How is the engagement point when pushing the clutch and shifting gears? Is it easy to learn how to drive manual
Either one you buy still a win cause you're having fun driving it.
Under 30.000. Hahaha good one. 38.000-42.000 Euro in Germany.
Are you sure they are wireless apple carplay ?
I want it in orange
The brz looks like it does not come with the duckbill
subaru is more suitable for daily car cause it is softer
Nice job on explaining the differences. I'm a Yota guy but I prefer the BRZ for both gens.
Nice clean and straight review!
I purchased a Honda Civic Touring 2 months ago for $40,000 (including taxes). I wish I purchased the Gr86 premium MT
Nobody gittin' none of them! The chip shortage has stopped production 'till 2024. I was wrong, mine will be here next week!
Back to the future
what if a gr86 & brz would look like as a Time Machine
put two and compare Toyotas, the front looks old, Subau, sporty and modern, I came to the conclusion that the two are standing next to each other, the difference is huge
I like the last bit about the wrap. thanks for posting.
First I heart Auto-trader. I used love the paper editions you would pick up at a gas station back in the day. So glad you have a channel! About time~
I hope someone comes up with the 1st gen FR-S style front bumper. Best front end looking bumper IMO.
No this looks better. Almost like a Porsche.
@@realnapster1522 Porsche are ugly though.
so the BRZ wants to be a FRS and the GR86 wants to be Initial D gotcha
Get the Brz, swap out the front clip

The black and red interior of the BRZ alone is worth it over the GR86 it just looks more special you spend more time sitting in your car than staring at the grill.......js
Neither!! 👍
I would wait until next Toyota Supra ultimate is coming:)
Car companies are funny I feel like if you're a car company and you have to rebadg youer part on the vehicle or the entire car then you probably shouldn't be a company. You should just be a car modding company because that's what you're doing just modding the car. However I Heard that is the best way to start a new company.. maybe they all want to feel new?
This information only holds up on paper, the GR86 is setting better lap times than the BRZ, both stock and out of the box, driven back-to-back by professional drivers on closed race-tracks. The BRZ isn't more 'dialed-in' at all. On top of all that, the GR86 still seems to be the more playful car. Toyota is having their cake and eating it too.
They don’t both have ducktail spoilers.
if u can put the brz headlights in the gr the 86 is my choice!
As somebody from the EU, it's very simple. The Toyota one. Only they sell it LMFOA
You said “happier” and now I can’t un see it
theres no wireless car play or adroid auto in this car
so basicly no real information between the two......
Correct answer: whichever one you can find
GR86
Torque steer with rear wheel drive? How do?
Would go with the brz too
BRZ all the way
The dredded power dip is NOT gone, its still there, its just not as bad as the original dip. That dip was filled in like 80% ... but the dip is still there.
I might as well just get a quicker car at this point otherwise I’ll just have this car that looks nice, isn’t very quick for how aggressive looking it is, and constantly looking for that extra “umph” of power
@@YSoAggressive it does look really good but its still only 225 hp which really isnt much.
But they want to offer an "affordable" sports car and thats what we get.
@@ACommenterOnRUclips It’s got the same power-to-weight as a new WRX.
@@richardhoulton4016 ahh ok ?? And what does the wrx power to weight ratio have anything to do with this video being about GR86 vs BRZ ???
@@ACommenterOnRUclips Well…it means that it’s power is no longer terrible.
I think ill just wait for the 2023 Z
Gonna get the GR just cuz of the front end jeez that’s kinda girly to me
Only real man drive girly looking vehicle, because they don't care what others think. Also GR is ugly.
All the brz have been allocated already at subaru for the 22 module year
Aluminum knuckles on the BRZ.
Brz all the way. The headlights are different (confirmed on site), aluminum parts, they understand the formula better than Toyota.
The BRZs front bumper though is ugly af tho
@@iRecordRandomVids my friend has one, and it looks really good in person especially with the front lip splitter option
@@iRecordRandomVids also subarus hold their value fairly well even against toyota.
Im pretty sure the headlights are exactly the same. Whats different?
@@jayboudreau8656 gr86 cuts off halfway, the brz has the full L shape.
Going brz for her and gr86 for him.thanks
The cheaper one.
They're the exact same price for each trim level lol. $27k for the basic trim, $30k for the top trim. What you see is what you get.
@@rotor13 they are not.
@@mjor6406 Have you actually seen their prices? The website for Subaru and Toyota list them for the exact same MSRP, to the dollar. Go to their websites and look at the prices side by side.
If your local dealer is marking them up.... thats different.
Some dealers are marking them up to $45-50k.
I signed my paperwork recently for a GR86 Premium for $30,400 OTD, expected deliver date of February 10th with $0 Down payment.
Never pay for a dealer markup/above MSRP for a car. You're just screwing yourself and making the salesman VERY HAPPY.
@@rotor13 Subaru BRZ is always cheaper. I bought the original back when it came out. I have been comparing prices since then. Subaru will do maintenance intervals for every 7000 or so while Toyota will do the same for every 3500 miles. Thus Subaru is cheaper when it comes regular maintenance.
@@mjor6406 Literally look both websites side to side. They are identically priced.
I just looked at both of their owners manuals online.... Both have the same maintenance intervals.
So you clearly are talking out of your ass because you don't own one.
What other fake bullshit you want to spout for me to confirm with ACTUAL facts?
Does both GR 86 and BRZ have lane keep assist? I know the subaru has it. Does the toyota have it as well?
Most likely, the only difference that I’m aware of is the front bumper and the suspension parts
brz has subaru eyesight tech (adpative cruise control, lane keeping assist etc). while gr86 does not have any toyota safety sense... so BRZ is way better
@@mww4ever yeah your right.. I found out that brz and gr86 has the same features...
Look at the camera
toyotas for life!
Subaru just because of the boxer engine
They both have the same engine:/
@@gabrielteran2577 Yes, what I meant was Subaru is known for boxer engine, seeing it in a Toyota doesn't seems right.
😐 va 😀
You forgot the word "anemic"when mentioning hp figures👍
If you want to drag race - get a Tesla.
@@zzanatos2001 😂😂😂😂.how many teslas are dominating the dragstrips?a civic with a few mods smokes em😂
@@lacuevadeadulam you realize you can mod a gr86 and brz to be fast at a drag strip too right lol. Think please
The ducktail spoiler is hideous on the 86 and WRB is the best color! BRZ for me!
86 for me
for 28 grand i can just get a used z06 with almost double the horsepower and still have money left over to buy a borla exhaust, short shifter, momo steering wheel, and a professional detailing service. Also the used z06 would have better handling since it has far higher power to weight ratio, so just because its heavier doesnt mean it cant make quicker turns.
Where are you going to find a Z06 for $28K - a salvage yard? A 2008 Z06 in decent shape with 100,000 miles on it currently goes for nearly $40K.
