Thank you so much for sharing your design knowledge. I like how you get directly to the point and not include a lot of off-topic babbling. Great job!

I would love to learn more about Inkscape! I can't afford the other ones. I would also like to see how to take that you might already have, and change it to make it your own. If you understand what I'm trying to say? Loved this tutorial! ❤

Great video! I'm just learning inkscape but you kind of have a bigger job to do right off the bat. The question I have that have yet to figure out is -why one big object is not being filled by one color when I select a color for one object It does not fill the entire object. Granted - I'm sure it's something I've done! I've used the bezier tool not just around the outline of the object but a little bit inside. To give you more information it's an outline of a dog face but also has lions inside of it that do not loop or create an end point for lack of better words doesn't connect to another one full circle type of thing. So there is ear lines inside of the dog outline but the ear outline line is not completed to another line so that might be part of the issue. I've been trying to figure this out and watching a lot of RUclips videos I am hoping maybe you have a video that would go over problems with color fill inside of an object image that's kind of complex! I'm new at this so I don't know how to word all this. Sorry for the wordy message.

Thank you! This was very helpful & you have earned my follow. I want to sell svgs that I create myself (I am an artist) and while I am fairly tech inclined, I am still learning Inkscape and was having problems combing the paths of my drawings (like with the butterflies). I appreciate your straight forward explanation, and now problem solved (until I run into the next one, lol) I understand the difference between Union and combine and why Union wasn’t working for me.😅….I want to make sure all my art and text is no hassle for my customers when I do sell them. Do you know of chance, if prepping files like this for Cricut would also ensure they work for ppl using laser cutters etc? Thanks.😊

Sidney, I have an SVG that I was going to use but I get the msg in Design Space that says:The uploaded SVG contained the following items that are not supported: Pattern fills, Text elements. I realize this is similar to what you are showing here but my brain is just not working & I'm having trouble. I just want to put this text with a banner on it on a cup. The banner is already on it & that is part of the problem. The word that is inside it doesn't show when I put it in DS & the banner becomes a solid black. Can you possibly help me?

Yep you can, you would just select export and then export as PNG... Maybe I should add a tutorial to my tech Tuesday list🤔

I was following your video and was trying to bring the edges of letters together in order to union them together, as you have instructed. However, I was unable to connect edges of some letters so they would have a nice flow. In your video, edges of letters are connected. I was wondering if it is a font issue. Specifically, I typed in "Nurse" and was trying to connect letter "N" with "u" using Great Vibes font. Do you have any suggestions of how to resolve letter connecting problems or should I use different font? If so, what font is best?

I had the same problem. I figured out it when selecting text, make sure the spacing between letters is set to 0.00. For some reason Inkscape defaults to a higher number like 9.96.

Please include, "for critcut," in your title. I'm interested in learning how to use inkscape and came across this video, but I don't use a cricut.
