Oh, also, the Matt Damon thing was that when they got a look at the puppet they thought it made him look… um… special. So they were walking around saying, “Matt. Damon.” like that to one another cracking up over how dumb the puppet looked. So, yeah, sure, put it in the movie. 😂
“Why does he sound like Cartmen?” Well… LOL By far one of the funniest damn movies ever made. Trey and Matt are legends. As if South Park wasn’t enough they came up with this too. Has me crying with laughter every single time I see it.
The people behind this are the creators of South Park, so yeah xD They love to shit on everyone - Matt Damon actually really loved his puppet, they only made him like that bc his face came out really bad and had no time or want to fix it. So they just gave him that line.
It is what it is I don't care what inspired them but for simplicity this is a cocaine delusion of grandeur from what i heard a week of messing with those puppets most people would abandon it and make something else
@@EOMReacts Actually, they say they can’t come up with ideas while high. They did a whole South Park episode on it. They did, however, attend the Oscars on acid while wearing dresses, so… I mean… they do know the feeling. 😂😂😂
Matt Damon once said he saw this movie and then he and his kids used to go around the house saying, 'Matt Damon!' to each other. He thought it was funny too. Matt and Trey said they actually liked Matt Damon. It all came about when they saw the puppet that looked nothing like Damon and just played it like a big, dumb guy. This movie in the midst of cancel cancel is even better now. Matt Damon!
This movie was funy as hell. People clamored for a sequel, but it was so diffucult to make that the directors said absolutely no way. (The original idea for the movie was to remake Michael Bay's movie, Armageddon, but with puppets, yet ultimately this is the movie they ended up making after the fact.)

Only recently learned that the “Matt Damon” joke was only because when they made the marionette, he got a little over-cooked in the oven and came out looking… ‘special’…
"Why he sound like Cartman?" That's because he's voiced by Cartman himself Trey Parker. This movie is made by the creators of South Park, Parker and Matt Stone. This movie was not easy to make and the whole experience burned them out.
I predict at least 15 UUUGHHHHH 12 pauses to get the laugher out, and 20 pauses to stare at the camera with the "for real? Really?" Reason why Matt Damon was acting . .. "special" is because when the puppet was shipped it got damaged a bit and Stone and Parker thought he looked re***ded. And just ran with it.

Somebody might have mentioned it already, but that marionette show at the very beginning with the crappy looking little marionettes was actually about 5 minutes long. Trey Parker and Matt Stone were playing a practical joke on the studio who gave the money and go-ahead for making a movie with marionettes, so they put that part at the beginning with the crappy marionettes to freak out studio. I saw this in theaters ... it's so offensive, but it's the hardest I've ever laughed at the movies Unfortunately, I feel like most of their comedy isn't engaged with on that level and instead of people digging into the satire and seeing what exactly is being criticized, they're embracing the surface level ignorant text that's being used as the vehicle. It's rather troubling. Most satire based shows and movies seem to be suffering something similar: The Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, Starship Troopers, American Psycho, Tropic Thunder, Fight Club, etc ... some of the worst people use the surface level text of these shows and movies as mantras without even trying to engage further and seeing that they're all HYPER critical of the people they're depicting. It's really troubling! (Christian Bale has talked about interacting with the people who idolize Patrick Bateman from American Psycho and how disturbing he found it, for instance) I do wish Matt and Trey still made movies. For context, there's a Broadway musical called "Rent", which has also been made into a movie. "Lease" is a parody of that, the song lyrics being even more on the nose than in the original.
There is no way this movie could get made today. I remember people walking out of the theatre when the Aids song came on. What did they expect from the creators of South Park?
