"I said I'd never die... but now I'm... dead inside!" The delivery on that line was the best delivery on any line ever delivered.
its one of my favorites
I think we can ALL say with confidence that you'll randomly say "AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!" to the tune for approximately the next 20 years ;)
Trey and Matt didn’t just give us one of the funniest TV shows ever made with South Park, but also one of the funniest movies. They’re geniuses! This movie has me crying with laughter every time I see it.
They also have the #1 grossing broadway play of all time.
I still say Orgazmo is their best movie, even though it stars Trey Parker and Matt Stone is only basically a cameo in it. That movie is just terrific and no one ever talks about it.
And I don't care what anybody else says I love the movie baseketball. And the Book of Mormon was hilarious
Cannibal the Musical...one of their first films is one of my favorites. the songs stick with ya
@@LordLOC I don't wanna sound gay or nothin', but that comment is hot.
“I promise, I will never die” 😂
"Only thing funnier than watching them walk is watching them dance"
Oh just wait a teeny bit, you'll find that next level activity real soon.
lol 😆
Blazing Saddles, Team America: World Police, and Tropic Thunder are somehow a trilogy.
South Park might be partially responsible for keeping my sanity. It's proof that others see what I see.... and the South Park guys see it so well they're able to communicate it in brilliant and entertaining ways.
The main reason they did Matt Damon so dirty is because the puppet got warped or arrived sorta messed up or something, so it turned into a running joke. "Matt Damon" is still my favorite quote from this film 🤣
From what I’ve read Matt Damon thought it was hilarious. That he quotes it all the time.
One of the most consistently hilarious comedies of all time, definitely.
Unless you're this dude's age and are afraid to laugh at anything he thinks might be the slightest bit offensive to anyone ever...
Best part of the puppet love scene is that they cut 40 seconds from it. The MPAA originally rated this film NC-17, with at least 9 revisions of the scene to get an R-rating. Matt Stone and Trey Parker have gone on record numerous times with how ridiculous it is that things all kids do with Barbie's got them an NC-17 rating while all of the explosions and violence weren't a problem for the MPAA
Omg if u ever watch the behind the scenes of South Park, they literally have to run every episode by the standards people before it aired because it was that bad, well good actually 😅😅😂😂😂
The unrated version has the extended sex scene...
Dude you had me and I’m wife laughing when you asked “why’s he still holding on to the briefcase” and “no me gusta”.
Something nobody ever points out is when Gary's at the bar and looking suicidal, he's got the hammer with him 😂
The creativity of this is unmatched, and the fact Trey Parker sings all the songs and does most the voices. Insane
This film is brilliant on so many different levels. Can't believe it's 20 yrs old already.
This movie came out right before I went to Iraq in 2004. It was definitely one of our favorite movies to watch while deployed and while we were with psyops, we used to drive around with large speakers on our vehicles. We used to get a kick out of playing the team America theme song as we rolled around the city.
😂
That's so fucking cringe. 🫣
DUDE...I NEVER SEEN YOU BURST INTO TEARS LAUGHING BEFORE. PRICELESS!!!
The puppeteers could make the characters walk and fight realistically but Parker & Stone wanted them to look really bad like in the 60s Thunderbird shows. Hilarious!
And if course the puppet sex 😅 In the director's cut the sex scene goes on and on and on LOL
Nobody ever reacts to the unrated version of this. They don't know what kind of puppet sex depravity they are missing!
The style of the puppets (and everything else in the movie) are based on a 1960s TV series "Thunderbirds."
When Matt Damon's puppet came out of the oven, they felt he looked......special.
Alec Baldwin got word that he was going to be in the movie and volunteered to perform the voice acting for the character. They told him, "No thanks, we have someone better."
"You may want to take your own life."
slides hammer across table
The story on Matt Damon is that the puppet for him came back looking just a little "off" so instead of remaking a better one or omitting him, they just made him a simpleton only capable of saying his own name
"Ahhh durkha durkha durkha" Truer words never spoken lol
Imagine watching this in the theater sitting next to kids that were definitely under 10 years old AND their parents. That happened to me in Las Vegas.
The soundtrack alone is immaculate LOL
I'm pretty sure the idea to use puppets was inspired by the 1960s British TV show Thunderbirds, which was also done entirely with marionettes. It seemed fun when Matt Stone and Trey Parker started, but it ended up taking two years of 14 hour days to complete it, and they swore that they will never do another marionette project again.
Back in the late 60's there was a TV show with puppets like these called Thunderbirds. When Matt and Trey heard there was going to be a feature length movie they were excited until they found out the puppets would be replaced with live action actors. The puppets were what everyone thought was cool about the show so they just made their own puppet movie.
