Anyone sure why he invades us even after reveling in the death of Messmer? Saying he’s going after more of Marika’s kin with this new found bloodlust… so he… goes to kill us? I understand it eventually if his end goal is to eradicate all tarnished from the Land of Shadows, but to step directly to the one that helped to defeat Messmer is a bit crazy. 😅
just a guess here but i think its bc we r sort of acting as an agent of Marika and the golden order in this dlc, its is similar to y we have the gank fight with all of miquellas followers right before the final fight, if u dont do the questline for this guy also he can be a part of that gank fight as well, so i think its a bit of he knows we r not here to help miquella and that we r also trying to become the lord of the “old order” ie become elden lord
I summoned him against Messmer but died on purpose cuz I wanted to solo him. Then when I killed Messmer, he was just yapping about the mother or something after I rested at the site of grace, I rested again and then he disappeared so I went to the church of bud to see if he would invade me and he did not. Wasted all of that time going to the church of bud for nothing.
I'm stuck at step 4. Leda keeps saying how she will follow Hornsent to black keep and i'm supposed to see the summon signs there but she's not moving there and the summon signs are not appearing... *sigh i really hope the questline is not bugged because if it is then i'm done with the dlc. I'm not replaying all the dlc just to do this questline. Like this is so frustrating i can't progress the dlc and kill Mesmer because if i do that then the questline fucks up. So i cannot progress the dlc without the summon signs showing up... i want to do this questline i did all the previous parts.

For me, Leda changed to Sir Ansbach. Go talk to Leda again and she mentions Ansbach, you'll find the signs where you met with Ansbach on the first floor of the Shadowkeep library
Same with me, Leda is still at the 3 crossroads grace telling me to kill the hornsent, but the signs never appeared. It's been like that since I entered the black keep. I think it's bugged.
@@ignit89 Try going up and down the stairs. He did for me. The stairs closest to the Church of Bud, Main Entrance grace point. Turn around and go down those stairs, go back up and he'll invade.
Finished the questline for the most part (killed Mesmer with him) but I didn't know he would invade you since I already killed Romina. Thanks for making this! I'm glad I have the caterpillar mask
My game is glitched the summon signs arnt there i fought messmer but havnt killed him but i explored alot so idk if progressing to other areas ends this quest but the summons signs wont show 😢
Same with me. The summon signs never appeared even before I entered mesmers boss room. Leda is still at the 3 roads grace telling me to meet her in shadow keep. Idk what's going wrong maybe a bug.

Hey, so I don't know about anyone else, but talked to him once at the highroad cross. I then went and killed messmer, reset the area (he wasn't there). I went back to highroad cross and talked to him about the boss fight. I went to Church of the Bud, Main Entrance and backtracked to the stairs, I road down the stairs a little bit and got invaded by him. Hope this helps someone lol
Yeah, he won't invade me. I beat the Bud Saint prior to Messmer, and didn't talk to Hornsent after the Messmer fight, also didn't help him or Leda fight eachother.
Because his thirst for vengeance increased after killing Messmer and he vowed to eliminate all of Marika's lineage and the inhabitants of the kingdom of the Erdtree
@@tionwathe492 I was doing ansbach quest and the last thing I did before helping the hornsent was give freyja the letter from ansbach, I know after giving the letter you’re supposed to talk to Leda and she shifts her attention to ansbach but I didn’t do that I helped the hornsent then after tried progressing ansbach quest but couldn’t because Leda was gone and ansbach was gone too with no summon signs next to him and this is before killing Mesmer. So it seems if you help the hornsent it might cancel ansbach quest line too because you can no longer talk to Leda.
@@iPelody he doesn't drop an ash of war however his weapons have a unique ash of war. You get his stuff very late in the story, basically before the final boss

well even if you miss his quest you probably still gonna encounter him at the second to last bossfight and can get his armor and weapon

Do you still get swift sneak if you help Leda? Otherwise killing Hornsent is just a better choice so you can progress the other quest
