For everyone saying the car "understeers a ton" it really doesn't on the street. You can still easily induce oversteer by either throttle oversteering as Yuri did, or by trail braking. It's very easily to set the twins up nearly identically by changing spring rates, sway bar settings, and adding camber. On the track, the BRZ definitely does have terminal understeer through tight corners. That being said it still is a TON of fun and will make you a much better driver. 10/10 would recommend.

I always like pointing out, this car is absolutely underrated from the factory and is likely around 250hp. I compiled a list of nearly 30 dyno runs from posts on forums and facebook groups. Stock the average so far is 215whp and 175lb-ft. So there is no way the reported figures are correct. This is also backed up by its 0-60 and 1/4 times. And it just makes sense. The FA20 made over 100hp/liter, so why wouldn't the FA24 a decade later? I thin the main driving force behind the false numbers is stepping on the 2.0t Supra's toes, which makes 255hp.
I drove both in Gran Turismo 7 and they feel different. In the game, the BRZ is my choice. However, I heard that Toyota has done something to make the car rev happier and in real life where I will not be racing other people, the improved things in the engine will tip the balance. On the other hand, with the price difference, I can cancel the induction sounds in the cabin and install the exhaust with the unequal headers and remember why I bought my 2018 STI, the rewarding driving experience. With unequal headers sound, Subaru might be the right choice, since it was a signature sound on the street with the EJ engines that sound so cool making people decide to buy them just to be able to enjoy that experience. I would love to drive them a couple of days before deciding. I definitely want one of the two.
Lol. Yuri seems to really want to hate this car I think. But I think both this and the 86 are just amazingly well rounded and reliable offerings for the money. So fun. Good job. 👍🏻
An extra $2000 is going to be (most of) a year of insurance in most places in Canada. And if you are long to track the car, it makes the most sense to get the one with the handling geared towards that.
If the dealer can shut off the pumped-in audio with their OBDII tool-at the very least why can't the end user? That should also mean that it could be an option in the infotainment system.
Subaru has relatively less roll stiffness in the rear, GR86 has more. It's little like the difference between the AP2 and AP1 versions of the S2000. Honda did the same trick to calm down the oversteer.

@@Whileweweresinners They also weigh at least 500lbs more.
Just saw one at a Tim Horton’s drive thru. It looks very cool in person.
Aside from these SP videos, I have never heard of Tune Mix.
Those rear tail lights remind me of the 9th Gen Civic.
Definitely a brz I ordered one getting it in July the I love the brz front end reminds me of c7 corvette.
Lol. Yuri seems to really want to hate this car I think. But I think both this and the 86 are just amazingly well rounded and reliable offerings for the money. So fun. Good job. 👍🏻
I like it just like the 86 a bit more
@@TheStraightPipes fair nuf. I can’t disagree with that. Hopefully Subaru will take the feedback and make a really nice mid-cycle refresh. 🤞🏻
GR86 hands down, though these are finally bumped up by at least 20hp
Can someone explain the sun visor test??
I can't imagine how much slip the GR86 has because I've been sliding around all winter in my BRZ
Did you photo shop the brz in the thumbnail? Its bumper looks way lower.
Oh you did, its got a double grill, 6 lines instead of 3.
that first launch may have sold me on one in a few years when they refine the looks a little
An extra $2000 is going to be (most of) a year of insurance in most places in Canada.
And if you are long to track the car, it makes the most sense to get the one with the handling geared towards that.
Please do a gr86 vs brz video, maybe the 20th anniversary editions
For my tall brethren out there, I’m 6’6” with longer legs than torso and I can fit in a manual comfortably.
What's up with that Z?
i would like to be able to choose the 86 but toyota doesn't sell it in my country, im pretty much stuck with thw brz
*You can just tell that thing is rapid the way the landscape was blurry* 👀
If the dealer can shut off the pumped-in audio with their OBDII tool-at the very least why can't the end user? That should also mean that it could be an option in the infotainment system.
My m3 is too fast for the track so I'm adding one of these to the stable
Subaru has relatively less roll stiffness in the rear, GR86 has more. It's little like the difference between the AP2 and AP1 versions of the S2000. Honda did the same trick to calm down the oversteer.
How many recall the recalls on this second attempt car?
Is the BRZ any quieter than a Mazda Miata RF ??
Do anyone know what road this is, I live in ontario as well looking for more driving roads
I would go for the GR86 because front end looks better and slides easier.
Changed the thumbnail from blue to green?
Much rather a Toyota GR badged and tuned product.
These cars are good value for a fun daily
Awesome video once again boys but I think you guys need to drive the granddaddy of all manual rear wheel drive cars BMW e30 325i
The God's chariot!
