I’ve been using Inkscape for a couple of years but only for things that I can’t (or couldn’t) do in Design Space. This video helped me understand a few things that I had difficulty figuring out. I look forward to future videos when I hope you will delve deeper into other functions! Thank you for this!
THE VIDEO I’VE BEEN PRAYING FOR HAS EMERGED!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 lol, seriously though thank you for making an Inkscape tutorial that’s easy to understand AND that takes away the intimidation factor! Others are so scary and now I feel confident about trying things out. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I found that in a lot of videos they rush around the screen at top speed and it is impossible to see what they did. "Go to so and so, then to so and so, then click on this, go back to so and so! and we are saying WHAT?? In this video, Corinne introduced only a very few things which we are more likely to remember. The best way to teach.
I really like how you repeat the steps to help the viewer remember it better. If that makes sense. For example, the whole aligning and centering process. It's super helpful and helps people like me memorize the steps. Thank you for such DETAILED INFORMATION, I'm trying to learn to use my mastercut software and learn to create my own svg designs but been having trouble finding people that shows some step by step and detailed info. I know the software your using is different from mastercut but alot of this is similar to it. Thankyou so much again
I have the ring thing too and love it, but when it’s a tight fit it doesn’t work well. I find just using two pliers for tight spaces like this works the best. Use one on each side of the jump ring; one to hold it and one to close it, if that makes sense.😊
I haven't used Inkscape for some time now so when your video came up in the notification I watched it right away! I needed some reminders as it is such a useful software and so easy 'once you know how'! Thank you. I've just looked at Glowforge. My eyes popped out at the price but, if it would be used a lot, then it is worth it but not for me as I don't use my Cricut much either!
I struggle with Inkscape and I am glad I subscribed to your channel. You took your time and I really understood the video... You made it so easy. Please can you do a tutorial on making texts on Inkscape please... Thank you again
The maker 3 is literally the same machine as the maker. The only difference is it cuts off mat. Also any cricut tutorial can be used with the maker 3. And like I said this video is geared toward making SVGs which is good for any machine.
I have them. What I really need are two working eyes and some depth perception lol ;) I promise you even using the pliers I’m bad at it. It’s all in the bad eyesight. Blind in one eye and depth perception that really doesn’t work don’t help lol
You may need to open your fill panel and adjust that. di SHIFT+CTRL+P and it will open that menu. then play around with it because I can't off the top of my head remember the setting
@@CorinneBlackstone that would be great i can't wait for the video i want to make a wind spinner and I'm tired of buy templates and then they don't work
Hi Corinne, Is this still how you create the svg. When I type in my text and then goto Object to path ,then ungroup. It says theres nothing to ungroup? I cant get past the text part. Actually thats all i wanna create is the Text svg.
could it be something in my settings thats keeping me from ungrouping them? after i click on path then object to path. it says 174 nodes so i know its been turned into a path but when i goto ungroup them it says.No groups to ungroup in the selection? I dont know what im doing wrong.
I was following along and when I selected path then difference, both my circles disappeared. I could undo to bring them back , but never could get the path then difference to work for slice. Can someone help me, I'm stuck.
I have a question I've been trying to get answered. Without success. You seem to know alot about sublimation. I bought a design, it prints out great on a regular printer, great color. I have the Epson F170 and it always prints out great. I always print preview to see what I got first, this design shows up with all kinds of greenish yellow designs, you can't even tell what's, what. by default is set to use ICM. If I take it off that, it looks great for preview but prints out really dark, almost black. It's the only one that does that. I've reached out to the maker and ask others and no one knows. Could it be the way it was saved or created causing the problems with sublimation. I've taken it into Inkscape, Cricut, Word with no success. I'm really enjoying your learning videos. I have inkscape and like everything else in the sublimation world, I know very little and need to learn.
One of the clearest Inkscape tutorial I’ve seen! Great instructions, thanks!
@@michelegould5637 oh my gosh thank you!!! This makes my whole day!
Second pair of pliers is better than ring tool. Excellent video. Thanks. Trying to learn Inkscape
@@colleengrebus4721 it’s whatever works for people. The two pliers is an option for people but the ring tool also works for people.

THANK YOU!! I just downloaded Inkscape trying to customize images for my son's birthday party and was lost. This came right on time for me.

Small Tipp for making uniform circles. Press ctrl key while dragging and it will stay a nice circle and not an oval.
Yes that’s what I do :)
oh ok sorry then!@@CorinneBlackstone
Very good for me. Just wish it was for the ‘Cricut maker 3. I’m very new to all this and it would be very very helpful. Not much out for the maker 3.

Thank you very much! I have to learn terms etc. but i’ll get there!
You need a pair of needle nose pliers that are flat for your jump rings, thanks for the video

Use a pair of bent nose pliers in one hand to hold the ring and then another pair of pliers to manipulate the ring in your other hand
Thanks!
Do you have any earring svg tutorials for laser cutters? I have a glowforge and would like to make my own svg files, but can't find any tutorials.
You can use the skills presented here to create your own earrings. I don’t have anything specific for earrings
I've been trying to follow along and I get the circle but can't get it to fill with color. What am I missing?

Can you show us how to make windapinner template
I’m gonna say probably :) I’ve never made one but I imagine I could!

Yes nothing has changed. I just did this today and it’s done the exact same way.
could it be something in my settings thats keeping me from ungrouping them? after i click on path then object to path. it says 174 nodes so i know its been turned into a path but when i goto ungroup them it says.No groups to ungroup in the selection? I dont know what im doing wrong.
@@nicoletteshow4817 instead of grouping or ungrouping try just skipping that and choosing union
What material did you make the snowflake on.😊
The medium draftboard. It cuts right along with the ring for the outside
I was following along and when I selected path then difference, both my circles disappeared. I could undo to bring them back , but never could get the path then difference to work for slice. Can someone help me, I'm stuck.
Try using Path > Extract instead
can you do this for the cricut?
It’s the same to use the design in the cricut. Instead of loading into glowforge you load the SVG into cricut
@@CorinneBlackstone im still kinda new with cricut do you have to do score and cut and all or just cut
@@JelscreationsNmore you only cut with this design
