@@therewasnoattempt8373 You mean SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab? I personally like this video game and would argue it's worth checking out. Although the game is weird and has long levels. If you haven't done so already, I would recommending watching RUclips user Fred5107's review of SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab. I certainly loved this game
Sure it wasn’t perfect. The graphics may be dated and the tone is a bit dark and surreal, but I still consider it a fun game to play (especially considering it came out after the first movie and the show was on its 4th season at the time)

It feels like the focus of the team slowly shifted from dreams to nightmares which I.. really don't mind! It gives such an unique flair to this game! Having a Spongebob game with a slightly dark atmosphere is honestly very cool and not only makes for a very varied plot but also for an amazing ambiance, especially inside the Alaskan Bull Worm imo!
Also, great work on this video & the BigSky one! I just watched them both yesterday and they were really entertaining and well-documented! I look forward for your future stuff as you gained a subscriber! ^^

This game creeped me out as a kid, but in a good way. I had an absolute blast playing it as a kid. That fucking Krabby Patty scared the hell out of me, so it was really cathartic for me getting to play as a 50-foot tall Plankton and getting to terrorize that stupid burger, chasing it across town while smashing everything, before switching to SpongeBob and Patrick to fight Plankton for the finale. It was one of the last good SpongeBob games before the Battle for Bikini Bottom remake.

Creature from the Krusty Krab will always have a special place in my heart, as a strange, beautiful mess of a game.
It has its issues, and I won’t argue. I know a remaster could iron out a lot of these issues, but that doesn’t seem like it could happen anytime soon.
As the game currently stands, I absolutely love it. It has that silly Spongebob charm, along with that spooky dreamlike trippy-ness with it- and that alone makes me appreciate it so much.
I absolutely just love Starfish-Man, being able to partake in Plankton’s shenanigans, and drive around a gritty version Bikini Bottom in Spongebob’s dream scenario.
OH and especially the MUSIC~ That aspect was done so much justice.
I hope that someday, they do remaster the game and give it the fullest justice possible.
    :)

Really liked the video. It's so interesting seeing so many ideas planned that sadly were never realized either due to time or budget contrains, some of it really reminds me of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team (which I'm a big fan of). Blitz may not always have had the best programming or level designs in most of their games, but it's the creativity of their concepts and usually great music that somehow keeps me coming back to some of their titles, and Creature is one of them even if it's not even in my top 5 SpongeBob games. Other games from them that I think would make for interesting future videos are Pac-Man World 3 (which is reported to have had a VERY troubled but still somewhat unknown development history) and Tak and the Guardians of Gross (more specifically the early concepts that were more similar to the first three games and were about the four main elements of nature), the latter of which I will keep saying is not as bad as most of the series' fans insist. But for now, feel free to work on other things you personally want or maybe even take a brake if you feel like it. Regardless, I wish you the best luck.

But now that I look back on it, I wish they wouldn't have ""benefited"" from the DS's touch screen, because D-Pad controls would've been better in my opinion. i have no idea how 40 Winks ganeplay is going to be like, it feels more like exploring-based inspired from Revenge of the Flying Dutchman instead of Heavy Iron Studios series action gameplay-like
i thought if THQ Nordic ever want to remade 40 Winks, maybe they can keep Creature from the Krusty Krab's Heavy Iron inspired style gameplay but incorporated several elements from 40 Winks like companion character and SpongeBob's ability to morph into various objects.
Since each dream only have one theme and SpongeBob can visit the dreams at anytime, the best way to represent this is to hava an Open world gameplay like Battle for Bikini Bottom as it seems that 40 Winks was intended to be more exploration than linear narrative.
well i hope THQ Nordic can see this and make it into real deal... for the name, i guess they can keep the title Creature from the Krusty Krab - Rehydrated rather than uses 40 Winks. i felt that using Krabby Patty as the key plot is already interesting an keeping what SpongeBob plot should gonna be

The idea of “40 winks” reminds me of another game with a similar idea. That game would be Piglet’s Big Game. In that game, Piglet must travel to his friends dreams and do certain tasks for them. Such as getting Pooh some honey (of course) in a candy themed world, helping Owl find his memory book in a gigantic library, Find tigger’s stripes, in a world where everything is Tigger themed. Either way, “40 winks” could possibly be done, but the way I’d do it while maintaining elements from CFKK (Mainly the giant patty (as a villain) and giant plankton).

