I’m thankful this game isn’t more well known, because I’m afraid imitators may try to replicate the game’s tone and instead devolve into “lol so random XD” type humor.

@@DrMedicsGameSurgery I saw the 4th game... I understand why everyone, even the creator himself, hate it so much. It's more a fanfic about Busby, forgot what's made Space Funeral so enjoyable.

Hmm, I have the opposite reaction to Lynch (Re: Semantic Satiation). The way his camera looks at things makes them seem startlingly meaningful, not meaningless. And that feeling often turns out to be validated upon reflection.

When i watch videos about this game, I notice i got a completely different message from the game. To me, the message is "its okay to try new things." New things, weird things, original takes on things. If you put effort into it, someone will enjoy it. As silly as the art and themes of this game are, the developer really did put a lot of effort into it and did virtually nothing to advertise it. But here we all are, talking about it and appreciating it. 13 years after it was made.

I must find myself a copy of ‘Lynch on Lynch’. I need something good to read and it sounds fascinating; right up my street.

Really well-made video and cool perspective of the game. I think it's really interesting to say this game goes beyond parody, like you said, the game in the end really plays the script of a tradicional RPG. It made me think.

So many deep words but a few things are just not truth. The game is way to easy. It not a "war to be fought" and the grinding? It's not long, you don't even need to grind. The game is way to easy and way too short so no the fights are all pretty short. Cool video tho

The great thing about games is the different experiences we can have with them. It's been a while since I played Space Funeral, but I can remember feeling like I needed to beef up my party in the snow area, and specifically the slow dawning that -- despite the game not being too serious about mechanics -- I would still have to slog through random encounters just like in any other RPG. Maybe I'd feel differently if I went back to it. Thanks for the comment!
