I really appreciate the image of Prince Phillip grilling burgers for the Royal Family. That’s instantly relatable to all fathers, all of whom claim lordship over the grill as their birthright.
There's definitely a place for flatter patties, but it's hard to get a nice medium cook on something so slim and still get the nice maillard reaction on the outside.
I know what you mean. *And* when you bite down on it, the fatty juices rush down your chin *real* fast. One could place four cocktail sticks in it evenly spaced and slice it into quarters. Might work? 😄
Different Burgers for different folks. I know some people really like a big meaty burger. Personally, I prefer a smashed burger with a beautiful crust with cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles and a bit of mayo. Grilling the onions is a real nice touch.
Hi Darren hope you’re well. I just wanted to let you know that you have made this lockdown a bit more bearable with your videos and I really appreciate it. The UK misses you! 🇬🇧
These look great, but imho the best burgers in the US are the local burger places, not thre chains for sure. The smaller successful burger joints use fresh meat, smash it on a hot griddled, use a soft soft bun browned on the griddle, processed cheese (because it's creamier) and a few condiments. Every town has one of these places and they're ALWAYS packed. They're not fancy, they're delicious.
You can tell he would be a pleasant person to work with or for. Every video of his has been a joy to watch as he speaks of memories working for the Royal family. Thanks for your uploads Chef McGrady. You never disappoint and I look forward to trying your recipes. Take care.
Darren, you are an absolute delight to watch. Your little anectodes, your dedication to your craft and your warm energy set you apart. I especially love your baking recipes. Much love ❤️
I love your videos! Burgers with mayonnaise and Stilton! Amazing. Even though I’m American, I hate ketchup on hamburgers. My favorite toppings are mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sautéed mushrooms, and a yummy cheese. Stilton is heavenly. Cave aged Gruyère is also terrific.
I could go for one of these burgers over most I have had from restaurants. Stilton!! Yum!! Red onion, yes. A good bread roll makes the burger. Looks tasty.
No suggestions really but lots of compliments. Your cooking is fantastic, lovely manners and style, none of that "Oh, yeah, baby" stuff, which gets old. Keep up the good work.
Oh these look so gooood!! Thank you for the stories about the Royal Family. Can you tell us a little about the Queen Mum and what were some of her favorite dishes. She seemed like such a great lady.
Well, watching this made me so, so hungry for a burger that I hopped in my car and drove over to an all night cafe and ordered a burger.. waiting for it now while I type this. It might not be as good as your Royal Burger but it's as close as I could get with the craving you put on me.
Darren, would you consider producing a book and possibly a series of youtube videos on Prince Philip's favorite dishes as he would have made them? Especially his favorite grilling techniques. This in honor of his life.
You could hold the mayo on mine and add a bit of yellow mustard and perhaps a small squirt of Heinze Ketchup. Then it sounds just right. Never tried one with the Stilton Cheese, but I would imagine it would taste quite good. We tend to use good ol' cheddar down here in the Deep South.
This a good recipe, but a flame broil burger using mesquite wood is how I do it. And he is doing it absolutely correct when he lightly toasted the buns. Cold soggy buns just ruins a burger. The selection of cheese is a personal choice; I prefer sharp cheddar or gouda. If you want to enhance the burger even more, add some bacon.
Absolutely brilliant! I have sheepishly copied all of your directions. The Celery seed and dry mustard will be a very nice touch. I am famished already. Cheers! God bless the Queen!
These look delicious, inspired me to try mixing my own ground beef, thank you! Would love to see an episode that covers royal snack recipes and light fare. What would be a few afternoon snacks, or light dinners?
What an amazing life this man has led, cooking for royalty!!!! I bet he got a few stories to tell but he is too much of a gentleman to say. Thankyou Mr Mcgrady.
I like to add my special burger sauce, 2 parts mayo, 1 part tomato ketchup, 1 part frenches hot dog mustard, a few drips tabasco, some onion powder, garlic powder, finely diced onion + sweet gherkins.
Hi Mayen 67...Do you mean french's hot dog relish? In Canada that is what we call it and french's is Canadian. Do you have any measurements for the onion powder, garlic powder, onion and gherkins? thanks the sauce sounds delectable. thanks fran from canada
Oh Darren, burgers are my favorite food of all, and seeing this luscious burger - cooked on the grill, even celery seeds scattered on it, Stilton cheese - I could almost cry because I know I'll never get to eat one. But I REALLY enjoyed seeing you make it and the final result. A truly Stellar Burger!!
I watched this video a week or so ago. And since then, I have polished off two meals (one per week) with burgers. Today’s delight, with the seasoning on the top and NOT in the meat (thanks Darren!!!🤠), were two large buffalo burgers with imported Swiss cheese on the top!!! Yummmmyyyy!!! No extra stuff; just the meat and cheese on the bun...hun!!!😉!!! Well, I added mayo and ketchup to the potato bun(s)!!! Nice stuff!!!😁😁😁
Darren you can't believe how popular you have become with Russian viewers now! I live in the UK but do a lot of videos in Russian, I basically repeat your videos, comment in Russian while cooking, and results are always superb! Thank you for giving us these tasty recipes!! Today is our ROYAL BURGER DAY!! Going to make it now xx
Think your terrific, you genuinely seem like a very nice man. I enjoy your videos and especially like when you reflect with your time with the Royal Family❤
Incredible recipe!! I tried it at home (as close as my partner and I could get) and it was the perfect burger with all the right elements! Add beetroot for an Aussie twist! REQUEST: I recently travelled to England and had a fabulous Steak and Ale pie in Nottingham. Could you please make one so I can learn to do it from home? P.S. I love your videos and watching you cook. Very wholesome and relaxing. Love from Australia!
Those tomatoes look incredible, hard to find ones like that. Personally I prefer two crispy smashed burgers over one big thick patty but to each their own. Stilton is a very underrated on a burger. Also I think you burnt those buns a little, otherwise great video.
You’re just around the corner from my house here in Stonebriar Park. Gorgeous home you’re at there and lovely outdoor kitchen. Thanks for this video, cannot wait to make burgers this weekend with your recipe!
I make my burgers with Worcestershire sauce, montreal steak seasoning, and a shredded cheddar in 80/20 ground beef. I prefer the intense flavor. I will have to try it your way sometime. Looks outstanding.
Your kitchen both indoor and outdoor is so impressive. I love all your utensils and gear combined with your skills and years of experience. I've honestly just found your channel but cannot seem to stop watching. They're even comforting to sleep too. My husband passed away this past summer and I have to have some noise while I sleep. Biannual beats and your channel have become my nighttime ritual. Altho to be fair sometimes I have to turn to biannual beats because I stay up too late listening to your dash and whimsy.
Yeah, is a French-trained chef I suppose, in some video he said that the recipes at the Royal kitchen are written in French so he certainly comes from that school of service. No crazy unnecessary single use gadgets like most American chefs but just the classic utensils.
CHECK OUT CHEF DARREN MCGRADY MERCH; teespring.com/stores/my-store-10454264

