I am a nurse. I work full time. I barely make enough to live paycheck to paycheck. No benefits. I live out of my car to make things work and pay a gym membership. I know I am not the only person suffering in America. I think 70% of millenials live pay check to paycheck but we have record profits. Something is definitely wrong on how the American economy works. Strike! strike! strike!
Let the economy hurt. It doesn't seem to matter when CEO pay is ridiculous, just lower CEO pay and divide that amongst the workers. The people who make the products.
The greed of the manufacturers is the cause and the strike, the only remedy for labor, is the effect. Simple cause and effect. If factory workers were paid better, had better health insurance and a real pension, they would not strike. The managers get a huge share of the profits for much better benefits and have real financial security. They have made record profits. Now they need to share the profits with labor.
@@alext8828 - Yep! This country is great because of the labor movement which required strikes in most basic industries! Without the strike as a weapon or deterrent, factory conditions would be dangerous and harmful to workers. Profits must be shared for the benefit to ALL. Sadly strikes provide the only way forward to fair settlement.
Its not greed at all. Its all about inflation and a debt based economic system. Even if the union prevails, where does the money come from? Higher prices. And the cycle continues. In the overall scope, the CEO's pay is irrelevant.
@@rembo183 This UAW action will be the nail in the coffin for the big three. This is why equity markets give these businesses such a low market multiple, investors can see these businesses are not going to be an on going enterprise. The UAW is fighting for champagne on the deck of the Titanic. Whatever win you might get will be short lived. Long may Tesla reign.
As the CEO of a major international corporation, which I'm not, my tea leaves tell me that the convergence of the future and the present is hybrid car production. Electric cars are problematic in the sense that they tax the infrastructure and suffer from restricted range. The hybrids don't have these problems and the workers already know how to handle ICE production so the only outlier is the electric motor/battery component. This would allow dovetailing into a softer landing instead of abruptly switching to all-electric and give the unions time to take an intermediate step rather than putting a gun to everyone's head. Pure electric is going to be Musk's downfall and he already knows it. If aluminum batteries don't arrive soon he'll be forced to switch to hybrids which will look like a step backward.
Strike away... WE, dont care. Let them cars rot.. in the lots.
I have never seen the media complain about CEO pay. Which is out of hand and doesn't matter if the CEO does a good job.
Well said.
💯there are cars that are going up to pricing 💯

Most AMERICANS can't afford a NEW CAR in JOE BIDENOMICS WORLD!!
The Unions are squarely in Joe's Camps.

Totally agree. The top brass takes all the money 'cause they can. Simple as that. Pigs.

I think the economic impact depends on how long it lasts.
Agreed
Tesla will now dominate the next 100 years in the auto and sustainable energy industries.
Long may Tesla reign.
Never!

Shaw the demon will kill the big 3 auto makers
Autoworkers should make $50/hr. The CEO's make $9000/hr. Cut their pay instead.
Disagree completely. Cut BOTH of their pay.
