Barra was on CNN this morning and asked about Farleys comments about the UAW demands would cause bankruptcy, she had the perfect response: "When you're asking for more than the company makes.............."
I don't think Shawn Fain really knows the difference between Gross and Net profits. You'll have initial Gross profits, but then you have to pay operational and supply cost, and that's why the Net Profit is what the Auto companies really have to work with.
*I'm a mechanical aerospace design engineer, and lucky to get 10-12% total over 4 years. Maybe I should move and switch careers.

I work in healthcare and through a pandemic my raise was 1% my hubby works at a feeder plant thanks to these guys he's now laid off. Why is the head of the UAW preening in front of the media he should be in there trying to make a deal. I have no respect for the UAW they have taken food off my children's table

labor makes up 5% of the cost of making a vehicle. so if they get a 40% raise that would raise it to 7-7.5%. It's literally less than what they spent on Stock buybacks this year to enrich themselves.

You clearly think you know more about this than you do. 10-12% over a 4 year contract would be fine, provided we didn't only go up only 6% in the past 12 years to begin with. Because of COLA not being reinstated in the last agreement, we have fallen behind inflation by about 15% since the ink dried on the 2019 contract alone. I can only speak for gm, I'm not up on the other two contracts as much, but gm has been clearing 10-12 billion dollars in profits annually for a while. They can easily afford to make us right again.

They can't even negotiate for you guys anymore. Can thank the 2007 leadership for that one. All they can do is ask and if the company says no that's it.

Fully equipped Tundra $78,000. You are getting amazing savings passed onto the consumer by going with a non union product. Good for you sir. You are smart. Who cares that Toyota pays the same as White Castle. You're going to show those lazy no good unions by buying a dirt cheap Asian truck. Brilliant.👍🏻

@aljay2955 so assuming you bought your first car at 16 (probably not), then drove only American for 50 years, then haven't bought another "American piece of garbage" for 12 years? You're 78 years old and commenting on RUclips?😂
      I'm calling big bullsh*t on that one.👍🏻
If you are actually 78, then good grief get off RUclips and go enjoy the precious little time you have left. Have you considered gardening or fishing.🤔