The brilliance of Matt and Trey is unmatched and not comparable to anything because of things like what you just said. They made a movie with puppets because they were pissed that thunder birds wasn't done with puppets so they said we will make the best puppet movie ever in retaliation. lol
I still quote this movie. My poor kids be so confused. 🤣🤣🤣
If you haven't seen the South Park movie... oh, man... absolute classic, even for non-fans of the show. And yes, it goes there. And beyond.
Back in the day, a couple years after this came out, there was a local theater that served beer (which was pretty unique back in the day), and they played this movie on 4th of July. Such a fun movie to watch in a movie theater with a ton of drunk people, everyone singing along with the songs, shouting out "Herrro!" every time Kim Jong Il shows up... good times.
Sadly they absolutely hated having to deal with puppets so much they said they wouldn't do anymore. Even with the amazing work they did on all the puppetry and world.
the best mix of action, satire and pop culture 😂
If you enjoyed the songs, you should know Trey Parker's Broadway show The Book of Mormon won 9 Tony awards lol. He's always been musically inclined that's why there's so many original songs in South Park.
I remember seeing this movie in the theaters and there were people who actually brought their kids to see this movie, and when the puppet started having sex, a lot of parents were taking their kids out of the movie theater lol
It begs the question how the kid arrived in this world. (must have been a virgin birth - I've heard there's loads of those in the USA)
Dude, you gotta do both seasons of FRISKY DINGO! 15 minute episodes, because it was Adult Swim.
Absolutely the funniest cartoon ever!
And the amount of running in-jokes is insane!
Definitely your kind of show.
It absolutely could be made today. People are getting real sick of having to be so careful all the time. Look at all the reaction vids for Blazing Saddles. Every reactor laughs their ass off the whole movie once they get over the shock then says "You couldn't make this today".
The problem with everyone's line of thinking is that it doesn't matter if it COULD be made today, the real question is "Do we even really need it?" And the real answer is "Yes but maybe only once or twice a generation" and "only if it's clever.". If it's done all the time and it's not special, than it does nothing for society. But if it comes out only once or twice every decade or so, than it has the potential to matter if it's coming from the right person or people or if it's saying the right things in an intelligent way.
The problem with what everyone who says things like "Blazing Saddles couldn't be made today" though, is that these are just coming from idiotic anti-progress morons who keep shouting about free speech louder than anyone else soley becuase they just want the right to be a dumb asshole all of the time, without ever saying anything useful or handled with any personal responsibility. Satire works sparingly as a sharpened blade, not a constant waving around like a dull knife.
They’re puppets (string marionettes)… that’s why they move like that. And because it’s hilarious of course!
I look at the bright side. Carson DID get to spend the rest of his life with Lisa.
14:00 Is exactly what all of us thought. Followed by : "How fucking long is this scene?" lol
You should watch some of their older films. Cannibal: The Musical, which they made in college for dirt cheap. And Orgazmo, which I believe they made just after South Park started. Both are amazingly funny.
Did anybody end up calling 911? I don't think I've seen anybody laugh that hard without puking in a long time
The puke scene is my all time favorite in any movie. Something about people vomiting leaves me in a state of laughing hysteria.
The guys that made South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, made this movie and the music
Matt Damon thought his portrayal in this was hilarious but said he was a bit hurt that they didn't contact him to voice himself.
'I shouldn't be laughing, but these puppets...' Oh no, you should definitely be laughing. lol.
Fair to say we'll never see a puppet puke that much again.
21:06 "How can a movie just trash another movie ... unrelated to it"
This is skewering a lot of 90's and early 2000's action movies and that joke is not the only direct shot fired at Michael Bay.
This is almost exactly how I feel about America, a big badass joke 😂
The Creighton Collection needs to add this masterpiece to their series for the 20th anniversary. 😂
Happy to see you lose it and hit this level of joy during a recording
Any day that I am awake for 12 hours or more, I quote this cinematic masterpiece.
“America!! F*ck Yeah!!!” 😂😂😂
Appreciate your reaction to this underrated classic. You are correct in your suspicions that Trey and Matt are still pushing the envelope and boundaries of supposed cultural morals to this day with South Park and whatever else they lend their talents too. Grateful for their content in these strange days.
There's a unsensored version of this movie.. It includes many extra scenes.. To mention one, the sex scene, they also pee and shit on each other etc.. It's really funny!
Fun fact. It you look closely. They actually use puppets in some of the scenes! I had to watch it back to back just to confirm it
The one singing the songs is Trey Parker. He voiced Gary, Kim Jong Il, and many others.