I had this game as a kid and I remember liking the Diesel Dreaming level, which makes sense considering I'm a mechanic now, but the rest of the game was nightmarish to me and really didn't feel like Spongebob at all. I especially hated the Alaskan Belly Trouble level, I hate being inside living things and it was the longest level. I still have it and still find it weird and borderline horrific, just now I find the gameplay more boring and tedious than I remember. It has a really good soundtrack in my opinion though, Diesel Dreaming and Hypnotic Highway being my favorites. Excellent video by the way, really interesting to see where this bizarre piece of my childhood came from.

Story: The story is unique unlike anything I have ever seen in a spongebob game before. It doesn’t really tell an overarching story, it tells mini stories from each of the characters but they all sort of link together. Yeah it is a little confusing but I think it suits the game.
Gameplay: There are multiple different styles of gameplay present which does add a decent amount of variety and it doesn’t stray too far from the core concept of the game.
Music: The soundtrack is really good. Each track suits the environment and it fits in well with the dream aesthetic.
Flaws: Quite a few of the levels drag on for way too long and definitely outstay their welcome. It doesn’t help that the game likes to hold your hand constantly, the best example is in starfishman to the rescue when Patrick is constantly stopped for telephone calls every 5 minutes. This isn’t bad on a first time play through but was it really too hard to be able to skip the cutscenes on repeat play through? I have never played the Wii version but I hear the motion controls don’t control as well as it should. The visuals are also a little on the ugly side as it looks very foggy and unrealistic (starfishman to the rescue was the only decent looking level).
Is it worth it?: Yes, I think so. It is a little different from BFBB and the movie game but blitz games did create an interesting product here. I think it is very under appreciated and more people should get to experience it.
    Overall: 6.5/10

the thing i respect the most about this game is the music, it's so amazing when it comes to "purpose" like themes, its something creators like toby fox do, were they mix certain elements of music for it to gain a certain feel, even thought this game's version of that is way way less subtle i still apretiate the silent sounding themes and then transitioning to the action based themes that are esscentially faster remixes of the slower ones.

Greetings from Italy! It's a bit sad that I've found your SpongeBob videos just now, but still it was an interesting experience to see what happened during the development of these titles. I wonder if you could do something with Truth or Square? I swear that some curious facts (and unfortunately cut processes) happened in the offices of Heavy Iron Studios too.

Heavy Iron has eluded me unfortunately. I've had multiple contacts reach out to them for me and I've never heard anything back. If I ever find anything worth talking about for one of their games I'll certainly do it, but unfortunately I am currently not able to find anything.

I'm currently in the middle of playing The Cosmic Shake, and it is just all around wonderful. Now, comparing this game to CFTKK, both games have incredible concepts. However, The Cosmic Shake's ideas feel much more properly implemented and expanded upon, compared to CFTKK which feels like Blitz Games spent all the budget on ideas and ran dry for the actual game.

    (POTENTIAL SPOILERS):
Having played Cosmic Shake (and being VERY impressed), I think Purple Lamp took ideas from:
BFBB’s original ideas (two prominent pieces of cut content. BIG hint)
The Movie Game (linear gameplay with backtracking)
CFTKK (Costumes, and entertaining cutscenes to make the story complete, and a few other bits)
and 40 Winks (traveling to wish/dreamworlds, and a few other things listed in the Pre-Draft presentation)
If you liked BFBB, Movie game, and CFTKK, and are interested in 40 Winks, try the Cosmic Shake. You will be VERY pleased with what Purple Lamp has to offer

    • @WhoNeedsNormal
      @WhoNeedsNormal  Год назад

As I've started playing through Cosmic Shake, I have definitely had similar thoughts. I doubt they looked at the 40 winks pitch when making the game, but you can definitely feel its DNA there.
The wish worlds are exactly the same as I imagined the original dream worlds would have been. It's a lot more narrative focused and has you doing tasks for specific characters, rather than trying to collect spatulas or whatever. Patrick is your companion, and there's a lot of that back and forth dialog. It's pretty cool to get a game that uses so many of those concepts, even if they weren't intentionally looking at 40 winks.
