In case you guys were wondering why we didn’t give nasi lemak, roti canai, etc. It is because we intend to have them try different breakfast food besides the breakfast that we commonly know and have. Most of these common breakfasts, they've already tried. So we wanted to present them with other foods that we love too! 😊
breakfast : you forgot the most famous Chinese breakfast, the Bak Kut Teh, it was served only at morning in the 90's only 2000s they served it all day. Also you tiao mostly mix with porridge, seldom people mix with soy milk.

*Very* good job, Thina! You really spent a lot of effort in producing this, I can tell. Some people would've just served them the typical fare. Personally, I would've given them thosai rava and more sauces (sambar/chatni/etc.).
My advice to foreigners is to try foods from different regions and from old restaurants...that is what changed my views on malaysian foods...i will never forget the best chicken chop and curry laksa i had in johor 😭 ..
watched the video again after 9 months, and I can confirm my go to breakfast is either indian food like the ones presented in the video, adding to that the various types of thosai and puttu mayam....or butter kaya toast, villager egg and the very dear teh tarik. i only have my home country's breakfast occasionally..
you tiao yes it is for breakfast, but loh mai kai and taro cake for breakfast, not really that popular though. i would say chinese breakfast are like 1. Prawn noodles 2. Curry Noodles 3. Soup noodles with fishball 4. Pork noodles with soup 5. wan ton noodles 6. cha koey teow 7. roti bakar with kaya and butter 8. half boiled egg 9.chu cheong fun 10. dim sum !!!! chinese prefer something soupy and hot in the morning. nasi lemak is no 1 breakfast for every races
As a Malaysian Chinese....I never had those for breakfast. Youtiao with porridge yes. Taro Cakes and Glutinous Rice Chicken are for evening tea or supper for me.
Nasi lemak is the tasty food in Malaysia.. even you can get a nice SMALLER Nasi Lemak (i means, very small) with 1/4 boil egg with little bit “Sambal” for RM1~1.5 each.. It’s maybe a bit pricey for that Nasi Lemak. But i will buy it because the taste is delicious. Who have the same experience like me..🙋🏻♂️
As a Malaysian, Essentially eat anything that tasted good in any time. I don’t care if it serves food for lunch during breakfast, as long it taste good then I eat.

We as a Malaysian 🇲🇾 having a heavy breakfast in the morning, cause.. we do hard hardwork in the day light.. so we need extra double triple energy to get going with the task and so on.. this is normal for typical Malaysian 🇲🇾 people. I don't know if it is just me, but I don't really think dipping you tiao in soybean milk is really a Malaysian thing. At least among my family and friends, the only thing we would dip you tiao in, is rice porridge.

Orang kelantan terengganu pagi2 memang kalau pergi mana2 kedai jumpa menu macam tu. Pagi2 dah banyak nasi berlauk, laksam semua. Area bandar macam KL & tempat lain memang tak biasa nampak.

we as malaysian, we do not have 'breakfast food', we eat everything that cross our eyes for breakfast like nasi lemak, nasi bungkus, nasi dagang, nasi goreng, mee goreng, mee sup, bihun goreng, bihun sup and etc but we do have 'breakfast drink' like coffee, teh, teh o and milo😂
all Malaysian breakfast can be eaten as lunch and/or dinner as well. we really don't have a rule on that. especially for nasi lemak and roti canai. hahaha.

The thing is, any food can be breakfast here in Malaysia. Even pizza :D Most Malaysians are not that choosey, and eat what we have on our plates.

we as malaysian, we do not have 'breakfast food', we eat everything that cross our eyes for breakfast like nasi lemak, nasi bungkus, nasi dagang, nasi goreng, mee goreng, mee sup, bihun goreng, bihun sup and etc but we do have 'breakfast drink' like coffee, teh, teh o and milo😂

all Malaysian breakfast can be eaten as lunch and/or dinner as well. we really don't have a rule on that. especially for nasi lemak and roti canai. hahaha.
Not too sure we Chinese eat you tiao with soya milk . we eat you tiao with porridge or bak kut teh ( i know it's a little heavy) for breakfast.. The soya milk we just drink it like a drink . Love that Nigerian brother ... he's funny.
