though so when you contain or kill her you reduce the environmental impact they have.
I believe they're one of AC's favourite species to keep, so he just makes sure they'll be unable to escape into the wild (despite the narrative of the last episode).
I agree with putting the Crimson Knights in and AC Ant Tower. It would be safer until the Black Crazy Ants (BCA's) go away. If they are persistant, keep them in their until they are the formiddible force seen in the Amazon. (Not really, but until they can defend themselves without huge losses.)
Just wanted to say I find your videos interesting and informative. I got up to go do something for a couple of minutes and when I came back I was blown away that my 4 year old granddaughter was no longer paying attention to the cartoons she had been watching in the same room and was zeroed right in with her nose about 6 inches away from the screen of my phone watching one of your ant videos. That was about 24 hours ago and she has since talked me out of my phone enough times that this I think is the fourth ant video she has watched in the last 24 hours. Great stuff. As fellow Canadians a big hello from home.
Yea, I suggest moving them out now. It's only temporary and as you stated & demonstrated in the past: fire ants are very adaptable to environment changes. The best part is they're already contained. Plus, if you use a small enough tower - and depending on the style of their next permanent tank - you can just dump the tower soil & tube on top again & they'll vacate without you getting bit/stung.
If you're under Ant Siege, you first w(ant) to track where the little dudes are coming from. Specifically, where they're entering your house from. That should be as simple as dropping a food source for them to find, and then following their scavengers to their entrances. Once you've found your front line, spread baking soda across it. They will Not want to cross your line, and you can repeat as necessary until all entrances are sealed off. For dealing with the colony long term, you need to track down where it is and then find a means of flooding or casting it. A hot water/vinegar/soap mixture will do pretty well. Or if you're extra you can melt some aluminum and pour that in instead. If you don't want to take out the colony itself, you can set up traps of honey, water, and baking soda in a container. You can also use vinegar in any form, dribbled directly or with a spray bottle. I know that you of all people would probably not want to chemical warfare a bunch of ants, but I'd say that A, the overall ant population in the area will be fine and B, you need to protect your own ants.
U should get them out your nest by lemon juice mixed with water and flood the nest this wont kill them and then u can take the queen to slow down population or wipe them out natrually

Crazy Cop ants?
@@rainulan7809 you funny goose. Or duck?
12:50 the way he said medium made laugh so hard
The power of pheromones/ scent is super amazing! Crazy how something we can’t even smell has such a huge impact on insects
Why does it sounds like a Hollywood movie scene ... In which one ant is attacked by another species and pheremones of third species scared them away 😭
That pheromone plan was so smart, incredible job antscanada. I do agree it probably won't last forever so just growing the colony to the point they can't be attacked is probably your best option. Great video ant love forever
Use that mixture to deter the crazy ants from your ants
I’d say that you should move the Black nights into an ac tower, but before that to save them you could try wiping off the baby powder and rubbing alcohol rom the inside of the terrarium, and put it on the outside so that when they go out with the sand, they can’t get back in. Hope this helps!!❤
the only thing I can think of is using ant poison, the kind they share with the queen
Were you able to remove the ants from your house? Where did they come in from?
Fran
I could be wrong, but I think that's the queen walking from right to left at 10:14, right before you said you really want to see the queen 🤣
Yes I saw her to, I’m pretty sure that’s her
@@CJRedford-z9e it's a shame he missed her, good to know she's doing alright though!
I absolutely love this channel and the stories that you tell. It’s one of the first things I do on Saturday. I think putting the crimson knights inside of a AC ant Tower would be a great idea because earlier in the video, you stated that they are very hard for crazy ants to get into so maybe it would be a suitable home where they can be protected.
something that would be cool is if a wild asian marauder ant colony had interfered with the black crazy ants while they were heading to the ant room.
The pheromones will fade and dissipate in a relatively short time.🖤🇨🇦
@@tamarrajames3590 At which point the crazy ants will also probably return
@@TheDJdragonflame Unless he puts diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of the ant room, and around each habitat…as well as anywhere the crazy ants were seen (other than inside fire alley.🖤🇨🇦
@@tamarrajames3590 He doesn't like using diatomaceous earth on ants, he considers it cruel. This came up when he had previous invasion problems in the old ant room as well as the Antopia war episodes
@@TheDJdragonflame Well, then he will need to use a repellant that will keep them away without discomforting his colonies. He DID pour boiling water into a fire ant nest on his property, which doesn’t sound like a walk in the park. It is an issue he will have to solve at some point.🖤🇨🇦
That’s a really effective ant repellent 👍