Besides this and South Park, Trey Parker made the other films Cannibal! The Musical, Baseketball and Orgazmo. He also made the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon
Trey and Matt also made ‘Orgasmo!’. Absolutely hilarious movie about a Mormon missionary who gets involved in the porn industry. Would be difficult to react to perhaps but definitely worth a shot.
I went to watch this in the cinema and it was euphoric being in the theatre and everyone was laughing at every joke...I've never had that experience since...so hilarious 😂
WE'VE LOST INTELLIGENCE! I REPEAT, WE HAVE NO INTELLIGENCE!
You have got to check out the movie that made South Park possible - Cannibal! The Musical. It opened all the doors for Trey and Matt.
“Only thing funnier than watching them watch is watching them dance.” Yeeeeaahhh, about that 😂
"This is my jam." "Slavery! Frick Yeah!" "Wait, What was that last one?"
'Jihad, Durka, Durka'...
That vomit scene had me on the floor laughing. I almost vomited.
The Matt Damon one was, the model got damaged in manufacturing and figured "Matt Damon" was funnier than actual lines.
It breaks my heart everytime someone says this movie couldn't come out now,i've never saw why not haha
Do you guys all like get together and say okay guys we're doing this movie this week. So that way someone like me will see at least one of the reaction channels reacting to team America and then since all of you guys did it the same week chances are I'm going to end up watching all of them haha I swear you guys doing on purpose. Which is brilliant
Their movies are underrated, BASEketball, Cannibal! The Musical, South Park Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, are up there with some of my favorite comedies. BASEketball is the only one that isn't really a musical. Team America is technically a musical too lol. Cannibal! The Musical is way underrated and less known about than their other two. I would give them a check out any one is a good choice. Or just all of them! Lol. Keep up the great content!
They didn’t write BASEketball though I think that was David Zucker who did the naked gun films. They did write and star in one you missed though ‘Orgasmo’.
@@Banner-18 thanks for the clarification! Also I have yet to actually see Orgasmo. I have heard great things but I guess I'll need to check it out myself!
@@LostTh3Game Orgasmo is okay. It's not their best work but its worth a look if you like their style of comedy.
Matt and Trey just don't care what people say. F**k yeah!
The reason Kim sounded like cartman is because if you dont know Trey and Matt do almost every voice in south park. lol
*The Interview* tells a very similar story in as silly a way but not with puppets.
This movie was funnier when seeing it in theaters in 2004. The hans blix joke goes over everyones head now but was extremely topical at the time. Still a hilarious movie though
13:19 my favorite line
Thanks for the laugh.. i need it. Woke up and i have a golfball sized , painful, lump right on the rim of my butthole. To hard for a roid.. so im guessing its a boil. Every step, breath, shift in weight and fire shoots up my butt to my spine. I literally cannot adequately verbalize the pain. So.. if it hasnt gone down by tomorrow.. i get to have a dr stare directly into my brown eye.. and probably go full American Me on it with a shiv. Damn i needed this laugh😢
You want another movie made by Matt and Trey, give the film "BASEketball" a try. You will die laughing
I called Morgan & Morgan and asked to speak to Mr Morgan...they said he's unavailable....so I said.."On, well how about Mr Morgan?"
in the unrated verison the sex sceen also has golden showers and scat play.
Trey Parker was a music major in college.
"Dis my song now"
SLAVERY! FUCK YEAH!
LOL
Americas greatest living satirists
Kentucky Fried Movie is the foundation for Parker and Stone.
_We're gaurds! Gauurrrds Gaurrrrrds_
Insightful and articulate reaction.
This is a DOCUMENTARY!
This movie was made by the creators of Cannibal the Musical.
*I'm so roneryyyy!*
You need to watch some of Jerry Anderson's work: Stingray. Thunderbirds. Supermarionation FTW
I totally forgot how funny this was.
This is one of the greatest movies ever made.
Is it as prestigious as "2001: A Space Odyssey"? or "Lord of the Rings"? or "Star Wars"? ... no ...
But it is unique, and so well crafted that NOBODY will ever attempt to make a puppet movie after this (nearly 20 years and counting)
There's no denying its place in cinema history.
I Adore both you and this film .. Together was 🤣🌠
amazing movie!! love your reaction mate
Matt Damon !
The fact that you don't know anything about Southpark and/or it's connection to this movie is hilarious
"why do they have to destroy stuff every time?"
- cos America.. that's why!
Hilarious 😂
people are too sensitive today for Team America, which is sad because its a hilarious movie
Bro Black Dynamite!!
28:46 😅🤣😂
Highly recommend following up with the South Park movie, Oscar winner for music and best song...
mATt dAMoN lol
