Prawn mee soup is made with prawn skin stock...not like Assam which uses fish. And it's not sourish either. Should try it. Really yummy.

Seems the Malaysian version of Char Kway Teow (or Char Koay, as some call it) doesn't mix the kway teow with the yellow noodles... The "Penang Prawn Mee" looks suspiciously like.. Assam Laksa..?

depends.. but ussually people put maybe to avoid the kuay teow to become wilt
but kway teow is flat noodles, why would you mix it with yellow noodles? then it's not char kway teow anymore. never had penang prawn mee but i'm guessing it's coconut based. asam laksa is fish based, no coconut. but nyonya laksa is coconut based, or me personally would call it curry mee (because that's exactly it hahaha). nyonya laksa is the laksa you have in SG?

Char koay teow doesn't have carrot as garnish. Penang prawn mee is not the same (I'm from Penang). Usually the soup base is hokkien mee based nothing fancy and should taste soupy rather than oily.... But nasi lemak is right to the alley. Maybe if there is a proper penang prawn mee as that is not the right representation. Might as well munch ramen when I saw that mee..... -3- ... The mee put me off lol. Btw nice video quality. Thumbs up.