Bro you gotta TAKE A BITE OF YOUR FOOD. THATS THE MONEY SHOT..
Make Thai curry next!
I want to come over and have backyard burgers with Chef Darren and listen to his stories!
Yes!!!!! ❤️
You forgot some tea hhahahah
Let’s campaign and make this happen! Maybe raising money for charity but it must happen!
Said the actress to the Bishop. 😂
the smartest reply/comment ever.
But the most important question is: is the Queen eating the Burgers with her bare hands?
No she been feed with tax payers money
She wipes herself with our tax money like it’s a napkin probably
oh goodness gracious perish the thought
The Kush Puppie I thought monarchs were just figure heads. Huh the more you know.
Probably with a knife and fork. Probably also eats fish and chips with knife and fork
I really appreciate the image of Prince Phillip grilling burgers for the Royal Family. That’s instantly relatable to all fathers, all of whom claim lordship over the grill as their birthright.
Chesire Cat me too! I got an immediate mental picture of him at a grill!
A British man grilling English-style burgers in Texas. Love it. 🐾
Passion for feeding people and eating is one of the most important characteristics of a cook and Darren has that in spades!
can we all just agree on that burgers should be wider, not taller... I ain't no snake... my jaw can't open that much.
Patties should be shaped like stroopwaffles, not a tin can.
@@Murray_Brown THIS RIGHT HERE!