Timmy: hey jarry lets get outa here i smell somfin iffy
Jarry: but i want the rock real quick
Timmy: ur gonna get us killed
Can you do a tutorial on yellow meadow ants?
How did the crazy ants enter the various aquariums, when the other ants could not even escape?
WOW! Hooray for science! Your ingenuity and using your smarts of ant science is always so impressive. Good job on saving your fire ants!
You should close the top of the terrarium and add a openable opening
I cought a carpenter ant queen under a plant and there is already 3 cacoons so if you can help me because i have no idea what to do when she gets it’s first worker??
You shouldn’t need to do much! After she has about 15-20 workers maybe give them a roach leg os some honey! I don’t own ants myself so do your research
Ok thank you for the information
I reapply months just for added security
When my colony gets bigger, I'll post videos and tag you! She will produce huge majors too!
I love your videos antcanda can't wait for a new vid also keep going amazing video I hope the ants recover
This must be a terrifying experience
Years ago the black crazy ants took out a huge colonie they are better to remove if possible
love the leviathans building the tower of babel to ascend to heaven
Love ur vids! and Good luck with the black crazy ants!
How are the black crazy ants getting past the alcohol/baby powder barriers that keep the fire ants in?
OO was that the queen at 8.18 O no it was a super major
They're so huge, right?!
10:16 she was walking past. Omg she is huge
12:39 That was incredibly creative of you and I never knew something like that would actually affect wild ant colonies and scare them away. In my experience I only noticed that my enemy pharoah ants only ran away when my fire ant colony temporarily escaped and built trails around my table.
Ants canada Oh no! I hope you get them out!!! Keep bringing out great content like this
Btw to you all i was 1st
Nice bro
@Krisa_Fox I was the first one to view the video but not the first to comment
I never thought I'd get so invested in ant politics and their real deity
*OH THE NOOOOOOOES!!!!*
Best of luck to you with these beasts!
AntsCanada, maybe if you make it so there is a slippery surface outside of the container, so the black crazy ants will slip off the glass, and then you could track them back to their nest and catch the queen. I am worried for those other ants...
Aren’t the tropical fire ants invasive too?
They are, and they are just as aggressive and can get massive as the black crazy ants. However, the crimson knights are too small in numbers to fight the black crazy ants right now I guess.
Yes, they are from South America and he is in Asia. Fire Ants have a single queen though so when you contain or kill her you reduce the environmental impact they have.
I believe they're one of AC's favourite species to keep, so he just makes sure they'll be unable to escape into the wild (despite the narrative of the last episode).
bruh isn't your antroom protected with a password and fingerprint scan, how tf did the ants break in?
Vents? Hole under door? Small crack in wall or window?
How did ants get on cargo ships to get to other continents?
The fact that that worked was pretty f****** awesome
Love jour vids
You should have the entire perimeter of your house and esp the ant room outlined in diatomaceous earth on a regular basis

Good job my man
I agree with putting the Crimson Knights in and AC Ant Tower. It would be safer until the Black Crazy Ants (BCA's) go away. If they are persistant, keep them in their until they are the formiddible force seen in the Amazon. (Not really, but until they can defend themselves without huge losses.)
first
This might be a silly question, but how were the crazy ants getting out of fire Alley? Isn't there a barrier?
9:54 i cant hold my laugh when you said yey! But congrats for the super major
It's nice each ant species having thier own kingdoms and have thier own lores. You're the best Ant keeper!
Keep it up 👍🏻
Love this channel, thanks for all you do 👏
You should leave the fire ants where they are and give them a froach and they might get a bigger colony
A castle would fit a crimson knoghts theme because of the "knight"
I’m glad to be back on this side of RUclips I missed this channel and I hope your doing well
Just wanted to say I find your videos interesting and informative.
The fire ants in the blocked home smelling the smell of large colony outside must be terrified
The marauders nest was absolutely breathtaking
I admire your dedication to natural solutions to problems
This is a one of a kind video, truely amazing side view of a colony
U should get them out your nest by lemon juice mixed with water and flood the nest this wont kill them and then u can take the queen to slow down population or wipe them out natrually
incredible how well the soil from the other terrarium got rid of most of the black crazy ants but @13.30 there is one visible