Don't agree. Smashing them does make them less succulent. You can smash the bun when you're ready to take a bite.p
Burgers are so sophisticated today. For example in America you need the whole periodic table to make them...
hehe
Thought you Americans didn't do irony.
😁😁😁
Darren is unique in that he says "to-may-to" and "to-Mah-to" interchangably
That made me smile :)
It’s that DFW, Texas rubbing off on him hehehe
Let's call the whole thing off.
Watching this at 2am was a bad choice, so hungry right now, they look so deliciously gorgeous
Different Burgers for different folks. I know some people really like a big meaty burger. Personally, I prefer a smashed burger with a beautiful crust with cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles and a bit of mayo. Grilling the onions is a real nice touch.
Switch out mayo for mustard and you just described my favorite burger. Grilled onions are pretty amazing.
I would pay to see a cook off between him and Gordon Ramsay, and the Queen will be the judge lol
Hi Darren hope you’re well. I just wanted to let you know that you have made this lockdown a bit more bearable with your videos and I really appreciate it. The UK misses you! 🇬🇧
Indeed we do. X
Petition for Darren to have a tv show
Favorite Chef ever: Darren McGrady hands down!!!💓💯🤗
He is such a positive vibe person.

Wow, thank you!

If you depress the center a bit it helps keep it in a patty shape
I love your videos! Burgers with mayonnaise and Stilton! Amazing. Even though I’m American, I hate ketchup on hamburgers. My favorite toppings are mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sautéed mushrooms, and a yummy cheese. Stilton is heavenly. Cave aged Gruyère is also terrific.
There is burger, and there is burger. Then there's me, asperger.
WOW! I always knew there were "burgers" and Burgers, but this really shows it!
Here in Australia before the McDonalds abomination there was the local Greek milk bar. Now THAT was a real burger …and with beetroot slice!
I could go for one of these burgers over most I have had from restaurants. Stilton!! Yum!! Red onion, yes. A good bread roll makes the burger. Looks tasty.
I’ll never be the same after watching your video! Oh my goodness what beautiful burgers - I’m so hungry for one. Absolute culinary perfection!
Omg this man needs all the views in the world helloooo people lol he’s amazing
No suggestions really but lots of compliments. Your cooking is fantastic, lovely manners and style, none of that "Oh, yeah, baby" stuff, which gets old. Keep up the good work.
Really wish you could of pass this burger through the screen! Goodness!
I could listen to you narrate a telephone book and still enjoy it.
Now that's a burger
Oh my I could crawl through the tv for one of those burgers lol, looks so delicious.
Oh these look so gooood!! Thank you for the stories about the Royal Family. Can you tell us a little about the Queen Mum and what were some of her favorite dishes. She seemed like such a great lady.
I love every story you tell as well as everything you cook. Thanks for sharing!!

Absolutely wonderful. I'm going to try these tonight on my grill. Cheers Chef!
Putting the bun on the grill really adds flavor, but don't burn
Please do a video on:
Diffrent dishes served to visitors of the royal family
It's like a Burger King advert, only you're actually getting what you see in the picture, just better 😃
Those look incredible! 😋
Perfect ingredients for a burger. I enjoy your short stories behind every recipe.
His cheeky smile when he smooshes that crappy little burger!!
Those burgers look absolutely delicious. And with Stilton - heaven!
Leave off the onion and give me all the pickles, please Looks very very tasty. So much fun to watch Davven!
Just found out about your channel and i can't stop watching! great job!
Darren you're a man at the top of his game. from paul a royal chef
This is a level of burger care that I have never seen.
Now that is a burger
Did you try the recipes ?

Those burgers are Art, amazing
Admiration is in overflow right now. Love your style.

That looks to die for!
Gosh. They look amazing. Hats off to you, sir!
Well explained and Beautifully executed!
These burgers look delicious! Thank you!
He burnt the buns but hadn't got any more - we've all been there.
He wouldn't have if he brushed melted butter on them.
I could just about taste those burgers! 😋 They looked amazing! 👍🍔
How can you eat a burger that thick and enjoy every ingredient?
Did you try the recipes ?
